I promise you will be better.” >the harpy doesn’t respond in her drugged state, and I begin my trek back to my clinic >I make it back to my small clinic in the woods >it is small in the sense that I am the only doctor who works here >however, I do my job *really* well >I’m a specialist, you see, specializing in non magic healing >people come from miles around to see me, and there is little physical harm I can’t correct on my own >however the harpys surgery put me under a little stress >but only a little >although it took many hours, I managed to stabilize her and correct her wounds so they may heal >the entire list of injuries was very extensive >multiple deep lacerations across the body. Required upwards of 300 stitches to close completely >multiple fractures and breaks across both legs, however they were all set without incident. >the large break was difficult, however the corrective surgery was quick and the bone fragments puncturing the skin have been fixed >removed roughly 22 grams worth of birdshot from her entire body, as well as treating and closing the wounds they left >one of the buckshot fragments must have ricocheted and hit her eye. I’m not sure what vision abilities she will have out of it, but her other eye is safe >there was multiple old wounds that seemed to have been crudely stitched together that had become infected and nearly gangrenous >opened the wounds, cleaned them, and resealed them. >blood tests showed high levels of multiple different types of toxins and venoms >started her on emergency dialysis to clean her little remaining blood >once stabilized I cleaned all the old blood and filth off the harpy via sponge bath >she’s now on saline bags, blood transfusions, antibiotics and detoxification >I’m waiting for the anesthetics to wear off and for her to wake up >all is well with the harpy >.... >her wing arm was damaged beyond repair. Had to amputate it at the elbow. Stump has been sealed and stitched closed. >she will never be able to fly by her own power ever again >this will be horrible news to break to her >in the meantime, I am starved >I’m going to make lunch >have some nice stew from the other night left over >heat it up and put it in a bowl, served with a cold meat sandwich >a great meal if I do say so myself >catching up on my reading when I hear a muffled crashing sound come from my infirmary >oh no >I rush down the hall as fast as I can, hoping to correct whatever emergency has occurred >I fling open the door and go to the bed where the harpy should be laying >she’s off the bed, and is instead laying on the floor sobbing >it would appear that she attempted to get out of the bed using her IV stand as support, but then fell and had it crash on top of her >she’s crying in pain, but there also is another tinge to the sound >it seems like sorrow >”are you alright?” >she whips her head around to look at me and her eyes are wild >”NO NO NO! Stay away! Go the fuck away!” >shes frantically clawing at the ground to move, but in her weakened state is pinned under the Weight of the IV stand >I bend down and lift the IV stand off of her >she’s screaming at me to get away >”leave me alone! I don’t want your help! Go away! Just let me be! I want to fucking die go away!” >she’s completely hysterical >”Ma’am you need to calm down, you are still recovering from your surgery and might hurt yourself more.” >she’s too worked up to listen to me >luckily, she doesn’t see me move my hand around and prick her with another syringe of sedative >her voice starts to slur and she glances down at the syringe >”fucking...bast...ard...no…” >she goes limp and falls asleep >pick the comatose harpy up and lay her back in the bed >she popped some of her stitches, so I reseal the wounds >luckily her bones didn’t get un-set, so I don’t have to correct that >once I have the harpy stabilized and her IVs reattached I get the medical straps and secure her to the bed >although it pains me to do this, I don’t want to have her try and get out of the bed again >she needs to save her strength >wait for the sedative to wear off by her bedside, doing more reading on medical charts >eventually I hear her breathing get quicker and louder >her heartbeat starts racing >it’s seems to be a borderline panic attack >her eyes bolt wide open and she looks around crazed >she immediately begins jerking around and trying to to get out of the bed >I try to get her to calm down by speaking to her, but she doesn’t listen >the harpy eventually tires herself out trying to break out of the restraints >she stops the struggling and looks at me with pleading eyes >she stares for at me for a few seconds and then begins crying and sobbing >”I’m sorry I’m sorry, I’m sorry I tried to escape. I don’t want to even leave anymore please just let me die. I don’t want to feel better just kill me please. Let me die, I’m tired of this let me die.” >her pleading catches me off guard >I’m at a loss of words of what to say to her >”I don’t want any of you to hurt me anymore, please just let me die. Kill me please, I’m sorry I tried running but please just let me die.” >I regain my wits and clear my throat >”ma’am, I don’t know who you are talking about or to, but I assure you that you are safe here.” >her face quickly becomes angry >”enough with the damn games! I know they are all tricks!” >the anger in her yelling catches me off guard >the harpys anger quickly subsided and it’s replaced with horror >”I didn’t mean to yell I’m sorry...don’t punish me...just let me die...please.” >I let her cry for a few more minutes, sitting quietly by her >eventually, I try and talk to her >”ma’am, as I said before, I don’t know who you are talking about, but I assure you that this is no trick and that you are safe here with me” >she’s sobbing and shaking her head no, refusing to listen >”why are you doing this again. Why? Please let me die...please...just go away and let me die…” >I stand from my chair, a bit disheartened by the whole experience >”ma’am, I’m sorry to say that I won’t be letting you die, BUT, I will be leaving you alone. Holler if you need anything, but I will be by to check on you soon. Please get some rest, and I assure you, you are safe here.” >the harpy keeps crying, refusing to listen, and I leave with a heavy heart >go around my clinic, checking supplies and taking tallies >everything is in order as it should be >take care of a wandering adventurer who said his wounds where infected >turns out he just had some dirt in them, cleaned them out, sealed them, and sent him on his way >it’s been a few hours since I’ve checked in on the harpy, so I will see how she is doing >I go to her bedside >the instant I get close her heart rate skyrockets and her breathing quickens to a rapid pace >she almost begins sobbing again, but luckily she keeps herself in check >I remove the empty transfusion bags, and attach another saline drip and antibiotics treatment >”why are you doing this?” >the question catches me off guard >I look at the harpy and her bright green eyes are filled with sorrow >I give her the truthful answer >”I’m here to heal you and to make you feel better?” >she shakes her head slowly >”but why? Why do you want me to feel better? Just to torture me again? To rip me apart? Please, can I just die?” >I sit down on the chair by her bedside >”ma’am, I assure you, I am not here to do any of that. I don’t know why you keep thinking that, or even saying that, but I am not here to hurt you or put you back together just to have you suffer again. I want to *help you*.” >the harpy sniffles once, and for the briefest seconds, I see the smallest glimmer of hope go into her eyes >the small glimmer, of it even was there to begin with, is quickly gone, and it’s replaced with suspicion, sorrow, and pain >”how do I know you’re saying the truth? How do I know you aren’t lying? How do I know this? How do I know that all of you won’t hurt me again?” >I look her straight in the eyes, and speak to her as sincere as I can >”I guess you will just have to trust me.” >I go about the rest of my day as usual, taking care of various things around the clinic >filing paperwork, sending samples to other clinic, studying diseases both mundane and magical >the usual fare >dinner time comes around, and I find myself becoming hungry again >decide to have more of the stew, since the air is cold and the warm soup will do quite well >I prepare a bowl of it for the harpy as well, mainly consisting of broth Incase her stomach might react violently to heavy solids >I take the bowls of stew to by the harpys bed >her heart rate skyrockets again and her breathing gets fast >she’s scared out of her mind >I set them bowls down on the stand near the bed >”how are you feeling?” >”where is my arm? What did you do with it? Why did you remove it?” >her voice is pleading and sad >I let out a deep sigh and hang my head low >”your arm was too damaged to save, and doing so would have just left it being useless and risk very bad infections. Amputating it was the only reasonable option.” >tears come out of her eyes, but she doesn’t sob >”you should have just let me die. I don’t know why you all keep torturing me like this.” >her face is sad and distant, as if her soul has already died >I try to get her mind off of this by offering her the bowl of soup >”you must be hungry, would you care to eat?” >she shakes her head no and gives a disgusted look >”I won’t let you poison me again, I’ll just starve.” >I shrug and put the bowl of stew to the side >”I assure you it’s not poisoned, but I won’t force you to eat.” >her eyes linger on it as i put it down >I pick up my own stew and begin eating it >”I...have several questions for you. Why do you think I am here to torture you? Why do you want me to let you die?” >the harpy shakes her head sadly >”you know the answer...you know why...you know…” >I let out a deep sigh >”well, even if I supposedly do know, how about you...remind me, I guess?” >she sniffles a little and begins sobbing >and then it all comes pouring out like a broken dam >”you know why...you all found me...you treated me great...and then...the torture...all the torture...I escaped, and then you found me….and then you all hurt me more...and then you let me escape...you let me thought I got away...and then you hurt me more...you kept hurting me...then you let me heal...and then you hurt me again and again and let me get better and let me escape and hurt me again and let me get better and let me escape and hurt me again” >she’s sobbing hysterically, but I let her continue uninterrupted >”and even when I didn’t want to leave and escape you forced me to just to enjoy your sick game and hunt me down again and torture me again and to heal me again. I just want it to be over, I don’t want another stupid game, I just want to die and be done.” >the fit subsided and shes left crying >”I don’t want any more pain...I just want to die” >I set down my empty bowl and sigh deeply >this isn’t going to be an easy road >especially since she believes that I am going to be hurting her >”I...I know I have said this a lot, but I assure you I’m here to help you. I don’t want to hurt you. You need to trust me.” >she gives me a suspicious and hurt look >”how can I trust you?” >that is a fair point >”did you know the other doctors names? The ones that healed you?” >”well...no? I...don’t think I did…” >perfect >”well, allow me to introduce myself. I am Doctor Anon Seward, pleasure to meet you. May I know your name?” >she looks at me hesitantly before nodding >”s-s...Savia...I’m Savia…” >”Savia? Ok then. Are you hungry Savia?” >I offer her the bowl of soup again >she shakes her head no >”I’m not hungry. I’m not going to eat.” >her body thinks otherwise, as I hear her stomach give a load growl >”are you sure about that?” I ask, raising an eyebrow >she grits her teeth and screws her eyes shut >”I’m not going to eat. I told you this.” >her stomach growls again, louder and more insistent >a small tear comes out of her eye >”I’m not going to...I…” >she begins crying again >”do you want the soup?” >she nods her head yes in a Defeated manner >I lift up a spoonful of it to her mouth, and she slowly eats it >she sobs again >”fuck you” she whispers gently >”why?” >”it...the soups good...fuck you…” >despite her anger, she finishes the whole bowl spoonful by spoonful >although still devastated looking, she seems to have become slightly more coherent and a bit of color has returned to her face >with a full stomach, the harpy becomes sleepy looking. her strength having been sapped from her healing >her eyes slowly flicker closed, never being taken off me >when I’m sure she’s asleep, I pick up the bowls from the side of her bed and take them away >when I’m almost out of earshot I hear something >”th-th-th….f..th…” >what? >”th...thank...you…” >I turn back to her with and give a nod >”you’re welcome, Savia.” >the night comes and goes as I would expect >I check on Savia once more. She is awake, but isn’t talking much and appears to be lost in her own thoughts >I tell her to hit the emergency button on the bed near one of her bound wrists Incase she needs anything in the middle of the night >I'll keep the straps on her so she won’t run away in the night >once I gain her trust and she gains mine I will take them off >I lay my head down to sleep for the night, only half expecting a ring on the intercom for help >I wake up in the morning without a problem, my sleep being uninterrupted >maybe maybe it’s a good sign that she didn’t need help >I go to her room to check on Savia >upon entering I notice that she is awake, and still staring off into space >there is a tired weariness in her eyes >they have large bags under them >it’s very apparent that she didn’t sleep at all last night >”how was your sleep last night?” >another rhetorical question that I already know the answer to >”I didn’t fucking sleep.” >I nod my head as I change out the saline bags >”any reason why you didn’t sleep?” >”fuck you, that’s why.” >she seems a little livelier and with more fight >this is good >the soup, antibiotics, and hydration must really be helping her >”you need to sleep in order for your wounds to heal, I would recommend it.” >she shakes her head no >”no, I don’t fucking like sleeping. I don’t want to fucking sleep.” >”why not?” >she just shakes her head and says “fuck you” again >ok then, that’s useless at the moment >”I’m going to be cooking breakfast if you would like any. I have cereal or porridge if you would like some, although I do have some of the soup if you're more feeling towards that.” >she shakes her head again >”I fucking told you, I don’t want to eat damn it. Just...don’t bring any fucking food in here, okay?” >I nod to her and leave, telling her to holler if she needs anything >as I cook a breakfast of blueberry pancakes and some bacon I fill out a prescription for antibiotics for a traveler who’s come down with a form of plague >wash my hands extra well after that occurrence >I save a blueberry pancake and some bacon slices for the harpy >just in case >I finish my breakfast and go to check in on her >the harpy looks like she’s trying not to cry >”I cooked some breakfast, and I was wondering if you wanted some. It’s bacon and blueberry pancakes.” >the harpy just grits her teeth and screws her eyes shut again, giving a firm nod >”I know what you fucking cooked, I could smell it damn it.” >oh >I should have closed the door >”would you care for some?” >she shakes her head no violently >”I told you, I’m not fucking eating.” >her angry defiance turns in to crying >”I don’t want to fucking eat, quit asking me damn it.” >”are you...not hungry?” >she begins crying even more, and she locks eyes with me >”I’m fucking starving. I’m so hungry it hurts damn it, it fucking *burns*. But the poison hurts more...it hurts so much more...I’d rather starve than have the poison again...and again...poisoned every meal…” >she lapses into her hysterical crying again >”...why do you keep torturing me…” >I go and kneel by the side of her bed >”I swear to you on my oath I took as a doctor, I am not going to poison you or hurt you in any way. I am only here to help you. But, I can only do that if you are *willing* to be healed.” >the harpys crying quiets down, and she’s looks at me solemnly >”I...want to be better...I want to eat...I want to feel better...I want to be better damn it…..but I can’t trust you...I can’t fucking trust anyone...you’re just going to fucking hurt me again...all of you are going to hurt me...I just want it to end…” >I grab the harpys hand and give it a reassuring squeeze >”how? Tell me how. How can I help you trust me? I’m not here to hurt you, I want to help you feel better, but how? How can I help you?” >she just cries and looks sad >”I….I…” >she goes sad and without energy, completely defeated >”I don’t know...I don’t know….I’m sorry but I don’t fucking know…” >I let the harpy cry to herself, sitting by her side and comforting her >I get up from the bedside and retrieve her breakfast from the kitchen >have a glass or orange juice to go with it >I bring it into her room >the harpy immediately shakes her head as I walk back in >”I told you I didn’t fucking want-“ >”I know, you don’t want to eat, because of the poison. But, you *need* to eat.” >I sit by her bedside and she stares at the pancakes and bacon >”here, let me show you something” >I cut off a piece of the pancake and eat it infront of her >the harpy is speechless >”there, see? Even if there was poison in it, I would be poisoned as well, and I assure you I wouldn’t do that.” >the harpys eyes flicker uncertainty from me to the pancakes >”a-a-and the damn bacon and juice? What the fuck about those?” >I take a bite of the bacon and drink a sip of the juice >”no poison, see?” >the harpy lets out a deep breath and I see that small flicker of hope in her eyes again >her hand flicks out and get stuck at the restraints >her eyes bore into mine >”I-I-I want some. Please, give me the fucking food.” >I smile a little and slice off a piece of the pancake, holding up to her mouth >Savia