All airships crashed, their complex machinery exploding in steel and brass shrapnel. All residents of the city looked on in horror as the arcane vortex enveloped the city, it vanishing from the face of the world. The inter-planar void the city ended up in would hold the ruined capitol in a sort of stasis for Gods knows how long, before being spat back out on an unknown world. The Clans would descend into chaos, and the loss of technologies like airships, gunpowder, and others sent the great republic back centuries in terms of advancement. It would take several years for the Clans to stabilize, with a small scale civil war would erupt between clans Taiida, Selvan and Vay before order was re-established by the Clan-Sah of the Major clans. This war would use up the last stores of guns left in Andreth, with Clan Varke unable to reproduce the formula for more black powder from memory. The use of flame-sprayers also fell out of use as the reserves of the incendiary compound dried up. Upon the re-establishment of the Daiimad, the remaining and useless guns, flame sprayers and other technologically reliant weapons were sealed away in the ruins of the great hall of Clan Vay, in case they could be used again in some distant time in the future. The racial makeup of the FHR is as follows; Humans continue to make up a large majority of the population, with Half-elves still being a sizable minority along with Awoo. Half-awoo still lack the numbers to be considered in any way sizable, and are as much of a minority as the elves were at their lowest numbers. The Clans: Taiida: Formerly the most populous clan, and the first to civilize, Taiida is a shadow of it's former self, having been decimated by the disappearance of Andreth and the subsequent civil war after it's reappearance. (Mostly unchanged) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vay: Clan Vay is what it always has been, a clan of professional soldiers. Their participation in the Civil war ensured victory for their clan allies, and ended up remaining a dominant force within Human society. Clan Vay possesses the largest amount of Awoo and Half-Awoo sworn families under it, which give them a force multiplier due to the nature of the lupine-humans. Vay battle priests too continue to be a force to be reckoned with, as the Pantheon of Humanity has not abandoned their misplaced children. (Mostly unchanged) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Caldath: Clan Caldath has been reduced heavily in number, and with aquatic based transport/combat taking a sideline to more pressing matters, Clan Caldath has been deligated to Minor Clan status. (Reduced in status) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Varke: The members of Clan Varke have seemingly been changed the most in comparison to others, having gone from innovators and inventors to reclusive guardians of what little knowledge of the old State there is left. Their soldiers are armed with the most impressive weapons still able to be produced, Crossbows, and it is those soldiers that guard the Great Vault in the former Great Hall, where they wear ceremonial red robes and heavy, faceless armors. (Tech Guardians and Pseudo-Mechanicus) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Selvan: The genocidally minded Selvani half-elves waged war to gain power among the other major clans, but were defeated by the alliance of the formerly warring clans Taiida and Vay. Since then they have been stripped of their status as a major clan and have been collectively assigned penance work under the authority of the now Major clan Belde, who enforce the will of the Kahad-Sajaak. (Disgraced former power) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Belde: While Belde was a superstitious clan, having been so since the Elven occupation of the human lands, but since Andreth's reemergence they have become deeply religious, and have grown close with the Sajaak-Khar priests and the religious leader of the Pantheon of Humanity, the Kahad-Sajaak. (Guerrilla fighters turned woodsmen turned Zealots) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dzen: With the regression of the inventive tendencies of clan Varke, the minor clan Dzen took up the mantle of chief creators of things. Possessing a wide variety of smiths and practical craftsmen, clan Dzen may not be like Varke in ingenuity and creativeness, but they make up for it in sturdy, durable and deadly designs for tools, arms and armor. Some may mock the crude look of the equipment produced, but none so far criticize the quality.
