in the year of 20XX, a cosmic event known as the /k/onvergence torn our world apart. no one knows what happened exactly, but many clues leading up to it may have warned us sooner. portal storms ripped apart the land, merging us with another world. chunks of earth vanished, and new places were dumped on our side. portals between the two worlds are unstable, sporadic, and dangerous. as the old world died, a new one emerged. new peoples, strange creatures, ancient mysteries. earth and the global goverments are powerless to stop the chaos, as cities and towns are left to fend for themselves from creatures and people from the other side. dragons in new york, orcs in california, skinwalkers in the cascades. only a few have decided to leave on their own and cut out a stake of the new world for themselves. some soldiers, some adventurers, others souls left wanting for adventure, hoping for the new world to provide it. the question is reader, what kind are you ? 1. the cult of the kube and the discovery of geist. the kube is a massive cube formed of all the weapons of man. from the first sharpened rock to the most recent space age rifle, all are composed in the massive construct. the kube is worshipped by untold millions that give it its power, the power to give man freedom. part of this power is told to have been the creator of waffengeist, or weapon-spirits. while the kube itself is a monolith of weapons, it is also where the broken and abused gesit go to die, lending their power to the kube. geist or weapon-spirits manifest as a soul for a weapon, able to project a human version of themselves. geist typically only appear to user that they trust, and many form close bonds with their users. geist can also choose if they work for a user, being able to jam or misfire themselves, as a geist can only truly work their best when used by someone they 100% trust. 2. humanoid races of the new world. the merge with the new world has brought many new visitors and residents, many off which get along well enough with humans, and others with do not. 1. elves. humanoids with pointed ears and high magical affinity. think very highly of themselves, and are the main ruling class of fantasia. highly adapt with magic, many mage schools were founded by elves. also have many subraces within their species. elf culture and kingdoms have been stuck in a long cycle of stagnation due to their long lifespans, with the multiple century old elves a the top still in control, leading many younger elves to leave, looking for new experiences and adventure outside of their own. 2. dwarves. a short stocky people from the underground, they have carved out a civilization that can live entirely under the earth. also hate elves. good with metallurgy and machinery, dwarven engineers have advanced their race into an industrial one. the dwarves of numagh keep were the ones responsible for repealing one of the largest orc hordes ever seen, taking full advantage of their industry and tech. 3. halflings. short little people, nothing especially weird about them. good cooks and very humble. typically only 3 to 4 feet tall. not much info is known about them, as they keep to themselves in their small villages. 4. giants. massive human like species. most are within the 12 to 20 foot height range. although devastating in a fight, most want to be left alone. 5. orcs. a pig like race of green humanoids, they are extremely tribal and violent by nature, they are known as raiders and looters by most other races in the new world. only a few have left their nature behind. many leave their tribes and try to integrate into more modern societies, although this has mixed results. 5. goblins. nasty little green shits that only serve as target practice. live in tribal societies that rely in raiding and looting to survive. many towns dispatch bounties and groups of hunters to smoke out and remove goblin nests within a certain radius. 6. humans. not very advanced and mostly under the rule of other races, humans in fantasia are rare and mostly used as labor by elves and other races kingdoms. many small human settlements are underpopulated and on the verge of attack, as the human population in the new world is small and spread out, most with no way to contact one another. 3. demi-humans and the beastfolk. humanoids that either appear to be half animal or are animal-like humanoids. too many in number, only a few major known ones will be listed. 1. harpies. bird people with a penchant for vulgar language and stealing. appear human aside from their arms and legs, which are wings and talons respectfully. many get along as raiders and criminals, and have earned a reputation as annoying. 2. lamias. snake people. snake from the waist down, can reach a length between 10 and 20 feet. being extremely strong due to their snake half, lamias tend to be excellent hunters, as well as being experts on stonecarving and waxingmaking. lamias live amongst small communes, ruled by a family of royal blood. 3. mermaids. talkative and harmless people, they appear fish from the waist/hips down. very friendly with humans and other land races. have been seen helping swimmers and fishermen. some have been seen farming manatees like cows in rivers and shallow beaches. 4. centaurs. a race of humanoids with the lower body of various equine's. living in nomadic clans led by a war chief, these clans are often hired by other kingdoms as cavalry. valuing bravery and honor above all else, seeing it as the highest honor to die in battle in service to their respective god. 5. the moth. a race of insect people, tenders of the magical heku flowers in the far north. white fuzz and dark black eyes dominate their look. unable to communicate verbally, they instead project symbols and letters on their wings with bioluminescence. 6. hasharat kabira. nomadic bug people, similar to roaches and beetles. live in the eastern deserts of the new world, a husk of their former empire. tend to be very tribalistic and weary of outsiders, sometimes to the point of outright murder. it is wise to be carful around them, and never keep your back turned for too long. 7. drifters. modern descendants of the great eastern sandworms, these odd people are a bone husk in the shape of a body, populated by worm colonies. refer to themselves as groups instead of individuals. highly value religion, often making visits to sites of importance. not much is known about them at all, as drifters are rare and often alone when outside the great desert. 8. teiflings. elf like humanoids with demonic heritage. a culture filled with emotion and passion, their lifestyles are decedent and filled with the arts. many have a knack for pyromancy, as it is a specialty of their race. come on a wide range of colors. 9. pale teiflings. a sub-race of teiflings with a deer like appearance. live in a remote forest near the main teifling kingdom, after having lost a war with them. a reclusive people with a unique style of warfare, leaving the forest is considered the worst thing to do. 10. kobolds. small lizard -like people. typically only as tall as halflings, kobolds try hard to make it in a world bigger than them. many kobolds with to emulate the great dragons, as they see them as an object of reverence and worship. kobolds are also gifted in the ways of invention, and come up with many small tools and gadgets. tend to stick around and follow other races, hoping to be seen as useful or needed. 11. unknown beastfolk. many of these people take on the features of various animals, from cats, to wolves, to bears, to reptiles. non of them have a culture known right now, and are very illusive. it is unknown how many different types there are, as many of their societies are reclusive and isolationist, shunning outsiders and living in semi-tribal villages. it is worth noting that while there is the rare loner that lives among other races, most avoid other people and stick with their own. 4. known creatures of the new world. 1. dragons. impossibly ancient, the dragons of fantasia are the be-all-end-all of the known world. gifted with magic, shapeshifting, and the ability to breath elements, few forces can take on a dragon and win. some like to assume a human-like form and wonder amongst the other races for a few hundred years. have an unhealthy attraction to wealth in all forms, even those which are useless to them. 2. wyverns and drakes. dragon-like creatures closer to animals. mere simple beasts, they come in many forms and subspecies, occupying lots of different niches in an ecosystem. many are hunted for their scales and other materials, as many cultures value them as a commodity. wyverns and drakes also hail from the same species as dragons, yet lack the intelligence or magical affinity that dragons have. 3. chimaric beasts. this order includes creatures that are a combination of two or more animals, such as griffons, manticores, and sphynx's. generally all have the body of a large cat or dog, and many also have the wings of a great bird. all are predators, and most are solitary over being pack animals. while manticores and sphynx's tend to be on the same level as human intelligence, griffons are little more than animals, closer to that of an eagle or a wolf than a person. 4. unreported fauna. although there is more than on this list, many have not been properly documented, and instead have to rely on first hand accounts and witnesses. there is talk of massive creatures in the sea, boats and planes going missing, weird animals appearing on the earth side. even extinct animals have been supposedly reported, although these are doubted outside of fringe communities.