opens her mouth and bites it off the fork >she chews the blueberry pancake and tears form in her eyes again >she swallows it and more tears come out >she quietly whispers “fuck” >”are you okay?” >she nods slowly >”yes...it’s…” >for the first time since I’ve seen her, Savia smiles a little >”it’s fucking delicious. I want more, please.” >despite myself, I smile >I cut of more of the pancake and feed it to the harpy >she asks to try the bacon and the juice, and she cries even more >”this is the damn best fucking meal I’ve had in….in...I can’t fucking remember…” >she crying again, but it’s in tears of joy >she’s, and I dare I say this, but she *SEEMS* to be happy >or, at the very least, content >after her meal she lays herself back in the bed >her eyes look heavy >she’s looks at me concerned >”did you...fucking put anything...any sleeping drugs in that?” >I suppress a small laugh >better stay professional >”no, it’s your own body. A nice meal when you're exhausted will make you tired. You can sleep, it’s fine.” >she blinks several times, and her eyes become very heavy >”I-I-is that real?” >I nod my head yes “very real” >she nods a little and her eyes close completely >Savias breathing becomes deep and low, and she finally goes to an exhausted rest >I can’t but help gently caressing her bright green and blue feathers >”rest well.” I gently whisper to her, and then quietly leave the room >I take care of some other patients that are brought in >several adventures with puncture and bullet wounds >someone who was mauled by an ogre >the standard fare >by the midday the harpy wakes up >when I go to check on her she seems to be a little happier >she’s still panicky and a bit nervous, but overall in a much better mood >”how are you doing Savia?” >she lets out a deep breath >”I’m...I’m...not dead…” she says in voice that’s both relieved and suspicious >”that’s excellent to hear. Is there anything that you might need?” >she lets out a deep breath >”my...my face is very itchy…” >she looks at me with both fear and want >”can you please...please scratch my face?” >it’s a strange request, but I’ve heard it before >as I put my hand towards her face Savia instinctively tries to pull away from me >I gently begin to scratch her cheek, working my fingers over the skin carefully >she shudders a little and then lets out a pent up breath >I gently scratch all over the harpys face, relieving the itch >for a single second, she lets out a little coo like a pigeon >Savia gasps when she makes the sound, being surprised >her heart rate and breathing skyrockets >”that’s better...my face feels better…” >she looks nervously at me and bites the bottom of her lip >”could...could I get my restraints...loosened?” >I smile at the harpy >”well, I could loosen them. Or….” >the harpy looks at me panicked >”or? Or what? What is the or?” >”I could take them off completely” >she seems to freeze up >”you’re going to...you’re going to do that?” >”yes, I can, but you have to promise to try not to escape or to not get out of the bed on your own.” >she looks at the restraints and pulls at them >”please please please! I won’t escape I promise, please undo the straps.” >I carefully undo the restraints >Savia sits up in the bed and begins to scratch all over herself under her hospital gown >after scratching herself for what could be an Eternity she lays back down and adjusts herself >”thank you” she meekly days and pulls her blanket up over her face >”your welcome Savia. Anything else you might need?” >she looks down at herself at shakes her head >”no, I’m alright...thank...thank you.” >I smile at her and give a nod >”I’ll be making my rounds, just holler if you need anything.” >as I exit the room Savia calls the me >”Dr. Seward?” >I turn back and look to her >”you’re...you’re a great doctor...thank you.” >I nod back to her >”it’s my pleasure” >Today is a big day for Savia >I’m removing her stitches today >HappyHarpyNoises >I sterilize the stitch area around her bird leg >I can hear her heart rate pick up as I grip one of the stitches with the tweezer and the slowly snip under it >she gives a sharp intake of breath from the pain >”are you alright?” I ask her >she nods her head yes >”it just...it hurts.” >I nod to her >”it will hurt, but trust me, it will feel much better when I’m done.” >she nervously looks at me and then shakes her head >”alright...but...please, be gentle with it.” >I nod to her and lift up the stitch >I slowly glide the scissors under it and snip it >I pull the rest of the stitch out, leaving a tiny hole in the scaly smooth skin >Savia shudders as the fiber slides out >I repeat this for the rest of the ten stitch along the cut, Savia suppressing her discomfort with each stitch I pull out. >I rub disinfectant cream across the wound when I am finished >”that one feel better?” >Savia nods a tiny bit >”a...little, I guess…” >I look at the rest of her body >10 stitches down, around 290 more to go >some of them in more…intimate areas >I removed the rest of the stitches from along her bird leg >when she finally moves it she mentions in a meek tone that it does feel a little better >I finish the rest of her leg before moving on to her other bird leg, repeating the process >I move on from the leg to her upper thighs >the flesh of the thigh is a lot more supple than the bird legs >even more softer than that of a humans thigh >I take extra delicate care to be sure to not cut or bruise her skin any more than it is >I finish removing the stitches on the outside of her thighs and then step back >”Savia...I am going to need you to...allow me to be frank here, but I am going to need you to spread your legs.” >she looks at me concerned >”why? Wait why do you need me to do that?” >her heart rate has spiked tremendously >”don’t worry, there is just a few stitches along there that need removed.” >she seems to calm a little bit, but still is concerned >she looks around nervously for a few minutes, before finally relenting >”ok...but...please, don’t...don’t do anything else >I raise up my hands to show I mean no harm >”just spread your legs and raise your gown a slight bit so I can get to the stitches. You have my word that I won’t do anything.” >Savia nods and moves her legs apart >she slides her gown up a slight bit, but keeps it in a location that allows her to remain modest >I go down close to her inner thigh and begin the removal >the inner thighs flesh is softer than the outsides >almost gelatinous in texture >very interesting >I trail along a stitch removing it, reaching up closer to where her...personal areas are >Savias heart rate on the monitor is going very high >I can hear her breathing quicken >luckily, the stitches don’t go up much higher, and they are finished being removed >I begin my work on the other stitch set when I notice something >there is a strange musk about the harpy >something similar to the hot air my desktop gives off when I am compiling data, saw dust, and the smell of a refrigerators freezer >Harpys must smell strange when they haven’t washed >don’t know why it’s localized down here, but i’m really not putting my attention to that >finish the removal process of the inner thigh and I stand up >”there we are, all finished with the lower half >Savia gives me a look that I almost mistake for disappointment >”oh...done already down there? Ok…” >she seems to be contemplating something but then shakes her head >”uh...Savia?” >”yes doctor?” >”you can...lower the dress…” >Savia glances down embarrassed and shoves the dress down with her wing arm >I chuckle a little at the display >unfortunately, the harpy isn’t going to be finished with moving her dress >I have her hike a blanket up slightly toward her waist and then have her lift up her gown enough so I can remove the midriff stitches >her body is still skin and bones from starvation, but she seems to have the slightest bit more flesh on them >she definitely needs to eat more >but, that is another struggle in itself >a problem for later >I remove the stitches sets and take a deep breath >”Savia?” >”yes?” >”I...need to see your...chest…” >the heart rate monitor skyrockets and her face goes red >”why? Why do you...why do you need to do that?” >she looks very concerned, and her eyes have panic in them >”you have a line of stitches along under your right breast, and I would like to remove them.” >she glances around nervously and then gives a small nod >”alright...I can...do that…” >she slowly lifts the gown up higher, traveling her the bottom half of her right breast where the stitch is >I pull on the stitch and begin the removal process >the flesh of her breast is very supple, even more so that that of the already tender flesh of her inner thigh >she lets out a gasp as the cold scissors graze the flesh >”that’s cold” she says absently >I give a small chuckle at the comment and continue my work >”sorry about this, terribly sorry. Don’t worry, I didn't see any of you when you were under the knife that you would not want me to see. the wounds were fortunately not near any of your...intimate areas.” >Savia nods as I finish up and pull the gown down >”oh...really? That’s is...that’s good.” >I look at Savia and smile >”don’t worry, only a few more stitches left.” >Savia looks at the stump off her wing arm and gives it a little wiggle >”ok...here we go…” >I begin to remove the stitches from the stump, the harpy twitching and fidgeting with each movement >about halfway through I stop and ask Savia if she is alright >”me? Well...it’s weird...it feels strange...I don’t like it…” >”don’t worry, just five more stitches and your arm will be good as new” I say with as much cheer as I can >the harpy looks at the arm sadly, tears almost creeping into her eyes >I realize the stupidity of what I said >”oh, please forgive me ma’am. I didn’t mean to bring up this subject.” >Savia shakes her head >”it’s fine...just...take out the stitches” >I comply and finish removing the stitches from her wing arm stump >she moves around the stump arm, giving it an experimental flap >she hisses in pain at the movement >”it’s so sore...it really hurts…” >”not moving it will do that...here, would you like me to help?” >Savia looks at me concerned as I go wash and dry my hands >”how are you...how are you going to help?” >I go back over to her bedside and bring my hands up to her wing arm >”here, may I?” >Savia looks me in the eye, shaking slightly >”o...okay...do it…” >I take her arm in my hand and begin to gently massage it, giving gentle pressure along it with my fingers >she yelps loudly and hisses in pain >I immediately draw my hands back from her arm >”are you alright?” >Savia shakes her head no, tears coming to her eye >”it hurts so badly...I don’t like the hurting” >”it’s going to hurt a little, but I assure you a little more pain now will save you a lot pain later.” >she glances at me and then to her arm, before giving a nod >”ok...do it.” >I gently take her wing arm stump in my hands and slowly massage it >Savia whimpers in pain, but grits her teeth as I continue >the flesh is very knotted and tough feeling, and I gently work it with my fingers to try and soothe it >Savia whimpers slowly stop, and it’s replaced by a gentle other sound >it sounds a bit like… >a pigeon cooing >it’s very silent, and I’m not even sure it’s there >i finish up the massage and Savia moves her wing arm stump >it’s much more easy moving now, and Savia looks a bit pleased >”it’s...better...thank you doctor.” >I smile back at her and give a wink >”it’s my pleasure,Savia.” >doing my morning rounds >had a group of adventures stay overnight because they ran into an ogre >or, the ogre ran into them >with a club >ouch >get them all discharged and good to go >by the time I get to Savias bed she’s awake >her stitch wounds are all nicely healed >”good morning Savia” I tell her with a smile >she looks at me nervously and nods >”good morning” she says nervously >she’s been opening up to me more >I feel like her trust in me has built up a little >I check all her fluids and make sure she is well >she’s off the antibiotics and detoxing, just a normal saline drip now >”are you feeling up for breakfast or anything to eat today?” >the harpy looks at me disgruntled >”I’ve told you many time that I don’t want anything to eat” >stubborn as usual >”but…” >oh? >”since you will just bring it in anyways...the pancakes from before were good, and the bacon.” >I smile at her >”pancakes and bacon it is then.” I say and give a wink >”WITH BLUEBERRIES” she nearly shouts >I look back at her surprised >”pancakes...blueberry pancakes...please” >I chuckle at the display >I fix up breakfast and bring it to Savia >she eagerly wolfs it down >but not before having me taste each and every bit of it >like a said, trust has been built up a *little* >we still have a ways to go >she finishes the breakfast and is very content looking >as I clear the dishes I hear her speak up >”uh...doctor?” >”yes?” >I was wondering...since I have been here for a little bit...it’s been a long time since I’ve…” >her face is really nervous as she asks this question >”well...since I’ve showered” >ah, I see >well, smell >”would you care to shower?” >Savia nods happily >”yes I would very much like a shower.” >I stand up and set down the trays >”very well, let us begin the showering process” >i set up the bathroom for Savia to be able to shower >shower chair in the middle of the shower so she can sit and be able to clean herself >fresh rags >baby grade antibacterial soap for the healing skin >and fresh towels >everything is ready >I help savia out of the bed and guide her to the shower >she has a hard time walking since this is the first time she’s been out of the bed in a While >help her limp over to the bathroom and let her sit down on the chair >”I’ll allow you to take your gown off while I get the water turned on” >she looks at me nervously, not wanting to budge >”don’t worry, I won’t look at you. On my honor as a medical practitioner.” >I look away and begin turning on the shower as I hear Savia discard her medical gown >shower comes on and I am nearly soaked by the torrent of warm water that comes out >”take your time, there is no rush. The knobs are here if you need to move it, and the head detached.” >I leave the shower area as I hear Savia begin to shower >now, it is time for me to work >change the sheets and blankets on her hospital bed, and get her a fresh gown >once I get her bedding squared away I grab her old gown out of the bathroom >as I walk in I hear something fall >”are you alright Savia?” >”I’m fine, it’s nothing.” Comes her reply >I shrug and begin to walk the gown out to the dirty laundry >a loud thump followed by a yell of pain echoes from the bathroom >this is not good >I drop the gown and rush into the bathroom >Savia is sobbing loudly >I throw open the curtain and find her naked body crumpled on the shower floor, curled up and sobbing >she clutching at her bird like leg >she must have slipped and hurt herself >”Here Savia, let me help” I say as I step into the shower >she doesn’t respond to me, only sobbing and crying in pain >I carefully pick her up off the ground, getting soaked by the shower >I Get a decent look at her whole body as I lift her up >even though she is skinny, eating just a little bit has started to make her fill out a bit >her thighs are starting to become as they should be naturally for a harpy, with a backside to match >her chest is a bit flat, but it is very cute >her emerald green wing is darker from the damp water, but still elegant >and her just as bright green eyes are adorable as they look hopefully at me >very overall petite and cute, but has the size where I guess it should matter >I slap myself across the face mentally >she is your PATIENT Doctor, not someone who is to have their body looked at or thought of in such a way. >shameful behavior doctor, very shameful >I set her gently back on the chair, the harpy using her wing to cover herself up >”may I ask why happened?” >she looks away embarrassed >”I...dropped the soap and was trying to grab it, but I slipped and fell” she says in a bashful tone >”do you feel hurt? any pain?” I ask concerned >she shakes her head no >”just felt horrible initially, but it’s better” >I go and pick up the soap bottle, which has its cap still on >”do you need help with the cap?” >she nods yes, trying to hide her embarrassed face. >I pop it open for her and set it on the shower chair >it’s going to take a bit for her to get used to only having one arm >”I will be just outside the shower if you need anything.” >as I step outside Savai begins to shampoo her hair with the soap, and I close the curtain. >but not before taking a last glance at her backside >to make sure she was safe, of course >I sit out behind the shower curtain, carefully listening to Savia bath >the bathroom is slowly filling with warm steam, and the gentle smell of baby soap >that, plus the strange smell of a wet harpy >damp feathers sure give an odd, but definitely not unpleasant, aroma >Savia is humming to herself as she bathes, making a melody with the running water >it’s a pleasant experience that for three of my five senses >I hear a small cough and Savias wavering voice >”doctor? Could I get your help?” >”what is the problem Savia?” >”I need...your help...shampooing my feathers.” >I stand up and retrieve a towel >”I shall help you as you wish, but first, please places this over you for modesty reasons.” >I want to harpy to be comfortable while I am doing this >this will be an awkward situation for both of us >I pass the towel to the harpy and she takes It >”tell me when you’re ready.” >there is a few seconds of hesitation, and then I hear her voice call out quietly >”okay, I’m ready.” >I take a deep breath and step into the shower >the harpy looks at me nervously as I step in with her >I give a smile at her and step over by her >she extends her wing and looks away >”I can’t wash my wing with...well...itself.” >I get the baby shampoo and lather it up in my hand >”don’t worry, there is no need to explain yourself. I will take