>You wake up to the sound of birds chirping outside
>It takes you a bit to remember you are at your parents house, which is in the part of the country that doesn't really receive winter
>You roll your head over to your right to the familiar sight of Lilly sleeping peacefully snuggled up against you
>You look at your watch to check the date
>Christmas day, 9:15am
>You roll out of bed quietly as to not startle Lilly
>You find the small box that you brought with you and tuck it in the back pocket of your pajama pants then leave the room
>Your dad is in his lazy-boy, with the Roku remote in his hand
>As you get closer you hear the familiar intro to a TV-show
>"OORAH, SEMPER-FI DO OR DIE! IT'S TIME FOR MAIL CALL!"
>your dad looks over and gives you a big smile
>"Merry Christmas Anon"
"Merry Christmas Dad"
>After you brew up some coffee you hear the sound of Lilly coming out of the bedroom and into the Living room
>She rubs the sleep from her eyes as she enters and looks around the very decorated room
"Merry Christmas Lilly" you say as she walks towards the kitchen
>"Merry Christmas Anon, and to you to Mr. Anon" she says and picks up one of the mugs
>After breakfast and some small chatter and the turning off of the TV your parents declare it's time to open presents
>Everyone sits around the tree or Living room and presents are handed to their respective person
>you receive those books you've always wanted from your mother and stocks from your father
>"Gotta start investing sometime, and with how the market is you'll be doing good on it" he says when you look at him
>Finally Lilly starts unwrapping hers

>The first box has an old style dress in it from your mother
>"Why Mrs. Anon, it's lovely! My deepest thanks" she says while inspecting the dress
>"Ohhh, anything for you dear" you mother says, voice full of pride
>Your father seemed to have also bought Lilly stocks as well, typical of him to give the same gift to two people
>She unwraps the gifts you got her, some books and a music player
>"Thank you so much Anon!" she says and wraps her arms around you
"U-uh L-lilly there's o-one more gift f-for you" you stutter out, your heart pounding
>She breaks the hug and begins looking around for it
>"Where is it Anon?" she says while looking at you all perplexed
>all right anon, man up you can do this
"Lilly, I've been together for a good while now, and I made up my mind about this a long time ago. So here it goes..."
>Lilly looks even more confused at what you just said
>"W-would you.." you try to force out as you move into a kneeling position while pulling the small jewelry box out of the back pocket
>"take my hand in marriage Lilly?" you finally say as you open the box towards her, presenting a beautiful ring in the box
>Your mother audibly gasps and Lilly covers her mouth with shock
>Everything's quiet for a few seconds then Lilly breaks it
>"YES, YES, YES!" she yells, tears rolling down her face as she tackles into you
>The tackle takes you by surprise and you land on your back, covered by a crying and squeaking Lilly
>She gets enough control and gets up still covering her face, tears streaming down it
>You take advantage of this and take the ring from the box and slip it on her hand
>She looks at the ring on her hand before bear tackling you again
>Your mother is also crying and visibly excited while your father has one of the cheekiest grins on his face that could span the whole country
>You sit there for the next few hours just cuddling and looking into each others eyes while your parents go about their day, telling everyone they know of the proposal
