>After the first world war, a war no one was prepared to deal with, the after affects came into play in horrifying manners >Soldiers, having been separated during artillery and mortar strikes over no mans land found themselves alone and out of their minds with fear >Soldiers were no longer firing in unison as a line formation, but one on one, and their minds were becoming riddled with guilt over surviving or causing mass casualties >The fallout was horrible, and means to dampening those effects were sought after by a multitude of countries >the answer came from a combined effort on 1921 from the Nordic countries and Germany, following the trail of a particular ritual that was used to imbibe swords and other such weapons with the spirits of elementals >First trials of the ritual found that the elementals were too unruly in the form of rifles, causing harm to the user, or simply bursting the rifle in flames or covering it in sheets of ice. >An alternative was offered by the way of altering the ritual and binding, instead, a female spirit due to them being stronger than male spirits (and as one clever Swedish scientist noted, it would go over better with troops using the weapon) >The first trial of this binding was done on a Gewehr 1888 found in the German armory, and was given inspection and found in good condition >What came out of the rifle after the binding... no one was prepared for >Instead of a surely elemental hurling insults and projectiles at them, a woman of almost unnatural beauty stepped from the pedestal the rifle laid upon, her uniform so crisp and clean... some think no even humans could do such a job >She introduced herself as The Mother of Rifles, and that she had been sent as the first envoy by The Great Mother, to oversee the implantation of her daughters and their care >She was also sent to instruct on where to find deeper soul wells >Of course the secret never stayed a secret >Once the ability of finding wells was let loose upon the world, every country with the manufacturing ability began to tap into their regions well, some small skirmishes even breaking out over control of them >Within a short span of time each country was pumping out what the Mother of Rifles coined 'Waffegeists', the weapon spirits, and it changed warfare from then on in >Soon soldiers were able to find companionship in their rifles that could change forms, either being their rifle during use or as a crisply uniformed female otherwise. >Their worries and guilt became shared, increasing the efficiency of platoon sized and battalion size elements due to decreasing the need for counselings and mental wellfare checks >There were small... hickups that were dealt with due to regulations that had to be put into place, with much delegation from the Mother of Rifles herself >As with all new technology there was discrepancies that could not be over looked, and all things have their problems. Even magical rifles >It became a problem with rifles could not be easily shared amongst troops. While some rifles were fine with it, others found it degrading and would refuse to be operated by other soldiers besides their designated shooter >The same went for when a Waffegeist would lose their D.S, their emotional state being so distraught that they would stay in rifle form, refusing counsel from other rifles or even the Mother of Rifles herself >The first rifle to feel these effects was a Kar98, her designated shooter having been crushed by a falling of barrels while unloading supplies during training >Her mood became so foul and unwieldy that the spirit itself began to leak its own moroseness in her surroundings, cursing some soldiers to have bad luck befall them >The Mother of Rifles, seeing one of the War Daughters in pain, consulted with whom she would tell no secrets of and came to the German Army with an answer >an Anvil of Sorrow was crafted, and with it a hammer inscribed with runes of breaking, so that the spirit would be released peacefully >If it was not done as so, the Waffegeist would be torn asunder and tossed into the Realm of Darkness, never to see the light again until found by The Great Mother after time >The anvil and hammer were placed in what would be called Serenity Gardens, usually in the middle of military graveyards. The Mother of Rifles thought it was more fitting this way. >The Kar98 was brought from the armory where she was kept (the armorer actually having a shelf crack onto his head while holding her) and had her bolt shattered that very afternoon, the bolt being where the spirit was stored. >Her broken bolt and stock were buried at Order Arms beside her designated shooter, her soul at rest >The hammer and anvils around the world would see much sorrow and use at the end of WWII, coming only a few years after the first Kar98s breaking, the graveyards expanding faster than anyone expected >So if the bolt is destroyed by any method (whether purposely or accidental) outside of the Anvil of Sorrow, the soul is essentially thrown into a Purgatory until the end of time? Yes, kind of. Until The Great Mother can find them again shining in the mass darkness. What about service pistols? Since they do not have a bolt, what is the spirit bound to? Did they have Waffegeists at all? We have been speaking of pistols. We have found the geist may be planted in the frame or slide >This was not to be the life i thought i would have when i left the Sig Sauer location and came to New York >We heard stories... such nice stories of owners treating you as if you were part of the family >Of car rides >Sunny afternoons at the range >But this city... This place, it is a place of nightmares >As soon as I arrived they beat me when they saw I was in my human form, screaming at me to change into what i truly was >Terrified, I complied, and they immediately stuck me in a small room with a few of my sisters >They began to play a movie of sorts, in which we were told that we were responsible for the death of millions of human lives >They showed us pictures of Malmedy, and Sur-Glane >We didnt not understand how this had damned us... we were pistols and rifles of a new design, this happened decades ago in a war in the past... >but still they movie played on, and they drilled home that they hated us >But at the same time... they needed us to carry out their bidding >After that we were shoved into cramped lockers, so even if we did change shape it would be highly uncomfortable >When we tried to talk to eachother in our little cramped cells, they would drag us out and beatings were regular >They did it in such a way that our weapon forms would look pristine... they didnt want us dented, or scratched >The true horror came when we would be placed in holsters, or slung over shoulders, and we would have to be present for the breakings >These northern states had a plan to rid themselves of Waffegeists, a plan that preyed on the greed of the weakness of man >Sons and Wives, lured in by giftcards and iphones stole away rifles and pistols of multiple eras, trading them in for their little trinkets >Afterwords they would be given the same treatment we were given to dim the light in their souls, to torture them even further despite their betrayal >I saw the Anvil of Langemark, and the anvil they had here deep in the bowls of their headquarters was a dark and evil thing. >Made of wrought iron and silver, it made the air taste foul and heavy in our lungs >Its accompanying hammer was just as dingy and dark, with angry red runes of breaking all around the crushing head >We were on their belts... we were too afraid to act when they first began to drag them to the anvil >It was as if they were taking out the trash, bringing the hammer down on their necks and putting them down as if they were pest >As soon as the bolt was broken they snapped back into their rifle form, the bolt tinkling on the ground in multiple pieces and the stock clattering noisily >After which they were tossed into a pile unceremoniously to be disposed of later >The stank of wickedness filled the air and only seemed to fuel their hate for us, and even we cowered in our holsters in fear of being placed on that damned anvil as well >They did almost 100 a day >Every day I had to watch my sisters being stricken like cattle >No more >Tonight Im going to leave my locker whether I am followed or not >Tonight im going to gather as many as I can and make a run for it >I know there is peace for us in the west >Theres only a few states to go >I cant do this anymore >I cant sit here and take this >I cant... be next ~~~ Would be kind of a fun idea to be states bordering Anti-gun states and having to deal with massive influxes of firarms 'literally' running past your border with authorities on their heels >Be WaffeGeist Customs Patrol >Having to stave off Anti-gun Authorities trying to drag rifles back over the border into their jurisdiction >Getting in weekly armed standoffs and even exchanging fire with anti-guns to give cover to fleeing Waffegeists >Tfw you will never start drinking because you still cant help the ones that care caught >Their flailing arms and digging fingers as they are drug back over the state line will linger with you >Yfw they are just dragged back to their deaths