care of it.” >I begin to slowly work the shampoo into the feathers, massaging it into the fluffy plumage >i put more shampoo into my hand, finding that the already ample amount only covered a small bit of feathers >I massage it deep in, wiping it throughout whole wing, being sure to scrub it through and get the grime out. >the harpy has gone from being nervous to slightly relaxed as I do this, her eyes closing as she gently hums to herself. >I begin to work my way up and massage the soap into her arm where her feathers meet the skin >the harpy hums happily and I swear I can see a smile appear on her face for a small second >what sounds like gentle coo escapes from her mouth >”are you okay?” I ask, stopping the washing >the harpy looks at me embarrassed >”uh...yes, yes fine. Keep going.” >I keep scrubbing the feathers to my best ability, making them shine a glistening emerald >the harpy is definitely cooing like a pigeon at this point >I chuckle at the sound of it >”are you...enjoying this?” >she looks away nervously, trying to hide her blush >”you’re...doing well. it feels nice being cleaned.” >I finished scrubbing the feathers and begin to help rinse them, working the shampoo out of the plumage. >the wing is completely cleaned >”there you are, fresh and good.” >I turn to leave the shower when I hear her call out to me >”doctor? Could you...wash my back as well? There are spots I can’t reach.” >oh >well, okay then >I grab a wash rag as the harpy leans forward in the chair >i rub in the soap gently on her back, being careful around the sore wounds. >after she is complete soaped up I begin to gently scrub and exfoliate her back, softly scrubbing and massaging her flesh >the harpy coos loudly, and she shivers a little bit at the touch >”go lower, please.” > I comply with the harpy and go down lower, scrubbing down her back >”lower” >I head down even lower, so far down where I am scrubbing just above the harpys rump >”lower?” She asks hesitantly >I look down >if I go lower… >that would mean… >”are you sure?” >she nods yes >I go down lower and begin to scrub the harpys…*lower* backside >she lets out a low breath as I gently massage and scrub the skin of her rear >I look and see her eyes are completely closed and she’s chewing on the bottom of her lip as the cooing gets louder >I guess she is really enjoying this >she opens her eyes and stares into mine as I clean her Lower part >they have a certain light to them, a glimmer that I haven’t seen before >a gentle smile creeps into her face as she comes closer to my face >I feel myself getting lost in the emerald eyes >I slowly stop washing her and I feel myself leaning in closer >we are meet inches away from each other >something has come over my mind >I suddenly feel a crashing realization hit me >I am in the shower >with a Patient >a female patient >while massaging her >and I’m mere inches from her face >I clear my throat and lean back >”I...I think you are cleaned enough, don’t you think?” >the harpy blinks several times and seems to come to her own realization >”uh...uh yes! Yes that is...much better thank you.” >I leave out of the shower to let her rinse >after several more minutes the water turns off and I help her wrap a dry towel around herself and step out >I step out and let her dry of before handing her a fresh gown >She needs a little help putting on the gown, and as I help her I catch a glimpse of her bare harpy rump >NO >BAD DOCTOR >I guide her back to the bed and the harpy lays down >she completely exhausted and nearly falls asleep immediately >”thank you doctor” she says as she slips off to sleep >after she is asleep I immediately head to my private room and strip off my wet clothes before immediately taking a shower >a VERY cold shower >bad doctor >very bad doctor >the shower is cold >not as cold as my own feelings towards myself >I am a trained and licensed medical professional >I am sworn to care for and heal patients >and now… >the shower with Savia… >damn it >I’ve been stuck with much more straightforward and lascivious patients than that >elves, drow, dwarves, even dryads who have been very upfront about their desires >many who made *very* tempting offers >every time I had turned them down, as any professional should >but now… >with that harpy… >DAMN HER >no… >it’s not her >it’s me >I was the one who was looking at her, showering her > **I** need to hold myself up to my own standards >I slipped up, it is my own fault >maybe I should go apologies to Savia about this >perhaps she would feel better >warm up the shower a bit before getting out and toweling off >I need to do my rounds >fill prescriptions and send out paperwork while Savia sleeps >the thoughts of the shower keep coming back to me >it’s embarrassing and shameful >I *need* to apologize for it >however… >how would I do that? >hmm… >harpys do appreciate food very well >maybe a specially made dinner? >come to think of it, I never asked Savia what she liked eating, I usually just fed her what I had cooked for myself >I feel this will be a great way to not only apologies, but to also bond with her and gain her trust >excellent >like killing two harpys with one bolt! >... >perhaps I shouldn’t use that saying to describe it >I finish my paperwork and activities >dinner time approaches >walk in to Savias room >She is awake and coherent in her bed >she’s staring out the window, looking at the forest >she quickly turns and looks at me as she hears my footsteps >her heart rate only jumps a small amount and she doesn’t hyperventilate >this is a very good response >”hi doctor” she says in a sleepy voice >”hello Savia, did you sleep well?” I ask her >she nods with a small smile >”yeah, The new sheets and gown feel nice.” >she looks around nervously >seems like she has something on her mind >oh no >perhaps it’s what happened in the shower? >I go to say my apology when she cuts me off >”uh...yeah, so, about what happened in the shower…” >oh dear >it seems she beat me to the punch >”well...doctor...I’m sorry.” >... >beg pardon? >”it looked like I really freaked you out there in the shower when I was staring at you. You jumped a bit and got scared. So...yeah...sorry to freak you out...thought you had...something on your face...I guess…” >oh >she’s...apologizing...to me… >well, that’s a turn of events >she looks away towards the window, not meeting my own gaze >”so...yeah...sorry about that shit…” >”worry not about that, you didn’t scare me. I was just...nervous from your fall that you took.” >Savia let’s out a deep breath >”well…thats a relief.” >she seems to be a little happier >good >”While I’m here, I want to ask you a question.” >Savia seems interested >”yeah, what’s up doctor?” >”I was wondering about dinner, anything in particular you would like? My pantry is extensive, so most options are available.” >the harpys eyes light up >I can hear her stomach growl >”really?” >”most definitely” >she smiles widely >”steak...and potatoes...an-and BREAD! Yes, please, steak and bread is great. A-a-and broccoli -WITH MELTED CHEESE ON IT!” >she rattles all this off like a machine gun >slightly taken aback by this sudden enthusiasm >the harpy seems to realize her own actions and shrinks back >”p-please...I'm really hungry for all that.” >give her a smile and a nod as I stand up >”if that’s what you want ma’am, then that’s what I shall cook.” >Savai smiles and shuffles deep into her bed >”thanks...doctor.” >she seems to get lost in thought and closes her eyes, slipping off to sleep >swear I can hear a slight, quiet cooing of some sort >put it from my mind as I go to make the food >make fresh dough and put it in the oven to cook >wrap potatoes in foil and place them along with it >sear a steak in a skillet with a lot of butter and garlic >begin to steam the broccoli while I do that >take the steak and let it begin to sit and rest >take out the bread and potatoes to cool a bit while I make the cheese sauce >mix shredded cheddar with some Parmesan and cream and melt it all down >makes a nice thick sauce >plate everything up on trays >get some milk for the harpy and a mug of tea for myself >take the food to Savia’s room >I can hear her stomach rumbling as I step in >she sits up happily and smiles from ear to ear, showing off her pointy teeth >set her tray down so she can eat from it >take a seat by her bed to enjoy the meal with her >”thank you so much!” She happily chirps >Savai immediately picks up her fork and stabs into a piece of broccoli >she pulls it up to her face and stops >she hesitantly looks from the broccoli to me >her face is a little scared >”please...try it first...just in case” >ah >old habits die hard >I go to take the fork >she stops and shakes her head no >”I’m feeding it to you...for...reasons…” >oh? >well, if she insists >smile at her as she feeds me the price of broccoli >”see? No poisons.” >Savai smiles a little >”uh...how about in this one?” >takes her knife and cuts off a chunk of the steak >she feeds it to me in the same manner >”perfectly non-toxic.” >she repeats this with the bread and potatoes as well >gives me a sip of milk >she giggles a little each time she does this >once she’s done checking for poison she immediately begins to devour her food >gave a her a large helping, and she’s demolishing it >swear I can hear little moans each time she eats it >puts nearly half a stick of butter in her baked potato and a massive dollop of sour cream >bites into the cheesy broccoli and the sauce dribbles down her face onto her feathers >she sets down her fork and wipes the cheese sauce off herself with the bread before eating that >can’t help but chuckle >Savai is smiling and giggling to herself the whole time she eats >if she’s not looking at the food she’s looking at me >gives me a smile whenever she can >this is the most beaming, bright, and happy she has ever been while in my care >can’t help but smile back in return >she finishes her plate and cleans it with her remaining bread, before eating the bread >laugh and tell her ”that dish is cleaner now than it was when I took it out of the cupboard.” >Savai laughs back >”it was a really good meal, best thing I’ve had in ages.” >she lays back onto her hospital bed, seeming to be happy and content >a wide smile is on her face, and I can definitely hear cooing now >”this has been one of the best days I’ve had in a very long time.” She says happily >”I don’t know if anything could make it any better.” >oh really? >hmm... >I get an idea >”how about dessert then?” >the harpy bolts upright >”YOU HAVE DESSERT?” >Her eyes are open wide and wild >stifle another chuckle >”yes, chocolate cake. Would you care for some?” >she lets out a chirp of happiness >”DEFINITELY WOULD CARE FOR SOME!” >leave the room and quickly come back with two slices of chocolate cake, and two mugs of dark coffee to go with it >set down Savias slice in front of her >before I can even sit down she begins cutting of large pieces of it with her fork and shoveling it into her mouth, washing down the bites with coffee >”this is great” She says between bites >she’s nearly crying from happiness >hold on a second… >”Savia...did you notice something?” >the harpy looks up from her cake >”did I notice what?” >a give her a grin >”you didn’t have me try the cake first.” >Savai looks down at the cake, and then back up at me >”no...I-I-I didn’t.” >she stares at the cake, her face looking concerned >she blinks a few times, and then speaks >”I remember the last time I had chocolate cake...just thinking of it since you said it...the last time I had chocolate cake...it was with them…” >Savais hand is trembling >I can hear her heart rate monitor begin to go faster >this is not good >”the cake they gave me...it was toxic...it caused me so much pain and weakness…” >she trembling all over now >she looks up at me horrified >”you...you poisoned this cake...didn’t you?” >what? >”you knew I wouldn’t have you try it….so you poisoned it…” >before I can say anything Savias hand darts for the knife from dinner >she grabs it and plunges it towards her stomach >grab her hand by the wrist, getting a bunch of feathers in my grip as well >struggle for a few seconds keeping her from slamming the steak knife into her own gut >eventually her arm weakens and I remove the knife from her hand >Savai begins sobbing and crying, hiding her face behind her wing >”I don’t want the torture anymore...why can’t you just let me die?” >she slaps herself in the head, eyes and face red with tears >”I was so stupid to trust you...I was so stupid to enjoy my life…” >she hits herself in the head several times, yelling “stupid” each time she does this >I’m almost to taken aback to do anything but watch her fit >”just let me die ...I don’t want to feel the poison...not again…” >she looks at the knife in my hand >”let me kill my self...please let me…” >she gives a humorless laugh at my confused expression >”of course you won’t though...you only want to hurt me more...can’t let me end your fun…” >she hides behind her wing and cries more, sobbing hysterically >I look at the knife in my hand >I know what I must do >”you want to kill yourself? You don’t want anymore of the pain?” >Savia looks from behind her wing and nods yes >I grab her hand and force a scalpel into it >”stabbing yourself in the stomach is a very inefficient way to die. You would have to be very lucky to kill you self instantly, and if you didn’t I would have plenty of time to stitch you back together.” >still holding her hand, I raise it up the side of her neck by her throat >the edge of the blade is barely resting on her skin >Savai looks confused and frightened >”if you *really* want to kill yourself, push the blade into here. The knife will sever your jugular, and you’ll bleed out in just a few seconds. I wouldn’t be able to save you if I tried.” >I let go of her hand and step back >”if you really want to do it, then fine, I will respect that. I took an oath to never harm a patient, but I won’t let a patient suffer needlessly if they don’t feel it’s worthwhile.” >Savai looks from me to the knife in her hand >she swallows hard >”ok...I’m going to do it...I’m going to kill myself.” >she pushes the blade a little closer to her skin >I can see her sweating a lot >her breathing is labored >she’s shaking violently >her hand won’t move any closer >she looks at me with tears in her eyes >she screws them shut tight and grits her teeth >she tries to push the blade into her skin >it barely touched the spot where her artery would be >Savai lets out a sob and drops the scalpel onto her bed >I rush over and quickly take it from her while she breaks down crying >”I don’t want to die….I’m sorry I don’t want to die...don’t let me die doctor, I’m sorry.” >wrap my arms around Savais crying form >”it’s alright Savia, you’ll be fine.” >she sniffles and nuzzles her head into my chest >”I don’t want to kill my self...I’m sorry...you’re a good doctor, I didn’t mean the things I said…” >I stroke her wing and hold her tight >”it’s okay Savai, I understand. You’ve been through much trauma.” >I hold her tightly as she continues crying, trying to give her positive reinforcement >after an hour, the sobs quiet down >Savai is sitting with her face nuzzled into me, wing wrapped around my back >gently hold her tight and rock her back and forth >slowly let go of the harpy and step back >her face is bright red and tear stained >she tries her best to smile at me >she sniffles a little and wipes her face on her wing >she lets out a humorless chuckle >”well...I guess I ruined desert…” >laugh a little bit at the remark >give her some tissues to wipe her face with >”Since you didn’t eat you cake, would pudding lighten your spirit a little?” >the harpy looks at me curiously >”chocolate?” >”yes, chocolate.” >she smiles >”yeah...that would be nice.” >go to the kitchen and bring back two sealed pudding cups and spoons >the harpy slowly opens hers >she goes to take a bite from it >”hold on” I quickly tell her >take a small spoonful of her pudding and try it >”if you won’t remember to have me check for poison, then I will.” >Savai laughs despite herself >”thanks doctor...your very…I really...” >Savia seems to get lost In thought >”ah...never mind, I just want pudding.” >whatever thought Savai had is quickly drowned in chocolate pudding >she’s cooing again >”thanks for dinner doctor, we’ll have to do this again sometime.” >”how about tomorrow?” >Savai smiles and blushes >”that would be great.” >been a few weeks >Savia has spent most of her time just lying in bed >our meals together have become a favorite occasion for her >she still needs me to test everything before she eats it though >Sometimes she makes merry of it and feeds it to me >this makes her giggle a lot >I notice the harpy has greatly improved >she has put back on a great deal of weight >she seems to be nearly normal in size for a harpy >definitely has filled out in the places where her feminine nature seemed fit >not that I was looking at her in these places… >purely documentation for...medical reasons >yes >now, we should live onto the next part of her recovery >physical therapy >go into Savias room >she’s awake and staring out the window like she enjoys doing >watching the birds fly and twitter >the gentle breath of the wind through the tress >the clouds moving in the sky >”Good afternoon Savia.” I say as clearly as I can >she looks over at me with a smile >her heart rate monitor doesn’t even go up a bit >”morning doc, how’s it going? Time for lunch?” >”not just time for lunch yet Savia. Instead, I have something special planned for today.” >Savia looks at me warily >her heart rate goes up a little >”what type of *special*, doc? I...that word...it doesn’t sit well with me much…” >ah, fair point >”well, I meant a walk through the forest followed by a picnic near the stream as part of your physical therapy. How does that sound to you? >Savais face lights up >she bolts upright immediately >”that sounds Fan-fucking-tastic!” >exactly the reaction I needed >I help Savia get ready for our little excursion >let her borrow some spare