Their equipment consists of thin padded armor and a light leather chest piece, both of which are cheap, common and easy to produce by almost any clan; and a blunt weapon of some kind, be that a club, mace or a pipe of some kind. Their primary role is that of keeping order, enforcing clan law and if need be, to form a militia. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clan Infantryman: Ranging from trained volunteers to levied conscripts, clan infantry are far more uniform then in the past. Most lighter infantry don heavier leathers over padded armor, while heavy infantry utilize thicker iron plating over chain mail. While prone to superficial rust, the armor is effective nonetheless. All infantry wield at least a short sword, with swordsmen being equipped additionally with a heftier chopping sword with a rear spike for armor penetration. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clan Captains: When order needs to be enforced, the Captains are there to enforce it. Clad in the same armor as those under their command, the visual difference is in the helmets, which are built off of the sturdy "Sphera" helmets given to Awoo shock troopers. The helms are given additional plating around the mandible region and a enlarged crest on the rear of the top of the helm to identify their rank. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Awoo Shock Troops: The Awoo population of New Andreth makes up quite a bit of the population, and those clans who can afford to enlist them in their armies. Given specially designed "Sphera" helmets that accommodate their ear placement and thicker armor plating to take advantage of their superior strength and stamina. They wield large swords in both hands, again an advantage of their superior strength, which possess two spikes on the tips, allowing for effective anti-cavalry tactics. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clan Bowmen: Given a lighter variant of the Iron plated armors of the infantrymen, Clan Bowmen are equipped either with standard bows, Crossbows if their clan has the money or knowledge to make/buy them, or in the case of Awoo/Half-Awoo, Greatbows and light Ballistae.
