what is your name?	John Franklin Mcgee founder of /K/onvergance News

what do you look like?	6 foot 1 inches, brown hair, lean but not skinny, slightly pudgy face, usually has 5 o'clock shadow. 

what is your occupation?	reporter, I worked international news for most of my life and when the portals opened, I jumped at the chance to do some "investigative journalism."

why did you choose to go on this adventure?	I’ve read fantasy novels most of my life and there was no way I wasn’t going to check what was on the other side of the portals. the fact that I get paid to do so only sweetens the deal.

what are your interests and hobbies?	I love to read fantasy novels and have an amateur interest in photography which helps with the news thing. 

what is your biggest fear? getting gut shot is pretty high on the list I’ve seen more than a few soldiers bleed out from wounds like that

what are you most proud of?	I managed to get an interview with the ork chieftain Blakrekka the Godfang Thraka when he was on the war path and shortly before he blew himself up with a 4th hand USSR era ballistic missile he bought off of Iran. 

what secret would you never share with anyone?	the first time I saw a dragon it was diving on the trade caravan I was with it crushed the first four wagons and I shit myself. that was not a fun day, and it took a long time for me to live it down, especially as I had been regaling some of the caravan guards with my "exploits" and experiences from some of my time emplaced with us military forces at the time. 

what is the most important thing for you in the world?	 /K/onvergance news is an organization that I’ve built from the ground up and functions in the grand tradition of hunter s Thompson and spider Jerusalem. (You can’t report about what you don’t see/know)

tell me 3 of your weaknesses	I’m not a particularly good shot, I have only basic survival training hotels are my kind of camping, I have a slight limp from some shrapnel in my left knee, so I don’t run well over long distances.

tell me 3 of your strengths	I’m quite smart it takes a lot to pull the wool over my eyes, I am good at getting people to like/trust me (very helpful in getting interviews and help), I’ve got quite a few contacts in quite a few interesting places from a lifetime of working as press.

Today as I bore witness to an operation conducted by the mercenary group "Electric Troll Crew" as a part of an ongoing contract for them to protect a series of watering holes and caravan trails for the several towns that rely on them. coming up on the north most oasis the patrol group came under attack by a large horde of orcs. unfortunately for the orc the patrol group had an m113 that had been retrofitted with a zpu 2 which made short work of the initial waves. this sort of mass attack is apparently growing more common from the semi feral clans that exist out in the desert near here. honestly it took longer for them to pile up the bodies and burn them with to keep them from contaminating the oasis than it did to kill them. the mercs I talked to said that their (the ferals) attacks were growing bigger and more frequent, he told me that its part of some kind of initiation rituals. they attack settlements and other important targets to take loot and land they offer in exchange for position in the war horde of whatever chieftain is on the warpath at the moment. apparently the most recent one has made quite the name for himself having taken more than a few cities and even a few military bases and at least one armoury. I’ve sent the film that needs to be developed and my articles and notes with this message. I’m going to try and find this "Blakrekka the Godfang Thraka." a few of the friends I’ve made in Electric troll crew say they know some smugglers that can get me past the front lines and arrange an introduction. I might be out of contact for a few weeks, but if I can get this interview, it'll be amazing.