clothes that really don’t fit me >some jean shorts I accidentally shrunk in the wash and a shirt that is a size or two too small on me >when I hand Savia these clothes she gives me a concerned look >”haha...hey, where’d you get these? Wife out of town or something haha?” >”oh, it’s just spares I keep in case someone needs clothing, for people much like yourself.” >Savia gives a slightly relaxed smile >”so, that mean no on the wife thing?” >”no, no wife” I answer sheepishly >don’t really find many women out in the forest alone as a doctor >not many that want to stay, at least >Savia shrugs >”well, that’s great. She won’t be wondering why you’re gone.” >fair point >she puts on the clothing while I’m out of the room >while she’s getting dressed pack a lunch of sandwiches in a cooler with some drinks >Harpys need to eat a lot >also make sure to have my revolver with me >I found Savia maimed in these woods, so I’m not sure who or what is out there >but it still should be safe enough for this excursion >meet back with Savia in her room >See that she’s struggling to pull on the shorts >her shirt is barely on as well >AngryHarpyNoises.mp4 >”damn thing...gotta...why the fuck?” >”here Savia, let me help.” >help her hike up the shorts and button them >assist her in pulling down her shirt >take a step back and look at Savia as she makes little adjustments and tucks in the T-shirt >the jorts wrap around her thighs and legs well enough, allowing her bird legs to show and be free >the tucked in shirt is a little baggy, but she seems to enjoy it >Savia looks at herself in the sink mirror >she smiles and give a chirp before looking back at me >”I look fucking great!” She yells and does a little bounce on her bird feet >bounce… >... >*OH* >I realize something with that movement >or...two smaller but regaining their size somethings >... >the harpys isn’t… >...wearing a bra... >which allows for… >*free movement*, so to say >of…*things* >I smile at her and nod at quickly look away >I can’t mention that I noticed it, less I come off looking very unprofessional >Savia just seems happy enough to be wearing something besides a hospital gown >then she looks at an empty sleeve and frowns >she shakes her torso a bit, causing the loose sleeve to flop around >”well...that’s weird…” >she gives a shrug >”I guess I’ll have to get used to that” >she looks from her sleeve back to me >a smile seems to return to her face >”eh, whatever. Come on doc, I’m ready for that walk in the woods.” >I carry the pack of our stuff while Savia follows me >she’s very interested in the entire hospital I run >takes her time walking >well, she has a major limp to her step and seems a little unsteady >but she’s walking nonetheless >I open up the door and step out into the fresh air and sunlight, Savia following close behind me >... >at least, I thought she was >Savia is stopped at the door >she’s looking outside terrified >she’s frozen like a statue >I walk back over to her >”Savia? What’s wrong?” >she looks at me terrified and takes a few steps back shaking her head >she opens her mouth and speaks in a barely audible cracked whisper >”I…I don’t like the outside…” >Savia retreats further inside terrified >I follow her back inside >she sits down on one of my lobby seats >there’s a far off look to her eyes >”I don’t want to go outside…” >she looks at me worried >”why...why do you want me to go outside?” >Her breathing comes heavier and quicker >it seems she’s having a fit of some sort >”why are we going outside? Is it because you’re going to do something to me or-“ >I lay a hand on Savias shoulder >she immediately goes quite >”Savia, I told you, this is just part of your physical therapy. The only thing I have planned is a walk through the woods and then lunch by the stream. I swear on my life that is all.” >Savias breathing calms down a little >she gives me an embarrassed look >”sorry, just...yeah, I freaked out.” >I squeeze her shoulder >”it’s fine Savia, I know.” >She gives a weak smile >”Can we still do that picnic Doc?” >I smile in return >”there’s nothing more I would like to do.” >I step out of the door again >Savia is lingering a little bit behind me >she’s looking out from the door frame like a baby bird looking from its nest >She looks to me expectantly >I motion for her to follow >she nods and takes a few steps outside >she looks around >Savias face immediately lights up with a smile >she spreads her wing and does a spin in the sunlight >Her bright green feathers shimmer like jewels >she stands in the glowing light, basking in it >Savia lets out a deep sigh >”wow...I didn’t realize how much I missed outside…” >she looks to me with a smile and rushes up to my side >which is a little slow with her hobble >”come on doc, why not show me around the good side of the woods a bit?” >me and Savia begin our walk through the woods >I stick to a very well known path to the stream that is very open and well lit >the going is slow with Savias limp, but I don’t mind taking a bit of time >after all, the forest is beautiful >it’s not like a completely enchanted forest, or a glowing twilight forest, but it’s still nice >oak and fir trees towering around that occasionally let a leaf drop to the ground >their arching canopies filter he sunlight and let rays of gold fall through >bushes of flowers that sprout in a rainbow of vibrant colors >dandelions carpeting the floor off to the sides of the path >you can smell the aroma of the plants on the air >I look at Savia >She is completely enraptured by nature >her smile is wide and genuine >occasionally she’ll stop to shuffle over to a patch of flowers to smell them or pick a few >every so often though, she’ll have a small fit >nothing sever, just some peculiarities >a sudden shiver and her feathers poofing out defensively >twitching wildly >her head darting around as if looking for something >but during these fits she’ll just look over to me and seem to calm down >well, whatever works for her works >I’m just glad she’s recovering >after a long time of walking through the beauty of the forest we make it to the stream >Savias face immediately becomes amazed >she stares at the rolling waters of it transfixed, admiring the glassy, rippling surface >although it’s a smaller stream, it’s very nice >I roll out the blanket onto the grass underneath a tree and set down my pack >it’s sunnier here, but still shady under the trees >the perfect spot to relax >Savia looks back at me expectantly >”hey, doc? This water...it’s not bad or anything, right?” >bad water? >what does she mean? >”no? I think the water is quite fine.” >Savias face lights up >”GREAT!” >I hear a loud splash and am sprayed with water as she dives into the stream >I wipe my face off and look at Savia >shes swimming and splashing around in the stream like a child >I can hear her laughing as she dives under and resurfaces >Savia stands up in the stream, the water coming up to her waist >her shirt is soaked through with water and is clinging to her body, exposing her every curve >She looks to me and smiles >”Hey doc, want to join?” She asks with a smile >swimming with a soaking wet harpy? >that is a very tempting offer… >I really shouldn’t though… >I feel water splash toward me again >Savia is giggling as she holds out her wet wing >she uses the soaked feathers to flick more water at me >”come on doc, you really shouldn’t let an amputee swim alone.” >... >She has a very good point >pop off my socks and shoes >I stand up and walk over to the side of the stream >step in and get my ankles wet >Savia is sitting down in the water staring at me >she smiles before giving me a chirp and then croons a bird song >the way the water is on her with her song reminds me of some strange, bird like siren >she smiles at me then looks at me ankles >her face turns to a confused frown >”hey doc, what’s that?” >what’s what? >I look down at me feet >all I see is my reflection in the waters >”I don’t see anything Savia.” >she leans up a little more >”look closer, it really weird and right there.” >I’m genuinely intrigued and not just a little concerned at this point >lean in a little closer to look for what she’s seeing >I see just mine and Savias reflection >there’s a glimmer of green on the surface of the water as Savia swiftly moves her arm >I feel something grab at the shoulder of my shirt >I’m quickly pulled off balance and into the stream >I feel myself crash onto Savia into the water >in my surprise I accidentally inhale half a lungful of water >I push myself up out of the water coughing and hacking >Savia is laying under me laughing >she’s rattling on about how badly I fell for it >She stops her laughing and stares me in the eyes >one of them is that beautiful glittering green, while the other has become slightly cloudy grey, like a brilliant emerald sun being blocked by overcast weather >it still is beautiful >I can’t help but just stare back into her eyes >the harpy smiles and wraps her wing arm around my neck >she begins to slowly stroke my wet hair >”hey doc, you alright?” She gently coos out >I come to my senses and shake my head >push myself back up onto my knees >the harpy is still attached to me so she gets dragged up as well >”ah, yes. I’m fine. The fall just shook me up.” >the harpy laughs and releases me >she falls back into the stream and lays in it >Savia gives me a mischievous glance >she sits up >”hey doc, can you help me up please?” >I shoot her a wary look and stand up >she smiling widely as she sticks out her arm for help >I grab her hand and pull Savia to her feet >as soon as I pull her to her feet she immediately wraps an arm around me and pushes me down into the stream >I’m covered by the cold water >I push myself up again, this time with a laughing harpy laying across my chest >Savia grins at me, looking into my eyes >”got yah again doc.” >ok, this has gone on long enough >place my arms under the harpy and stand up, hefting her into the air >she gives a surprised chirp as I raise her >I carry her to the deepest part of the stream >proceed to quickly dunk and raise her out of the stream >the harpy coughs up some water and laughs at me >she has a happy grin on her face >”do it again!” She shouts happily >I dunk her under the water, raising her and getting another happy laugh >do this several more times, each one making the harpy happier than the last >on the last one she wraps an arm around me neck, causing me to go under with her >under the water I feel something soft press against my cheek >I raise my head up, not sure what it was >the harpy comes out of the water giggling happily >I feel the side of my cheek >if it weren’t such a strange guess, I’d almost think that it was lips that had touched me >we play around in the stream more >splashing, dunking each other >eventually the harpy slows down and lays herself along the shallow bank, smiling contently and cooing >I lay down next to her, panting and out of breath >we lay there in the water, basking in the sun >while I’m still laying down Savia eventually raises to her feet >I hear a wet flappy sound as she walks away >I take it as my cue to get up as well >as I get up I hear a wet clothes garment hit the ground >droplets of cold water splatter against me >look to my side >the soggy lump of a shirt is sitting on the ground by me >Savia is facing the sun, her bare back towards me as she stretches out humming a birdsong >I watch in stunned awe as she slowly shimmies out of her shorts, revealing the boxers I lent her >she tosses the shorts to the side >she slowly hooks her feathery hand into the waistband and begins to peel the soaked boxers from her skin >she pulls them down slowly, exposing her porcelain colored rear >I quickly look away at the water >”hey doc! Catch!” >out of reflex I face >And i turn just in time to get hit in the face with the soaked boxers >Savia laughs I as fumble with pulling the garment off my face >I throw it to the ground and playfully scowl at her >and then I stop >and I realize >Savia isn’t wearing anything >her entire bare form is exposed for the world to see >I can see her entire side profile illuminated by the sunlight >she is facing the sky, eyes closed and her wing spread >light shimmers off her emerald feathers >she reminds me of a lovely sunflower that is taking in the last light of the day >her body has definitely filled out more from the last time I saw it bare >her curves have definitely come back, and her breasts have filled out much more >I can appreciate how remarkably beautiful she is >I snap myself out of my own musings with that though >Shake my head and look away >I do not need to look at Savia like that >I am a doctor, and a gentleman, not some lustful bastard >I should never even consider a patient in that way >”doc, you doing okay?” >Savias voice draws me >I turn to face her >and then quickly look away as I catch a glimpse of her nudity >”I’m fine Savia, just...I guess I am a little cold.” >I hear her walk up behind me >she wraps a wing around me >I can feel her chest press into my back >the warm, soft flesh feels startlingly different from my own cold akin >”how about you take off your clothes then? Don’t want my doc catching a cold because he was all wet.” >the way she says “my doc” sounds very personal >it doesn’t mean I am her doctor >it feels like it’s insinuating that I am hers >I feel my blood rushing elsewhere at a proclamation like that >the idea of just me and Savia under the open sky. Naked, enjoying the others touch across our bodies. >lovingly caressing her while staring into her two different eyes >her clinging onto me tight, the warmth of skin on skin >it is too much >I feel my head swimming with the thoughts >”y-your right, I should change...and I also should bring you a towel.” >I break out of her embrace and walk away, not turning to face her >I go to the picnic basket I packed and pull out the towels I brought just in case this happened >I extend the towel to Savia >”here, please, wrap this around yourself, so you don’t catch cold” >”oh...okay then…” >Savia takes it in a way that is almost sad >watch out of the corner of my eye as she wraps the towel around herself and lays down on the large blanket >I go behind a nearby tree and remove all of my own damp clothing >dry myself off with the towel before wrapping it around my waist >come back to the picnic area >Harpy is laying on the blanket, warming herself in the sun >I sit down on the blanket next to her >the sunlight feels good on my skin >I feel a slight drowsiness come over me >like the forest is from the story of Rip Van Winkle, and I’m going to slip off to sleep for hundreds of years >I end up laying down next to the harpy >I close my eyes, absorbing the sun and resting myself >”Doc, the sun feels great…” lazily croons the harpy >I hear her wet towel flop off her >she coos loudly like a pigeon >open my eye slightly and glance over >Savia is now nude sunbathing >I quickly avert my eyes >close them tight >focus on the warmth of the sun on my skin >the sound of the water flowing >the chirping of the birds >birds… >Savia >damn it >curse my wandering mind >calm myself down enough to where I slip off to a gentle sleep >nap for a small amount of time >feel the most comfortable I have been in very long >wake up because I feel my breathing get harder >it’s like someone is resting a weight on my chest >In fact, my entire body feels this way >oh dear >I hope the demons of sleep paralysis have not come back to haunt me >I slowly open my eyes and wiggle my toes >hmm, seems to be alright >I can still freely move my head >I look down towards my chest >right into Savias eyes >the mismatched pair of emerald and cloudy jade look up back at me with a strange intent behind them >her chin is resting right on my chest >her chest is pressed into my midriff >her single wing is splayed across my shoulder, and her fingers are drawing shapes on my cheek >Savia smiles at me, showing her pointy teeth >”enjoy your nap doc?” >I’m at a momentary loss of words >my brain refuses to comprehend the situation >she leans her face closer to mine >”Watcha staring at doc?” She says in a sultry tone >she licks her tongue across her teeth >I feel my body get warmer >a sweat breaks out across my head >I feel blood surge to my loins >I swallow hard and give Savia a confused smile in return >she drags her body across my chest >I can feel the softness and warmth of her chest moving up me >Savia is mere inches from my face >I can feel her hot breaths on my cheeks >”why are you sweating so much Doc? Something getting yah hot?” Savia croons our in a knowing tone >I sputter and blink rapidly as I try to come up with an excuse >”I’m...I’m just overheated from being in the sun…and dehydrated…” >”so you’re pretty thirsty then? Aren’t you?” She remakes in a sultry voice >she leans in close, putting her lips right up to my ear >”I’m feeling thirsty as well Doc. Why not help me make it better?” >her breath tickles my ear and sends shivers down my spine as I hear every wet lick and smack of her mouth >nearly all the blood rushes from my head downwards >my vision swims and my head goes light at the imminent prospects of what is going to happen >”Alright then, here, I packed drinks.” I quickly say in a rushed tone, all but shoving Savia off me >I stand up fast, being sure to hide my growing arousal >I don’t look back at Savia, who I know has forgone her towel >I kneel down to the picnic basket and begin rummaging through it, looking for the bottles of water that I packed >before I can find them I feel a wing arm wrap around me from the back >Savia presses her body against me >she leans up her head right against my cheek >”are you sure what you’re looking for is in there Doc?” She asks slowly >I nod my head >”I am sure I packed the water bottles in here.” I insist to her >I feel a pair of lips press right up against my neck, sucking on the flesh >I gasp and shiver from the sensation >Savias lips part from my skin with a gentle pop >”Doc, were both adults here...smart, full grown and mature adults...I think we both know what