>First rifle you ever owned was a good old 10/22 your dad got you when you were 11 >Despite being incredibly plain Jane you still thought it was the most beautiful rifle you ever owned >You try to act like you know your shit but when you find out she can turn into a person you completely lose your nerve around it >And why wouldn't you, you're a shy 11 year old boy with not a whole lot of friends and she appears to be a happy and chatty 14 year old girl >She constantly acts kind of like the big sister you never had, you eventually start to warm up to her and get considerably less nervous around her >Your dad decides to take the two of you to the range once he sees how well you're getting along >You're a bit on edge, but she keeps encouraging you with a soft voice and gentle shoulder massages >You're finally ready, and like her personality she's a joy to shoot, fun and chatty but very approachable, it's almost like she's trying to keep her already low recoil as low as possible >A life long friendship forms between the two of you after many, many range sessions >You keep growing, but she always stays the same >You do get more and more guns as time goes by, but she always holds a special place in your heart >At least for a little bit, but eventually she sees less and less range time >Sometimes she'll sit in the safe for months on end, waiting for her best friend to take her out again >Eventually money starts to get a little tight though, and you need to sell some shit to get new guns >Of course you decide that the old 10/22 has had her time, but you barely take her out anymore and can get a decent price for her >One day you take her out of the range again, she's practically bouncing with joy when you take her downstairs >But something is wrong, there's a strange man standing there >He starts to inspect the gun, and eventually tells you that he'll buy her >At that 10/22's face completely drops, she just stands there, unsure of what to do >The man hands you the money, picks up the half full bucket of .22lr, and tells 10/22 to come along >The gun immediately breaks down, jumping at you and throwing her arms around your neck, sobbing into your chest >"Please anon! Please don't give me away! I'm yours! I'll only be yours! Please! I love you, I love you!" >You will never just shut your eyes and turn away as the man grabs her and gives her a firm yank, stopping her crying >When you look back you will never see she's in her rifle form now, held uncaring in the mans hand as he walks away >You watch him practically throw her into the back seat of the car and drive off >That last you ever see of your best friend it her staring at you through the cars back window, eyes streaked with tears and hands pressed against the glass
