I was just a little boy when it began, too much happened at once and the world became a white marble, the war, the HAARP bombs, and the great cooling following it changed everything. Humanity nowadays lives in underground bunkers getting their power thanks to geothermal heat, but sometimes people like us venture out into the frozen wasteland with our snow crawlers, scavenging for lost tech and other supplies hoping to make our fortune. Mutants, bandits, old world military robots, and even other scavengers, you have to always watch your back, and this is not even including the tree shattering frost and the roaring snowstorms that always come when you least expect it. So who am I? I am part of the crew of a snow crawler. It is a harsh job but it fills your belly and your pocket, and you are one of the select few who are allowed to leave the cramped confinements of the underground bunkers. You don't know the feeling of freedom you get when the gates open and you see the grand outdoors in front of you, even if it's only for a few seconds, you feel alone and at peace. There is a saying; "once you become a scavenger you will never want to do something else again." And it's true, the stale recycled air in the bunkers will feel almost toxic in comparison to the ice cold fresh air outside. So what do we do? Like I said before we scavenge for stuff, but we also do recon and patrol the borders for the bunker defence force. It's a pretty good gig if you ask me. Our snow crawler is pretty cramped but it's better than being outside all the time, and drinking a cup of tea inside after some scavenging is pure bliss. My weapon if choice is a PARA FAL, the shorter barrel and folding stock is really useful when sitting and walking inside the snow crawler. Cold weather gear is also important but that is not hard to get, most common are insulated boots, trousers, and anorak. but enough talking, time to go on another trip.