I’m talking about.” >I shake my head to clear the intrusive thoughts I am having >”n-no no, the water is in here, I think we are both dehydrated.” I say in a town that shows I am beginning to lose my cool >I shove aside the lunch meat and bread, revealing the silver metal of my revolver >push the revolver aside and grab the chilled bottle thermos beneath it >”Doc, what is that?” I hear Savia ask >her voice has lost all of its sultry edge >instead, it is deadpan and hollow >I look at her face >her eyes are wide and her mouth is sealed shut >”what is what Savia?” I ask her, genuinely not knowing what she means >I can feel Savias body shaking as she slowly removes herself from my back >”don’t play bullshit Doc, you know what I’m talking about.” She says with a wavering voice >I turn around to face Savia and she falls backwards to the ground >she grabs her towel from the blanket and tries to cover herself up with it >”D-don’t get any fucking closer...y-you stay away!” She sputters out in a fearful tone.” >her eyes are wild and I hear her breathing become labored >”Savia, what’s wrong?” >she shakes her head in disbelief >”you dragged me out her to hurt me again, didn’t you? That’s why you wanted me out here. You don’t want to heal me, you just want to maim me again, don’t you? You just want to keep playing your sick twisted game!” >Savia is sobbing at this point >she’s curled up under the towel trying to hide herself >I look back at the picnic basket >it dawns on me what she was so afraid of >”Savia, are you scared of my pistol?” >”YES IM SCARED OF YOUR FUCKING GUN YOUR GOING TO USE IT ON ME!” >she screams this violently and then sobs >”I don’t mean to yell….I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to yell don’t hurt me please...please I’m sorry don’t hurt me…” >she’s whimpering and sobbing horribly >and it is because of me >I’m at a loss for words >I don’t know what to say or do >after all this time… >she still hasn’t recovered >a minutes passes >she quiets down >”Doc...please…” I hear her say in a pleading yet hollow tone >I look over at Savia >she has her head out from under the towel >her face is red and a mess from the tears >”Doc...if your gonna hurt me...please just make it quick? And can you let me die...just let me die already please.” >that pleading…. >I've heard it so many times now >it hurts to hear it >It means she’s still injured >it means I still haven’t repaired her >I have failed her >... >no, not yet >I haven’t failed her yet >I grab the revolver out of the picnic basket >open the chamber and dump out all of the rounds into my hand >”Savia.” I say to get her attention >She looks up at me >there’s a grim understanding in her eyes >”please...make it fast” she says with a half smile >”I trust you to do that….I trust you to make it fast.” >I shake my head >”I’m sorry.” >Savia flinches and screws her eyes shut >I throw the revolver down in front of her >she looks at it hesitantly before glancing up at me >I show her the rounds in my hand >before throwing them into the forest brush >Savia looks at me bewildered before grabbing the revolver off the ground >she looks at the empty chambers >she sets it down before looking up at me >she gives me an awkward smile >and then begins crying again >I bend down to her and place a reassuring hand on her shoulder >Savia wipes the tears from her eyes and laughs humorlessly >”I...well fuck. I just seem to ruin everything, don’t I?” >”it’s…well, it’s a trying process. You’ll get through it.” I say, trying to reassure her >Savia sadly nods >”you probably only had the gun to keep me safe, right?” She asks in a disappointed tone >I slowly nod >Savia wraps herself up in her towel and grumbles something under her breath >she looks at me with pleading puppy dog like eyes >”can we still please have lunch together? Here? At the water? I promise I’ll try not to freak out again.” >Despite my better judgment, I ruffle the harpys hair >”yes, let’s have lunch.” >Me and the Harpy have a quiet lunch at the creek >not much conversation to be had >she still seems shook up about the incident >occasionally I can see her looking at me, staring strangely >I guess it’s because she feels awkward about what happened >I would as well from what had happened >Poor girl >that harpy never deserved for this to happen to her >Finish up lunch, and manage to get a smile out of Savia when I show that I packed putting >Pack up from our trip, the harpy sitting on the ground eating pudding in a towel >She puts back on her slightly damp clothes >Glad the sun was able to dry our clothing, even just a little bit >The walk back is quiet and slow >Savia is tired from spending all day at the creek >At one point we have to sit down and rest for a minute >Savia is practically out of breath >She looks at me with flushed cheeks, a sleepy look to her eyes >”Hey Doc, wouldn’t it be funny if you carried me back?” >I look Savia up and down >although she has put on some healthy weight, she still would be no problem to carry >”If you feel it is necessary, then sure.” >Savias face lights up >”wait no shit, really? You’ll do that?” >she lets out a big sigh >”oh thank fuck, I’m exhausted, you’re a life saver Doc.” >Scoop up the Harpy, doing a princess carry, keeping my hand supporting her back and another near her legs and thighs >she’s a little surprised by my movements >let’s out a giggle of happiness >I carry the harpy like this for the rest of the way back >She giggles and coo’s constantly, occasionally brushing my face with her feathers >I want to think nothing of this >I really don’t >But after earlier… >God where is my head? >I shouldn’t be having these feelings >Luckily Savia becomes drowsy, and stops touching my face >She passes out asleep like a child, covering herself in her single wing for warmth >Make it back to my medical center after hiking through the woods >The sun is setting at this point, and it is becoming twilight >our “Lunch” at the creek turned into an all day affair, so it would seem >Hopefully nobody came to call during all this >Finding a dead body on my doorstep would do more than somber the mood a little >Luckily there is none such thing >Walk back through the hospital to Savias room >Gently wake her up as I lay her down on her hospital bed >She comes to drowsily, only half awake >She slips out of her semi-damp clothes into a fresh hospital gown >Luckily she can do that without assistance >She flops back into bed and curls up under her blanket >”Doc, I’m pretty cold.” she mutters lazily >”Can you warm me up please” She says with half a smile in a half serious, half joking tone >I fetch her another blanket, laying it across her her body >Savia gives a smirk that's part happy, part disappointed >”Doc, come on now, I know you're smarter than that. I mean with your body.” >Savia lifts up her blanket a little, shimmying over >”There’s plenty enough room for two in here, it’ll be nice and warm. Nice and close. Just me and you, don’t you want that?” >Her tone is tired but inviting >The idea of sharing a bed with this harpy fills my mind >I suddenly shiver, feeling how cold my still damp clothes are >To lay next to each other in an embrace, sharing warmth >If nothing else just for the body heat >It sounds tempting >Damn it >Damn myself >I grit my teeth >”I think I will just have a warm shower Savia.” >Savia looks a little disappointed but lays down >”the offer is on the table Doc, I don’t mind waking up to a bed buddy.” >I know, stuttering a little >”I-I will… Keep that in mind.” I say, more than meaning it >”Have a goodnight Savia.” I wish her before turning to leave the room >”G’night Doc, thanks for the fun day.” >I close the door and quickly make my way down the hall to my quarters >Strip from my damp clothes and step into the warm shower >The feeling of the hot water is welcome, warming up my chilled bones >It gives me time to reflect >on her >on Savia >What has been up with her today? >What is it with these desires of hers? >I feel flattered, no doubt >But still, the fact that she feels this way towards me… >And that I match those feelings... >No, bad doctor >No thinking of the patients that way >You take care of her, you keep her safe, you make her better >Just like you have done with every other patient who has been through your doors >You don’t lust after them, you don’t consider their offers to join them in bed >Why… >Why do I feel this way now? >Any of my other patients, any other… >There was a few elves over the years that wanted me >A poisoned dryad that offered me a spot in her forest >Even a Tiefling mistress who offered me a spot as her “personal physician” and part time lover >every time I said no >It wouldn't feel right >I didn’t even give their offers a second thought, it was an immediate no >Am I slipping? >Have I finally began to crack over the years? >I’m not old in any way, but maybe that fatigue of loneliness is getting to me >There does come a time in every mans life when he needs to settle down and have a family… >Maybe I should >Yes, a woman, and a family >I can’t help but crack a smile >It does sound nice >Coming home at the end of a day to a loving woman >Seeing her belly rounded with our child >Holding her tight at night, knowing that we have each other >The feathers of her wing tickling as she gently caresses me… >Feathers… >Emerald green feathers… >... >What am I doing here >I shouldn't feel this way >my brain is playing tricks on my own mind >It’s the Florence Nightingale effect >I only feel this way because I know she isnt able to take care of herself >I don't actually want her >I don't >It’s all just a foul mental trick >... >Right? >Sit in the shower for a long time, trying to think of nothing >Flashes of emerald green feathers still fill my mind with no regard for what I want >Two mismatched green eyes staring at me, one brilliant green and the other a cloudy jade >I eventually can’t stand to be alone with my thoughts and get out of the shower, toweling off >Put on my pajamas and lay in bed, hoping that maybe sleep will bring me respite from what I feel >Unfortunately, sleep refuses to come >The sandman has taken his leave, and instead, I keep thinking of how empty my own bed is >How much warmer they would be with a body next to me >One that has fluffy feathers and a smug smile >Maybe it is better that I don’t sleep >Unless dreams of an unwholesome nature come to me >Having these past waking hours filled with thoughts of her have been enough for me, I don’t wish for her to plague me in my sleep >I eventually feel sleep slowly come to me, its pleasant sensation of nothingness filling my mind >Only to have it snatched away by the buzzer at my bedside going off >A patient is in distress >And I know exactly who it is, considering she is the only one >I hope she isn’t going to try and convince me to join her >God knows I might be too weak to resist her offer a second time >I click the buzzer on, waiting to hear her try and seduce me in her sultry tone >”D-doc? A-are you awake? F-fuck, I n-need your help.” >Her voice is pained, almost sounding on the verge of tears >She is in agony >Doctor you and your mind were incorrect >she needs help >Slip on my coat and practically sprint down the hall >The harpy is in trouble, and I must help her >Open the door to her room, turning on a dim light >”Doc? Oh thank fuck your here.” she manages to croak out weakly >I look at Savia and immediately see the problem >Her normally alabaster skin is now as red as a ruby >It looks like she has been choking back tears >”Savia...Are you… are you in pain?” >She grits her teeth and nods yes >I feel so stupid >She has been inside for God knows how long, not exposed to the outside world >Of course she would suffer such a bad and painful sunburn after being outside all day without sunblock >It like throwing a block of unmelted cheese straight into the pan >I can only imagine the pain she is in >Luckily I have just the treatment she needs >”wait here, I will be back soon.” >I rush out of the room, going to my supplies closet >I search through my stock, checking for exactly what she needs >I find it, grabbing the plastic bottle filled with the blue jelly like substance >better take two to be safe >I come back to the room, making sure to keep the lights dim for both our eyes sake >”Here, I have this” I say, showing her the bottle >”what the hell is that?” >”Aloe gel with menthol for cooling and lidocaine for pain relief, extra strength. Sometimes adventurers will pass through with particularly inhospitable burns and need it for treatment.” >Savia manages a weak smile >”God that sounds amazing.” >She reaches her arm over to take the bottle from me >Her face immediately twists in pain and she lets out a sharp hiss >The harpy lowers her arm, cursing under her breath >”Doc… can you please… you know…” >She looks at me with pleading eyes >She knows she won't be able to do this by herself >We both know this >I nod >”Very well, I shall be of assistance” >I peel back her blanket gently as to not harm her further or irritate her burn >I gesture to her gown >”do you mind if I…?” >She shakes her head no >”Please. Anything.” >I pull up her gown, exposing her midriff >Sure enough it is as red as the rest of her body >Sunbathing fully in the nude for several hours sure has an ill effect on the uninitiated body >... >In the nude… >oh >Oh dear >Oh no >She is sunburnt everywhere >EVERYWHERE >I have a brief moment of lucidity >”wait here” I manage to mumble before wandering into the hallway >I come back clutching a towel >”For modesty's sake” I say to her >I pull down the blanket without looking, before hastily placing the towel over her pelvic area >I look down and am relieved to see that her delicate area is not exposed to me >I pull the blanket completely off >I see her bird like harpy legs connected to her thighs, and even the scaly bird like skin has become inflamed and red >This might be a more than two bottle job >Now >Where do I begin? >... >Where SHOULD I begin? >I look to Savia >”Where does it hurt the most? Where would you like the aloe first?” >Savia looks to her midriff, giving a small sniffle of pain >”Please, my tummy, rub it on my tummy please.” >The stomach area it is then >Squirt a gentle amount of aloe onto Savias stomach >She flinches, letting out a little squeak >”Fuck, thats cold.” >Apply apply a healthy amount of the gel to my hands, coating the palms and fingers heavily >Immediately get to work >Savia lets out a hiss and a moan as my hand begin to rub across her midriff, spreading the blue healing gel across her reddened skin >”Oh god, that feels great Doc.” she groans out >I can feel the heat radiating off her skin like a stove as I spread the gel across her midsection >Her skin feels surprisingly soft and malleable >Savias abdomen has a slight amount of definition to it, which is surprising given her lack of exercise >Of course, it could greatly be in part due to the fact that she is also still recovering from malnutrition >I slick down her sides with the aloe, applying more to my hands as I make it to her hips >Savia gives a giggles as my fingers rub her sides and upper portions of her hips >”Doc, that tickles!” she says happily >She can laugh without being in pain, which is good >The aloe is working its magic >her entire midriff is now slicked with a layer of aloe >her skin is shimmering like a jewel >”where next Savia?” I ask her >Savia looks down at her body >”my fucking chest, then shoulders and arms” >I give a nod >Put more Aloe on my hands >rub up her midriff more >then I get to where her pulled up gown is >and it is covering her chest… >and she wants me to… >... >oh dear >”what are you waiting for doc?” >her breathing is a little labored >seems like every inhale and exhale is a pinch of agony to her >ok doctor, you’re going to have to do this >grab her gown and slip it off her, exposing Savias bare chest to me >well… >she surely has grown out since the last time I’ve seen her >the healthy diet of not being starved has definitely helped her...proportions >they aren’t the largest to ever grace a woman’s chest, but they are very perky and shapely >to think that her two breasts were pressing against my body not even a few hours earlier sends interesting sparks of curiosity through my body >I wonder… >I wonder what they would feel like in my hands… >no, bad doctor, no touching the Harpy! >”doc, the burns not getting any better, please.” >oh, right >I *need* to touch her >oh no >Well, let’s get this over with >begin rubbing the aloe near the beginning of her ribs, before slowly moving to the under part of her breasts >even here it is burned bright red >coat the valley between her breasts, taking care to not actually touch the globes of soft harpy flesh >my pinky glances into the side of one >the soft skin smooshes inwards >I hear Savias breathing skip a breath >I wait for a comment >something about me wanting to cop a feel, or take advantage of her >but there’s nothing >not even a mention of me looking at her >interesting >do I feel… >certainly I’m not disappointed, right? >I ignore my own thoughts as I finish slicking down her chest and sides >that only leaves… >the problem areas >better to do this now >coat my hands more in aloe >gently squeeze some out onto her bare breasts >Savia lets out a small squeak >”damn that aloe is cold” she chuckles >she’s staring at me intently >biting the bottom of her lip >”well, go on…” >take my hands and place them on her breasts >the skin squished gently against my touch >it feel like grabbing two lumps of soft, warm dough >slowly begin the process of massaging and kneading the aloe into her skin >my fingers gently rub across her bare nipples >Savia lets out a small chirp >I come to a jarring stop >”Savia? Are you…” >”yeah it’s just cold, keep going.” She insists >”Really, REALLY get in there doc, don’t worry about being gentle.” >I raise an eyebrow at her statement >Savias face looks like it became a shade of red darker >”you know, to spread the aloe, really work it in…they’re burned badly you know…” >she gives