>You're awaken with a start by the shrill ringing of your phone >You answer it and put it to your ear "Yes, this is Anon speaking" >the voice of your mother floats across the line like a nostalgic sense of home >"Hello Anon, you sound like you just woke up" "As a matter of fact, I did. You do remember there's a four hour time difference between us" >"Well now that you're up, how are things in the far north these days" "Eh, getting darker and colder each day but that's normal stuff. Oh, I did get a promotion at work a while back" >"Well congratulations Anon. We're very proud of you" "How are things in the lower 48?" >"Oh same old, same old. Uncle Jim is over to celebrate thanksgiving with us" "Man wish I could be there. But I'll be home for Christmas don't you worry" >"Oh Anon, I've heard that you finally got yourself a girl. Is that correct" "Uhhh...Yeah. I do" >"Well, what's she like?" you mom asks, trying to prod into everything in traditonal mom fashion "Well....she's smart, polite, cute, beautiful, and is probably the best thing that's happened to me so far" >"HOW IS SHE IN THE BED?" someone that sounds like your father yells across the room so it can be heard over the phone >Dad was always one to be direct to the point while being humorous >You give off a snort and begin laughing while your mother, obviously covering up her phone so you can't hear while she scolds your father for how the remark was uncalled for an improper >But you hear it all which just makes you laugh even more >"I'm so sorry about that Anon, you know how your father is" "But that's why I love him" >"Well you have a good thankgiving Anon, hope to hear from you soon" "You too Mom, love you" >"B'bye" "Bye" >With that you hang up the phone and look over to Lilly >She's sitting up, sheet covering her front and most of her face but it's obvious she heard all of it >"D-do you really think I'm all that Anon?" she says meekly "Of course I do" you say as you pull her into an embrace "Now, let's get our own little Thanksgiving prepares"
