I puked for what must have been the tenth time in a row into the faded green plastic sink, underneth the harsh blue LED lighting. >>"Fucking shit" Withdrawal is a bitch. It isnt easy when you grow up on a cocktail that is a combination of the latest and gretest 5th generation SSRI and the demons seed of stimulants that are known on the streets as drive. Aw god not again, the convolusion started at the diagaphram, and worked its way up to my chest. Green always green with white chunks.. I never eat anything green or any white chunky foods but there it is infront of me. >>"What ever diety there is pease kill me now." "Sorry bud that aint happening." I heard Steves voice say. He continued " No rest for the wicked." He handed me an auto injector that contained the sweet sweet mind altering substances i needed to fuction. I took the auto injector and slamed it into my leg. I felt the needle penetrate my flesh. Almost immediately my mind was at ease and i felt better. The drugs didnt work that fast but the momentary placebo effect was welcomed. Feeling my nausea ease, I got away from the sink and threw the Auto injector to the ground. It was no longer the sacred relic of salvation, it was another pile of plastic and metal. >> "What does the corporation want us to do today Steve, I swear to god if they have us fucking raid Black water again I am fucking quitting. That shit isn't worth the money." Steve grinned at me with his toothy devil may care fuck face smile. "nahh we have to deal with some local thugs apparently they Iced a delivery of fentanyl and other goodies." >> "What gang is it? Probably the Yellow heads right?" I said with almost absolute confidence, those fuckers have been getting awfully rowdy of lately, recently they shot a club I was at, I was really getting to enjoy the company of a certain women until they interfered. Steve shook his head in agreement. >> "okay those fuckers fucked up my time off last week so I have no reservations fucking them up." I walked over to the armory door and opened the door after pushing my thumb against the fingerprint scanner. I walked into the narrow armory. Ah there is the weapon I wanted it was an 84mm Carl Gustave , and the corresponding thermobaric round. This mission was going to be loud messy and most of all not covert. >> "Should we fly the company colors?" I said this as I pulled out the second weapon a CBJ submachine gun. This little fucker was nasty she fired a 6.8mm round but it was a tungsten flechette that was actually 2mm in diameter. The round itself weighed in at 40 grains and let the barrel at around 3800 feet per second. The tungsten was actually softened in the middle so the rounds would have a tendency to curve after entering the target. "Yep we are flying company colors. They also want us wearing full gear." >> "God damn that is such a pain in the ass, that stupid freaking helmet is the worst thing in the world." The helmet in question was called the Special purpose head mounted weapons and communications integration system. It was also called SWCIS for short. It was one of those designs that looked great on paper but was terrible in reality. The main issue was that the targeting system was shit. Absolute dog shit, they didn't account for the helmet its self actually moving during its design as such the whole idea of not having to look down your gun sights and just aim where the little target indicator was didn't work. Secondly was the mandible and facial protection. It would only stop non AP pistol rounds there, which was kind of useless as every one uses AP now, but the worst part was that some genius decided to integrate a filtration system into the mask. The filter was hard to breath through and felt like you were sucking the largest blackest dick in the universe, not exactly what you want when you are running around with people shooting at you. On the bright side it looked cool as fuck with the tubes coming out the side of the sleek facial unit. But looks don't count for much. At least the rest of the kit wasn't shit. First up was the woven Kevlar slash and burn protection layer. It was loosely woven and worn as the under layer. Over that went the soft power armor. a derivative of Web warrior. It was known as soft net power assist. It would enable the wearer to lift twice as much and run 4 times as far. Next up came the cameo shirt and pants. Nothing much here just the same old polyester cotton blend and pattern disruption scheme that humans have been using since before I was born. After that came the plate carrier. It was nothing much just a standard sized ceramic small arms insert plate. With all the plates inserted it weighed around 25 pounds. >> " So where are we going to vape the head quarters in little India or the one in Latino town." I said referring to both marlin Street and Echo Blvd. respectively." Steve stopped putting on his knee guards. " Both of them don't worry I have another thermobaric round in the car.." The car he was referring to was an old beat up ford focus that had the rear half of its roof removed so one could use it like a pick up truck. It had tube steel welded in various parts of it to help stiffen the frame. and most of the body panels had been replaced with composite ones. >> "You are still driving that pile of shit don't you have a fuck ton of cash?" Steve smiled at me . "Yeah I have a fuck ton of cash unlike you because I don't spend it." >> "what's the point of having a fuck ton of cash if you don't spend it?" Steve laughed " Man I like hording cash, its my thing.." >> "what are you a secret jew?" Steve came up behind me as I was putting on my plate carrier and gave me a good slap on the back. Steve replied " If I was a Jew I wouldn't be working here now would I." Jew jokes were still alive and kicking well into the year 2065. I picked up my helmet and put it on my head, the companies logo appeared as the system booted up and played its little jingle. I was finally suited up. I strapped the carl Gustave to my back and slung the CBJ on my chest. I picked up the magazines from the table. >> "Lets see 400 rounds of ammunition should be good right?" Steve looked at me and said, "there won't be much to this mission. Just a drive by with a recoilless rifle." Good nice and easy just like all the girls I dated. As we headed out to the car I saw the latest modification that Steve had made. He had gotten a tarp and hung it over the back so no one could see in. >>"Ahh I see what you did there. Now I wont be seen. At least by civies.." Steve smiled "we have to keep our cover till we get to the target. Hop on in the back. I walked down the stairs from my apartment. It wasn't much just an array of stacked cubes, one on top of another with stairs leading from each apartment to a central area. Rust streaks ran down their metal sides. The design was supposed to look futuristic and sleek although after years of neglect it only looked cheap and old.