me an exaggeratedly pouty face >I give her another gentle rub >My eyes are locked with hers >feels like it would be a sin to look away from those emerald eyes of hers >continue my ministrations to her body >gently rubbing and kneading, treating her breasts like dough of heavenly bread >Savia is biting her lip >her sharp teeth grinding into her skin softly >she’s enjoying this >b-because of the aloe taking her pain away >nothing else >”is the pain...better?” I ask >Savia nods a little then stops >a knowing look comes to her eyes >”you know, it could use more aloe...just...massage more in...please.” >but I thought I put enough… >well, if she insists >besides, it’s not like I don’t enjoy this >I mean >enjoy helping a patient in need >yes, exactly that >squirt more aloe onto my hands and keep rubbing down her chest >Savia closes her eyes, leaning her head back >there’s a smile on her face >I can feel her breathing getting heavier >I start paying more attention to her nipples, making sure to rub my hands across them as I massage the aloe in >each time I do Savia tenses up >I can hear her trying to stifle little gasps and moans >all her pleased sounds make me want to keep going >to make her into a shuddering, gasping mess >I want to pleasure this Harpy >... >What am I doing >am I really taking advantage of a patient because she is in pain? >even if she is enjoying it it doesn’t make it right >I take my hands off her chest >Savia lazily opens her eyes >clear my throat >”I think...that I should move onto other parts.” >Savia gives a pouty look >”Doc, I still think you missed a spot on them.” >she reaches for my hand >then lets out a hiss of pain >she curses under her breath and looks at her shoulders >”ok, aloe in other places first, but my tits are going to need more later.” >move on up to her shoulders >I never noticed before, but they have freckles on them >little sun kisses >gently coat them before moving down to her arm >rub the aloe into her skin, working it below the feathers >Savia has her eyes closed and is relaxing >not in pleasure, but in genuine relief >now, that is finished >and it’s time for… >her lower half >god help me >move down to her bird like legs >they are burned and swollen looking >The scaly skin is inflamed >this will genuinely take a real massage to work the aloe into >begin rubbing the bird skin with the lidocaine aloe >Savia is giggling the whole time >”doc, that tickles too much, you’re doing it on purpose!” >the Harpy wiggles as best as she can >it makes applying the aloe a little difficult >”Savia, I’m not doing it on purpose.” I say in a tone that is a little more than firm >Savias laughter stops >”oh...ok.” >Her face looks dejected >she’s not looking at me >she’s trying not to cry >that wasn’t very nice of me >I smile as best as I can >”*this* is me doing it on purpose.” >before Savia can respond I begin to tickle the bottom of her feet >Harpy begins laughing out loud >she kicks her feet gently as I refuse to relent my assault >she tries sitting up to push me away, but is unable to >eventually her laughter just becomes a silent choking sound >I finally stop >Savia is still laughing and gasping, trying to recover from the aftershocks of my sneak attack >while she does that I finish putting on the aloe to her bird legs >then is the next part >her thighs… >harpy thighs… >Harpy thighs are among the softest things that can ever exist >I remember that as I sink my hands into the flesh of her legs >it feels like marshmallow >the skin soft and tender, as if I were to grip it too hard it would tear from her bone >I rub the aloe into the skin of her thighs >I feel nothing more than the desire to smash my face into them >to have them completely wrapped around my head and be lost in them >god what is wrong with me? >the Harpy is smiling as I work the aloe into her thighs >it’s a smug grin >she knows I am enjoying this >and who wouldn’t? >her skin perfectly melds around my hand like squishy dough, my fingers practically half sinking into the meat of her thigh >I don’t know what magic makes Harpy thighs like this, but it is proof God exists and wants us to be happy >my hands reach up to near the pelvis area, where the towel is >I want to remove it >I look to her face for permission >she gives a nod >I slowly remove the blanket, exposing her delicate area >strangely enough the Harpy has no pubic hair >instead there looks to be small, downy feathers that are as green as her wings >the feathers cover her well enough, keeping her from being fully exposed >I feel a small ting of disappointment at this >doctor… >come on now >rub aloe along her upper pelvic area, keeping my hands away from her more delicate parts >once that is done, it is time to take the plunge >move my hands down to her womanhood >Savia lets out a very loud moan as I apply the aloe >the sound echoes in my ears >it is awakening something in me >like something trying to escape its cage >gently rub along her soft, downy pubes, more for my own enjoyment than her relief >I am disgusted in myself, but I can’t stop >slip an aloe covered hand downwards, massaging the cooling gel in between her thighs where the is still red >I can feel a hot, damp warmth emanating from her crotch >Savia is giving me *those* eyes >filled with desire and lust >she wants this badly >god I want this as well >”Doc…” she says in a low, knowing tone >”come on doc, it won’t bite” >... >to hell with it >I place a small amount more aloe on my hand >use both my hands and massage it into her inner thighs, just below her entrance >Savia is smiling happily >Shuddering and giggling with each touch >I want to tease this Harpy until she is moaning and begging >then I want to please her until she is nothing more than an exhausted, drooling wreck that is laying passes out in this bed >maybe, just maybe, I will be laying besides her >I slide my fingers up closer >barely rubbing the outside of her entrance >Savias eyes are filled with excitement and desire >we both want this >we botH NEED this >it has been driving us insane >and I am going to finally do it >there is the crashing sound of a door being flung open >that is my front entrance >it feels like someone has dumped ice water down my back >Someone is coming in >”H-hello? Is anyone there?” >sounds like an old man >the voice is panicked and scared >I remove my hands from in between Savais thighs, rubbing the aloe off my hands into a towel >”wait here” I tell her >Savia looks confused and disappointed, but accepts the statement with a nod >now is not the time to touch the Harpy >now is the time to be a doctor >Rush into the lobby of my clinic >There he is standing there, some old man >Balding, bushy bear, all wrinkly >holding a- >... >holy lord in heaven >what the hell is that that he is holding? >That isn't right >He’s holding what might possibly could be mistaken for a Foxbat Harpy >Like a harpy, but instead of a bird it has bat parts >I have no idea what happened to this creature >it looks...awful >She almost reminds me of what happened to Savia >She looks pale, emaciated, just a bag of bones >there's a strange slimy substance all over her, and she appears to be in the middle of a seizure >I usually would ask more questions but I can only spit out “what happened to her?” >“I don’t know doc, I was driving into town when I found her in the middle of the road, I almost ran her over” >Damn >what the hell is wrong here? >How does this keep happening? >“she needs emergency treating” I manage to mutter out >Don’t even stick around to get a statement from him >Rush her into an emergency care room >I feel the same way I did when I first found Savia >I need to help this creature >restructuring what was once this… foxbat was difficult >I don’t even know where to begin on even thinking about what happened to this poor creature >looks like it had been starved for weeks and was severely dehydrated >hooked up IVs with antibiotics and painkillers >dumping as much fluids and electrolytes into her as possible >she had… *things* inside her birth canal >black spines, like from an insect >their removal was difficult and nauseating >second degree vaginal tearing from passing something large >nothing steroids and antibiotics won’t take care of, but still will be very uncomfortable >her entire colon seemed to have been inverted and prolapsed somehow >the surgery to correct that was interesting, as I’ve only done it a few times before >after fixing that up I put her on oxygen and place her in an intensive recovery room >seems like I won’t be getting much sleep tonight >luckily the Foxbat seems to be stabilized >peel off my surgery outfit and shuffle off to my room to take yet another shower >Pass by Savias room >”hey doc, everything alright?” >Savia sounds tired and concerned >peak in to her room >She’s sitting up, showing that her sunburn is better from her flexibility >I give a nod as an answer >”everything is fine Savia… how are you?” >she gives me look over and laughs >”well, doc, I know you’re lying. You look like you went to hell and back.” >well, she isn’t lying >”intensive surgery. A patient was in a very bad way. Always tired me out.” >Savia gets a knowing look to her face as she looks over herself >”well damn, you certainly have had your work cut out for you.” >”It is what it is, Savia, it’s the life I chose.” >Savia seems to become curios >”sooo, what was wrong with the victim? Er, patient?” >Harpys >so blatant and truthful >”a lot of things. A lot of painful things. Almost reminded me of you in a certain way. For your sleeps sake, I will tell you in the morning.” >Savia seems a bit disappointed >”oh, well okay doc. Get some sleep alright? If you… I don’t know if you need help or some shit I’m here.” >A patient helping out a doctor? >how quaint >”I’ll… keep that in mind Savia. Now, you get some rest. I’ll see you in the morning.” >Savia gives me a forced smile >”yeah, you too.” >shower again and lay down in bed >I’m feeling exhausted >pass out to a dreamless sleep >wake up in the morning >no notifications that the new patient was unstable in the middle of the night so I was able to have a full sleep >Go out and check on the new patient >she’s still asleep and recovering from surgery >looks a little healthier than last night >the fluids, steroids, and antibiotics must be working >not to mention the fact that she is… >better now >ugh >what an awful situation >my mind wanders back to the man who brought her in >damn me for not having him stick around for questions >he could have gave me information on what happened >or maybe he knew too much >never know with these crazy bastards >I think… >if he comes back and his story doesn’t check out... >I’ll introduce him to my .357 >an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure >but that is for a different time >go back to check on her again >Sit in the room, waiting >I want to be here when she wakes up >no need for a freak out >The Foxbat slowly wakes up >she’s groaning and crying >it’s like she’s waking up from a nightmare >she bolts upright screaming >not the first time I’ve seen this but still a bit disconcerting >she’s been through some severe trauma >she looks around wildly >”where am I? What’s going on?” >she settles her eyes on me >”Who are you? Why am I here?” >she hides herself under her blanket >I can hear sobbing >”what’s going on?” >time for an explanation >well, at least the best explanation I can give >”Settle down, no need to be afraid. You are in a hospital recovering from surgery. A man brought you in last night. You were severely injured, malnourished, and poisoned. He dropped you off in my care.” >The Foxbat looks at me weary but calm >”so I’m here, and you treated me?” >give her an affirming nod >the foxbat looks at me confused >”what… what exactly happened?” >oh dear >I wonder why she is asking me >”I was hoping to ask the same thing to you. Do you remember what caused you injuries?” >the foxbat rubs her head, looking as if she has a horrible migraine >”I’m not sure… I remember walking down a street and seeing a house… and then…” >a sudden look of realization crosses her face >her cheeks suddenly burn red with embarrassment >”oh… that… that was stupid…” >oh? >well, now I am curious >”what was, as you say, stupid? Care to inform me? It would help with your treatment.” >the foxbat looks at me concerned >”it was nothing. I swear, nothing. It was just a house.” >hmm… >perhaps a party she wasn’t supposed to go to? >or maybe it was a meet up with someone she shouldn’t have been seeing? >damn I wish that old man was here >I would be reaming him for answers >perhaps he knows what might have happened… >ask the bar more questions >Name, where she lives, where her family is, if she knows the old man who brought her in >apparently her name is Amapola >for the uninitiated, Spanish for poppy >Apparently she lives out in the upper city, and her family is unaware of where she is or where she was going >worst of all, she has no idea who the old man was, or why she was with him >interesting… >”tell me, Amapola, what day today?” >she looks out the window >”well… if it’s daytime… and I went out last night, then it is Wednesday?” >.... >Wednesday… >now that’s not good at all >”now this might come as a shock, but… it’s Saturday” >Amapolas pupils dilate >she shakes her head >”what? Are you saying I’ve been out for… three days?” >while I would say yes, I can’t >I grab the calendar off the wall >”Amapola, can you point to the date you went out for your walk at night?” >Amapola points to Wednesday >Wednesday nearly two weeks ago >just as I feared >she has been gone for about eleven days >and has no memory of what happened >of course, judging by her ailments, maybe that is for the best >I am not sure I would like to remember everything that happened to me if I was in her horrible situation >slowly explain everything to her >Amapola looks like she is about to have a panic attack >tears are forming in her eyes >she looks like she’s about to cry >I give her reassurance >place a hand on her shoulder >”Amapola, do not worry. You are alive and well- er, well enough. You do not have to worry though. You can easily get in contact with your family, and have them come pick you up when you’re well. You are much more lucky than some.” >Amapola let’s out a sob and shakes her head >”lucky? How am I lucky?” >”well, there is a Harpy here in a very similar situation to yours. She was tortured for an ungodly amount of time and remembered every last detail of it. She had horrible trust issues for the longest time, and would even starve herself because her every meal was poisoned. In fact, she lost one of her wings and even an eye in a very terrible incident. You are lucky to be relatively unscathed and have both wings useful.” >Amapola lets out a sniff and wipes a tear off her face >”wow, she sounds like she really got shafted.” >I grimly shake my head >”you have no idea.” >Amapola seems to be in a slightly better mood >give her another look over, being sure to see that she is recovering and there are no visible complications >luckily, she is alright, and no complications have arisen >tell her I will be back later with food >what a terrible situation this is >walk down the hallway thinking >I will be needing to contact her family, but eventually >she seems unwilling to talk about what led up to this >I wonder why she was at that house... >or why she was out so late… >perhaps a runaway? >she didn’t seem to concerned about family >maybe it was the family who did this… >it’s not uncommon for that to be the case >abuse in a family… >”Yo Doc, that you?” >the voice snaps me out of my musings >who is that? >I look over my shoulder >the Harpy is waving at me from her bed >right, Savia >I was too preoccupied this morning for her >”good morning- er, afternoon Savia.” >She gives me a grin and laughs >”too busy to talk to your favorite patient huh? Not even a good morning before work?” >she winks when she says that >I shake my head as I walk into her room >sit down at the chair by her bedside >”actually yes, I really was.” >Savia has a cocky grin >”well just don’t forget again, or I’ll start to hate yah.” >she punches me in the shoulder playfully with her wing before rubbing it >”I’m just kidding you doc, don’t yah worry.” >she gives another laugh >I can see a little concern in her eyes >that is new >I wonder why? >”I’ll try to not forget.” I say >Savia rubs my shoulder more >”that’s great. Now not to be a bother, but where the fuck is our breakfast? I know that we both are probably starving. Can’t have my favorite doctor not taking care of himself.” >come to think of it, I am famished >last thing we really ate were the sandwiches at the creek >”how about some lunch?” >The harpy gives a gleeful chirp >”hell yeah doc, you make a good lunch.” >go to the kitchen and begin making lunch >since we missed breakfast, let’s do some brunch >take out some large pieces of sourdough bread >heat up a skillet with garlic butter in it >toast the sourdough >add some slices of provolone and cheddar >make sure it gets melts >add the top layer of bread and make sure it gets toasted >wake up other skillet >crack a few eggs >sprinkle some salt and pepper >cook them to sunny side up >flip them >finish them to over easy >slice up some fruit for a fruit salad >kiwi, peaches, plum, quartered strawberry, Pineapples, blackberries, and bananas >lots of bananas >why do I have so many of them? >luckily, most bat harpys do have a penchant for fruit >foxbat harpys doubly so >sprinkle a little sugar over the top for a slight added sweetness >pour up three glasses of tomato juice, as well as three glasses of water >There, all ready >get a cart to put the food on >Roll it up to Savias room >She’s staring out the window as I open the door >The instant she looks at me her face lights up >”Damn Doc, took you long enough. I thought service here was better.” >She says it with a smile and a wink >”R-really though, thanks for breakfast. You know I’m just joking with yah, right?” >I give Savia a nod >”No worries, I understand.” >I pass Savia her plate with her grilled cheese, eggs, and fruit salad. >Time to deliver Amapola her food >Judging by her gaunt figure she will be very appreciative of it >Turn to leave the room >”Doc? Where are you going?” >Look back to Savia >She seems confused >”I need to deliver lunch to the other patient. She is quite literally starved.” >Savia’s mood seems to drop >The glimmer to her eyes dulls for some reason >”So, we ain’t eating lunch together?” >I shake my head no >”I’m sorry Savia, but I have to supervise the other patient first.” >Savia’s jaw drops a little but she quickly closes it back up >”Ah, I see. No fucking matter, just go check on whoever that is.” >Savia stacks her egg into her grilled cheese and bites into it >she chews half heartedly before setting the sandwich down and waves me away with her single wing >I turn and walk out of the door >That was an interesting exchange >Savia seemed much less…. Excitable today >She didn't even want me to check her food for “poison” like she usually does >I wonder if this has to do with her sunburn or maybe a lack of sleep… >I should ask about her health and feelings later >For now, I need to attend the bat >Bring the food in to Amapola >She is more than happy to receive it >Have her start out by sipping the tomato juice and eating the fruit salad >She seems like she is able to handle solid foods pretty well >Eventually give her the grilled cheese and over easy eggs >I eat as she starts into that >During the meal she actually begins some small talk, much to my surprise >”So, Dr. Seward? Why are you out here in the forest? City is a little bit away, why not be there?” >That is an interesting question >”Being farther from the city allows me to help the local adventuring population. Many people just starting out or coming back from quests wander through this way, allows for me to help where it is necessary. I’ve seen one too many patients who would have not made it if they had to wait the additional amount of time it takes to get to the city.” >Amapola just shrugs as she stuffs a banana into her mouth before cutting into the egg, the golden yolk dribbling out onto her plate >”Fair point I guess. Doesn't seem like you got a lot of friends out here though.” >.... >Well, I will admit, that is a little rude >But, I don’t think it is meant to be that way >”It does get rather lonely out here, company of all sorts is often very appreciated. You get many fantastic tales when dealing with adventurers.” >The foxbat finishes her grilled cheese, wiping up the rest of her egg yolk with her crust >She downs the rest of her water and tomato juice >Stacks her dishes on her plate and hands them to me >Now that lunch is over, it is time for more questions >”Tell me, Amapola, you mentioned a house earlier. What happened at this house?” >Amapola rubs her temples and groans >”Ugh, yeah. The house. As far as I remember I was walking down the street, there was this old run down house, and I went inside it.” >She shrugs and shakes her head >Has a really grumpy look on her face >very peculiar >Like she's angry at something >”After that? What happened?” I press >She looks at me >She seems to be thinking >”Uh… there was a light… very bright light… and then… I woke up here. That’s it.” >Her eyes nervously flicker back and forth >very strange >”And youre sure there was no one else involved?” >She shakes her head no >”Nope. Not a soul.” >Interesting… >She is not telling the truth’ >Actually, she is, but not the whole truth >Leaving out key parts… >Perhaps there was somebody home… >I manage to get a street name from her, as well as a general area >And then I ask about her family >Amapola shakes her head >”Yeah, I got a fam. But they're too overbearing. Almost abusive in a way with how harsh they are.” >”even so, would you wish for me to contact them? I am certain they are very worried about you.” >Amapola seems to consider my option >”I’ll think about that. In the meantime, I’m just going to chill here. It’s a nice set up you got.” >tell the foxbat that If she needs anything just to let me know >She says she will take me up on that offer >In the meantime, I think I should do some private investigating >I walk back down the hallway to my room >Switch my doctors coat and everything for my practical going out outfit >Which in turn is just a beige coat that has a pouch for my revolver and several extra rounds for it >Time to go out >>I walk down the hallway again >”Hey Doc, what's with the get up?” >I look to my side >Oh, right, Savia >I wave to Savia as I finish putting on my coat >”heading out Savia, don't wait up. I need to… investigate something.” >I see Savia nod >giving a little frown >”is it… for the new patient?” >ah >smart deduction >Harpys are more clever than they seem >”indeed it is” >Savia looks disappointed >”well… you come back soon alright? Better not be gone all night. I want you back- IN IN TIME FOR DINNER! Yeah… back in time for dinner.” >I give Savia a wink, and a nod >”I’ll be sure to not be long. I’ll try to be back in time to make dinner.” I tell her with a smile, knowing that might just well be a lie >the city is a ways away >I always prefer walking, especially around the forest >you miss so much when you move too quick >and yet, now is not the time for patience >my grim curiosity needs to be settled >that nagging thought about that damn old man >I set out on my ct125, the bike easily zipping me along the dirt path >the forest passes by in a green blur as I travel, my eyes set ahead, goggles and scarf wrapped around my helmeted head >safety first, of course >I cannot let my patients suffer, especially if it were my own carelessness that put me out of commission >the trip is long, the forest slowly clearing by the hour, the dirt road slowly becoming more and traveled >the path narrows as it twists and turns, before expanding, and eventually I make it to a lonely asphalt highway >I take a right and zip along the lane, trying my best to remember just where the location actually is >the road eventually takes me to the city >and it is… for the lack of better words, a city >there are many reasons why I work as a doctor in the forest >for one, the adventurers >they must be taken care of >having a clinic in the forest is convenient, it makes sure they do not have to travel too far to get their ailments taken care of >another, more selfish reason though, is that I loathe the urban sprawl of the city >especially the grimey, grubby parts where the fox bats address is taking me >the evening sun gets lower as I ask about and search for the area >taking me even deeper into territory that is most unsavory in the falling twilight >the “hood”, as it could be called >luckily most of the individuals here pay me no attention >only casting warry glances as I walk along the most deserted of areas >a doctor is a doctor after all, best not to mess with them >I wind up at a grungy apartment home building >made of brick, and three stories tall >unlike the other buildings in the area, it seems to be owned by a singular individual, rather than rented out to multiple groups >most interesting is the fact that it’s the only building in this line which doesn’t seem to be abandoned or condemned >I take a look up and down, before knocking at the shabby door, paint flecking off with each tap >I see a light turn on inside near immediately, followed by the sound of footsteps tapping on the floor >after a few seconds, the door opens, a chain keeping it from being barged through >”Yeah, what’s up? Who is it? Are you the pizza man?” Asks a reedy voice >pizza man? >interesting >”Sorry sir, I am not. The name is Doctor Anon Seward, I’m from a clinic. I seem to have become lost, and was wondering if I may be invited inside to recuperate my senses.” >I hear nothing from the inside >no breathing, no movement, no nothing >then, slowly, a low hum >”One second.” >the door closes, and there’s the sound of a sliding lock >it opens widely, some sort of interesting fellow standing on the inside >taller, reedy, twitchy, yet surprisingly clean and well put together >an odd look to his eyes, which are a little too wide, and a strangely crooked, all too friendly smile >”No sense in letting a good doctor get mugged, come on in, it would be my pleasure to have you here.” >he invited me into his house >it’s clean, sterile, well lit, moody >a clear contrast to everything outside >nice wooden floors, darkly painted walls, many book cases full of documents and binders >and oddly enough, the walls are lined with picture frames >pressed into them are notes, and samples of fur, insect wing patches, and downy feathers >if it wasn’t under any circumstances, I’d like to think that he was some form of eccentric scholar >and definitely not someone related to a certain foxbat which came into my care >he asks me to take a seat, and says he’ll get us refreshments >I oblige by sitting on a red recliner chair >I can hear him rummaging in a kitchen area, glasses clinking, a fridge opening >”So doc, what brings you into town? Anything in particular?” He asks distantly >I take a look around before answering, looking at those picture frames more >there’s something off about them >”Work actually. Was gathering information on a patient when I got… sidetracked, to say.” >he walks back in carrying two glasses of some reddish brown liquid, ice clinking in the cups >”not the best place to get caught alone in, you know there doc? Good thing you came here.” He tells me, passing me off a glass >I take it as he sits down at an opposite chair, looking at me with a wide smile, sipping at the cup >I take a look at the beverage >looks and smells like a sort of fruit tea, and yet… >mine is not like his >the ice is sunk to the bottom of the glass, not floating >there is a faint, bitter smell which is most off putting in recognition >the liquid even seems a bit viscous as I absently swirl it >”tell me, the type of tea, what is this?” I ask him >I can see him raise an eyebrow, looking at his own >”uh, oolong strawberry, I think. A good local blend from one of the far off forest bazaars.” He says >I click my teeth loudly, setting it off to the side >”A shame, really. Terribly allergic to oolong.” I say with an exaggerated shrug >I can see the man visibly frown, shrugging as well >Like hell I am allergic to oolong >rather, I am much avoidant towards the chemical roofies which this beverage contains >now this here… >this creature I am dealing with… >he’s a bastard alright >”Ah, we’ll, your loss then. So, you say you’re about for a patient. What takes a doctor all the way out here to the city when your patient is elsewhere?” >I give him the most pleasant smile I can >”my patient came from this area, allegedly, according to their own words. Terribly sick. I am looking for a potential cause of the ailments. Unfortunately, I haven’t found anything yet. >the man nods, taking a big swig of his drink >”I see, man. Crazy how things happen. How is she doc? Are her injuries and sickness healed at all?” >I give him a cordial smile, leaning back in the chair, my eyes fixing on his >”The patient is alright. Stable, awake, better than most.” >the smile he gives me makes my teeth itch >”Wonderful, really.” He says, his tone overly enthusiastic and happy >now this bastard >he’s given me all the information I need to know >it was him >he’s the old man from the other night >a disguise no doubt >How else would he know my patient was female, and she was not located in this city? >not to mention, that she was grievously injured >just by that cocky, nasty look on his face >he is an awful person >you can see it in those eyes, with that awful smile >it was him >a bastard always wants to find out more about his crimes… >and then, a thought creeps in >I stand up from my chair, pointing at the wall hangings >”Do you mind if I take a closer look? I am curious.” I mention >he gestures widely too them, standing up with me >”Be my guest, they are conversation pieces after all.” >I stroll up to the first one and study it intently >it looks like a bat wing >oddly familiar in tone, texture, color… >but something is off >a nagging suspicion about it >I glance at another one, silently inspecting it >”Any questions about them?” I hear the bastards chippy voice ask >I remain silent as I look at those frames… >Slowly, ever so slowly, I can feel that nagging growing >that nasty realization >it makes my head swirl >my stomach itch and burn >I look closer at the pictures on the wall, and those framed samples >none of the are whole pieces >not of any small species >they are larger samples >sections taken from a large creatures wing or flesh >HUMAN sized creatures >”These samples… where do you get them from?” I ask, trying to keep my voice even >I can hear the smile in his tone >”I hand harvest them myself from all sorts of creatures I find. I like… biology, in a way. Performing little experiments.” >I nod slowly, walking along, studying the different samples, each one making my nausea grow >portions of leathery lizard wing, sections of insect flying appendage, and dozens of dull, worn out feather pieces >I stop >I feel my heart not beat faster, but rather freeze all together >in an above average quality frame, with excited notes next to it, are several long, brilliant, light blue and emerald feathers >the feathers from my dreams >the feathers I see every day >the ones which I painstakingly stitched and cleaned >I feel my hands trembling >”Ah, those ones pique your interest?” I hear a distant voice say >I nod slowly, dumbly >”Where did you find these?” I ask, the words barely escaping my mouth >I hear a laugh >the awful sound echoing in my mind >”Ah, funny story, I harvested them from the forest nearby.” >my hand twitches >there’s a brilliant flash >the sound of thunder echoes in the house, shaking the walls, my ears aching and ringing >I blink >my .357 is in my hand >I have just enough awareness to see that bastard collapse down, his body folding like a marionette with its strings severed, a fist size chunk taken from the side of his head >he crumples in on himself awkwardly, a gurgling emanating from his throat as red pools under him >my hand slowly lowers my gun as I stare at the twitching, groaning corpse >I feel my teeth click, a “tsk” escaping from me >my actions catch up with my logic >a gunshot to the head… >I inwardly curse at myself >this is not justice >a quick death like this was too good for him >he deserved more than this >and yet… >I feel that this is necessary >quick, and mostly clean >I holster my revolver and take one last look around the place >a gunshot >nobody would notice that in this area >not that there’s anyone around to notice anything >I’d be surprised if they found his body this year, let alone at all >I kneel down besides his body, sliding on exam gloves >I ruffle through his pocket >I take out a wallet, several different ID cards in it, all worthless >I go to his other pocket, noting his hand half stuffed in it, fingers wrapped around an oddly shaped item >I raise an eyebrow as I slide it out >a grungy, beat up Beretta Pico, hands half wrapped around it >I smile at this >”Too slow on the draw, eh bastard?” I ask with a chuckle, gentle tapping his cheek >Serial scratched off, no trace of a former owner >I pocket it >Maybe someone else may find it useful >I make sure I leave no trace >no hair, no prints, no nothing >no indication anyone but him was here >There’s a loud knock at the door >I freeze, feeling my blood turn cold >”Hello? Pizza delivery? Is anyone home?” >I feel myself relax >”Yes, for me, leave it outside.” I call in a forcibly gruff voice >I hear muttered cursing about tips, followed seconds later by a car speeding off >I let out a long sigh, before finishing cleaning my glass >Just the pizza man, just him >nothing else to worry about >and I better be off before there is something to worry about >I take a step over the dead body, walking towards the door >Pizza… >dinner… for tonight >I suddenly realize how exhausted I feel >I need to find something for dinner >I open the front door >two boxes of pizza, and what looks like a container of breadsticks are sitting there >…. >pizza >pizza is a dinner >that is right >I pick up the boxes, looking back to the dead body >”Thank you for the hospitality sir, I hope you have a good night.” I say with a tired sigh, closing the door behind me >The ride back is mostly quiet, my eyes feeling heavy >The day and its climax has made me rather weary >I don’t feel anything, other than tiredness in general >death is such an exhausting thing >I put it from my mind as I go through the dark forest, pizza boxes attached firmly to the back of my bike >I make it back to my clinic, rather pleased to see that it is untouched, and no bodies are deposited outside my door >The fatigue of today has gotten to me >I barely open the door, yawning as I step in >I look at the clock in my waiting room, and realize it is terribly late >Hopefully my patients have been… well, patient >I yawn again as I step into the kitchen, clicking on the light >I divvy up the pizza and breadsticks onto several different plates >One of the pizzas is inedible >The presence of anchovy, corn, and ranch dressing combined together over a BBQ sauced crust might have been survivable, if it were not for the sliced hardboiled eggs and hard shelled chocolate candies over it >The label says specialty order brazilian style >Perhaps death was justifiable in this case >At least the others are more than edible >Combination pizza with extra sauce, as well as cheesy garlic bread sticks >Perfect for tonight, but not wholly ideal >I’d rather make it fresh, but it will more than suffice >Perhaps I will have to bake pizza a different time >I cart out the food towards my patients rooms, the only sound being the squeaky wheels and the click of my feet on the ground >”Heya? Who’s there?” I hear a voice call >It takes a second for me to recognize who it is as I step towards her room >The harpy, yes >Savia >”Doc? Yah back?” >I push in the door to her room, nodding my head >”Hello, yes, I am.” I tell the harpy, my voice cracking as I say it, only now realizing how dry my throat is that I have to use it >I see Savia nestled up in her blankets, them being held up close to her face >She quickly shoves them to the side, her otherwise drab expression lighting up >”Hey! What gives? Took you long enough!” She tells me with a forced laugh >”I’m hurt, you said you’d be back in time to have dinner with- I mean cook dinner.” She says, her face going slightly red >I respond with a shrug as I hand her the plate >”The new patient has me… running a bit ragged.” I tell her, trying to rub the sleep out of my eyes >I see Savias expression sour a bit as she takes the plate from me, nodding as she sets it onto her lap, staring down at it >She must not be happy about less than hot pizza >”This new patient, she's uh… taking a lot of ou- your time.” She says quietly, not looking up at me >I let out a humorless chuckle >”Such is the life of a doctor. She is a bit of an interesting case, I’ll give her that.” >I see Savia prickle a little, her feathers puffing slightly >”Yeah, I guess.” She responds, picking up a breadstick, nibbling the end of it >She turns to me, a tired look to her eyes as she chews, nodding her head in the direction of the door >”Check on her, you probably should, really.” She quietly tells me >Ah, right >Not a half bad idea >I turn to the door, wheeling the food cart back out, telling Savia to enjoy her meal, and let me know if she needs anything >”Hey, Doc?” >I turn back to Savia >”Can you uh… just, check in on me before you go to sleep tonight? Stop by my room real fast before you head to bed?” She asks, half a smile on her face >I nod at Savia >”Of course, you have my word.” >Her smile cracks into a full on grin >”Well hell Doc, what're you waiting here for? Go check on that patient then!” >I take the pizza down to the fox bats room >I open up the door, knocking as I step in >”Oh? You’re back?” She says, eyeing me up and down warily >I nod and pass her the plate, the girl taking it happily >”Hey, at least you brought some half decent food with you.” She says as she hungrily tears into it >I take a seat in the rooms guest chair, biting in to my own pizza >Definitely would be better homemade >Another curious thought crosses my mind >Savia >She didn't have me sample her food tonight either >I guess she is getting better in that regard… >But it still is odd >In a way, I might… miss it? >I guess I understand how a parent might feel when their child grows beyond the need for their help >Bittersweet >Not that I see her as a child, of course not >But taking care of her and her eccentricities has been a rather interesting time >She may fully recover sometime here >Well, as fully as she can >One day she will be able to leave here, and live on her own >... >The pizza seems oddly dry in my mouth at this thought, and not more than a little unpalatable >I need water >And sleep I think >A patient recovering should make me joyous >Not… at the loss of my appetite >”Jeez space cadet, you okay?” I hear the fox bat scoff at me >I shake my head, bringing myself back to the present >”Yes, perfectly fine, just exhausted.” I say, as I lean back, resting my head against the wall >”Uh huh, yeah, I can tell.” >I need to rest >To process everything that has happened >I stare up at the lights of the room, my eyes slowly closing as I replay the events of today through my head >There's an odd, dreamlike quality to it >Almost unreal in a sense >Images of emerald feathers fill my mind >And then, nothing >I wake with a start, coughing violently >My throat feels dry, my head pounding, my vision a slight blur >I try to roll to my side, and stumble as I realize I am not laying down, but sitting upright >A groan escape me as pain lances up my back and through the tendons of my neck >I hear a murmured complaint come from across the room >”Jeez, keep it down man.” I hear a frumpy, familiar voice say >It is the foxbat, turning over in her bed >oh dear >It would appear that I fell asleep after sitting down for only a few minutes >I look to the window of the clinics room, seeing that it is now the daylight of early afternoon >Something which draws a groan from me >Awful, very awful >I find myself struggling to rise from the chair, feeling sore and stiff >Sleeping upright in an awful chair can make anyone feel awful and ancient >... >I should make a note to replace these with chairs more comfortable for sleeping >Since I know others have had to sleep in these in the past >An ironic punishment on my end, I will admit to that >I take an unsteady walk down the hall, each step dragging a pained groan from me >I need a hot shower and tylenol, perhaps even a muscle relaxant >I finally trudge to my room, my muscles loosening slightly in a long shower >After that, some light stretching, and a dose of painkillers, I at least halfway back up to snuff >It will definitely be a long day, I will say that much >My clock indicates breakfast time has since past, and we are heading in towards lunch hours >Damn you doctor, you're slipping >This is the second day in a row you have been late on taking care of your patients >You need to get your head back on straight >I rush out to the kitchen without thinking >Time to construct yet another hasty breakfast >I rummage through my cabinet and fridge >... >Oh dear >It would appear that there is a severe lack of groceries here >As in, I have forgotten to restock >.... >Damn it doctor >Why must you be like this? >I’d have fired myself at this point if I weren't my own employer >Let’s plunder the freezer for SOMETHING which may be edible >I rummage through all the frost bitten junk that has been lost to time >The gears in my mind turn as I pull usable items out >Frozen waffles? Perfect >A package of hot dogs from God knows when? Usable >A… fruit or berry of some sort? Better than nothing >I do have half and half, as well as butter >And some frozen orange juice, full pulp >hmmm >yes, it is all coming together >Brunch is finished >I had just enough to make two plates >Toasted the waffles and cut them up into presentable pieces >Topped them with the unknown frozen berry, and some hastily made whipped cream >Of course, made from the half and half mixed with the butter, a very nifty tick >Mixed some cinnamon, nutmeg, and cacao powder into the maple syrup I had as well >Partially for flavor, partially to make sure that the freezer burnt flavor of the food was masked >Sliced the hot dogs thinly, and added them to the last remainder of the eggs I had >Again, liberally seasoned with pepper, salt, paprika, and chili powder to remove the same freezerburn flavor >The juice thawed out, the pulp seemingly very heavy, and all settling at the bottom for some reason >And of course, fresh carrots >I had no fresh fruit, have to improvise >It is not the best, but it is passable I’d say >... >Or, at least I HOPE >I bring the fox bat her brunch on the cart, which she noticeably turns her nose up at >Takes it with a half muttered thank you, looking rather annoyed at the selection, poking it with a fork >I roll the cart out of her room, and go back down the hall to my next patient >I knock out the door, hoping for an answer >Theres silence >Odd >perhaps she’s asleep? >I slowly open the door >I can see the harpy sitting there, head turned to the window >She turns to me, face blank, eyes tired looking >”Oh, hey. Sup?” She says, turning back, looking away from me >... >Odd behavior… >Maybe she is under the weather? >I roll the cart up to her side >”I made break- well, brunch, yet again. Sorry for the delay in time.” >She shrugs her one shoulder, not facing me >”Ok, cool. It’s fine.” She says as I set her plate on her bed >”Again, I am very sorry.” I tell the harpy >She shrugs again, glancing down at the breakfast, giving it the same lack of praise as the foxbat >She nudges it with her finger >”That new patient… she’s uh… really got your mind?” >The question is oddly toned >Quiet, hesitant, dreadful >”Well, yes, one could say that.” >For some reason my own tone causes me to pause >It is just as hesitant and scared >As if I don’t want to give the wrong answer to her >I hear Savia sigh >”Is… that why you didn't visit me last night Doc?” >Visit? >.... >Doctor, you idiot >I completely overlooked checking on Savia last night >Even this morning, I forgot >Damn it doctor >”I… yes, partially. I was fatigued and fell asleep an-” >Savias head turns quick, snapping towards me, eyes wide >”YOU SLEPT WITH HER?!” >I pause, suddenly taken aback >Savia’s eyes seem frantic, her heart beat racing >”No- no! NO! Heavens no!” I exclaim, practically shouting in response, nervousness painting my tone >She nods slowly, her breathing slowing >”I was saying, I fell asleep in her room. I sat down on a chair for a minute to ask some questions, and I closed my eyes and dozed off.” I say sheepishly, feeling a blush of embarrassment come to my face >Savia stares at me intensely, nodding, whispering to herself >”So you… did NOT sleep with her?” She asks, leaning closer to me >”I… slept in the room, but on a chair, with the patient in proximity. If you're asking about… intimate relations, there are none, were none, and there never will be any, especially not with her.” I say firmly >Savia lets out a long sigh >”So… you… did not have se-” >”Savia,” I cut her off, “No, I did not. I would never sleep with a patient, ever. Have never in my life, and will never in my life.” >Savia collapses backwards in the bed, the harpy practically deflating into the fabric >”Oh thank fucking god, thank fuck.” She says to no one in particular, letting out a deep breath >... >”Savia? Were you… worried about that?” I ask her >The harpy has a guilty look to her eyes >”I uh, well… you just had me worried, okay?” She sputters out >”About… that?” >”NO! Just… Youve been spending so much time with her, you really haven't spent any time on u- uh uh, our- yourself. Yourself, Doc.” She says, a pouty look coming to her face >I lean back, letting out a long sigh >Damn it, she is right >That other patient, she hasn't been here for any amount of time as Savia, and yet, she has ran me more tired and ragged than Savia ever did >I’ve neglected her… >her recovery, that is >Yes, her recovery >... >Well, her as a person as well >I do feel rather guilty about that >And I WILL be making that up to her, in one way or another >For recovery purposes, again >Have to keep her in good spirits >I give Savia the best smile I can >”You’re… rather correct about that. I will agree.” >Savia’s eyes light up >”I uh… I am? Y-yeah, yeah! You're right, I am. My Doc needs to take better care of himself.” she says, putting her hand on my shoulder >It feels oddly reassuring, for some reason >”I uh… care about you, yah know? Can’t just have you treating yourself like garbage. I know you think I’m just some patient, but I’m not. You take care of me, and I want to take care of you, however I can.” >I’m not sure if there is any further implication to that statement >However, Savia’s words… >They're very comforting >Knowing that she wants to look out for me >I feel a smile grow on my face >”Thank you Savia, thank you.” >I turn to the harpy >She’s trying her best to smile, her cheeks red, eyes watery >”Just… take care of yourself Doc, please.” She says, her voice cracking >”I need you here with me, okay? Don’t you go and… leave me or something like that, okay?” >Her hand squeezes my shoulder tightly, the arm trembling >I place my own hand on her should, patting it gently >”I will Savia, I will… Thank you.” >The smile grows more natural on her face >”And r-really. If you need help from me, I can help you. Even if it’s just to relieve stress or something like that.” She says, her cheeks turning redder >... >This harpy… >Although, her consistency makes me… happy, in a way >”I… don’t think that will be necessary, but… thank you?” I say, taking my hand off her shoulder >”Doc, I’m serious, you can-” >”Savia.” >Her mouth closes, her demeanor becoming sheepish >”Yeah yeah, I know, medical patients and all that. I won’t push it.” >After this rather… disappointing breakfast, I clean up the dishes and go about my business around the clinic >Paperwork, ordering medicine and other odds and ends, putting in for shipments of basic groceries >However, of course, this shipment is just for the necessities >It would be the best course of options to go out and shop for fresh produce, as well as just to browse >I can’t remember the last time I have been to the shops >Come to think of it… >This would be a perfect outing to bring Savia on >Afterall, I have pretty much been her only other person-to-person interaction for a long while now >It might be the best for her mental wellbeing and recovery to actually be around others again >And the markets are a safe enough place >My musings are interrupted by a loud ringing from my doorbell, followed by insistent knocking >I set down my paperwork and go to my door >I open it, and see an odd sight on the other side >It’s a family… I assume, at least >What I guess are a human husband and wife, despite their haggard appearances making them look more like the undead >And behind them is a menagerie of sorts >A slime girl, some young elven boy, and a young manticore who is held in the wife's arms >They stand there staring at me, eyes tired, mouths half open in exhaustion >”Greeting, hello, may I help you?” I offer them >The husband blinks, shaking his head >”I, yes, please, we need your help.” >he says this as he shuffles through a bag on his side, crumpled papers stuffed in it >He hands me a shaky handful of them, the documents fresh yet oddly worn from their trave >”Please, if you can, spread these around.” His hollow, distant voice says >I click my teeth as I look over the document, the large print of the word “MISSING” being the first thing that catches my eye >the next being a collage of picture of someone that looks very familiar >And this familiar girl being in the picture with this family, her wings spread wide around them >I nod slowly, humming to myself >”I… would you all care to step inside for a second?” >I whistle to myself as I walk down the hallway to the rooms >I pass the foxbats room, and go to Savias >”Savia?” I ask as I step in to her room >The harpy is almost nowhere to be found, save for the large bundle of blankets which are hiding a shivering mass >”Savia? Are you alright?” I ask, kneeling by the side of the bed >Silence answers me as the shivering under the blankets stop >”...I heard voices…” >Her tone is soft and quiet, barely there >”Yes, there are other people here, I wanted to warn you about them before you got scared.” >The blankets shuffle around, Savias face peeking out from under them >”Why are they here? Are they looking for me? They can’t have me.” >I shake my head >”Not you, no, they're here for someone else. I just don’t want you worrying.” >Savias face softens a little, the panic slipping away slightly >”…thanks Doc. I’m… I’m still not here though, not at all.”” >I wink at Savia >”I understand completely. Just let me know if you need anything.” >I say it in no more than a whisper, and the harpy disappears under the blankets again >... >We definitely need to work more on her mental recovery >She can’t function in the outside world if she’s scared of everyone but me >But, that is for a later concern >There is something much more pressing going on >I go back out to the waiting room >The family is waiting, all of them looking exhausted, their eyes distant >”Would you all care to follow me?” I ask them >For a second, you can see the sparkle in their eyes >Then it is replaced by a grimness >As if they are worried >They silently nod before following me down my clinics hallway >I can hear their footsteps getting slower, quieter as I approach the room, hand going to the handle >”Doctor… how bad?” I hear a quiet voice say behind me >... >How bad? >I look back, seeing the husbands face >It is completely devoid of any emotion >”Where was it found? What happened to her? I… do we have to see it?” He stammers, staring at the floor >... >OH >I look at the rest of the family >There is no hope in any of their eyes >I clear my throat >”Well, I would hope you would all want to see her, because I think she may have missed you.” >Everyone seems to freeze >Their eyes wide >”She’s… she did?” >I smile and open the door to the foxbats room >The father stumbles in, feet working out of sync with his body >”Munchkin?” I hear his distant, quiet voice say >The foxbat bolts up in the bed, eyes wild >”D-dad?!” >The man runs over to the bedside, collapsing to his knees, wrapping his arms around the foxbat >The rest of the family runs over, voices calling to her in excitement >”Mom? Guys? H-hey! Hey!” The foxbat says, her voice choking up with emotion >I can’t help but smile as I see them all embracing >Joyful crying, happy laughter >The fears of never seeing the one you love again suddenly vanishing >Bitter sorrow turning to elation >Such a wonderful experience >... >A thought scratches at the back of my mind >Savia… >Family, friends, people she knows >I haven't even thought to ask her about them, or if anyone would be looking for her > Not that she has brought them up, but even then, perhaps it has slipped her mind >Afterall, she has had much trauma >However, that is a line of thought for later >For now, I must tend to the foxbat, her family, and the discharge paperwork >I clear the Foxbats paperwork >The family is overjoyed >Even the foxbat is surprisingly emotional about being able to go home >Curious, considering her earlier sentiments >Although, it makes sense >Most likely a prodigal son type thought process >Worried about the consequences of the actions she’s taken, rather than the fact her family might just be devastated at her disappearance >From what I gathered from her mom and dad, she snuck out in the middle of the night against their wishes to go to a party, and did not return >And they feared the worst when they were unable to find her >I spared them the worst of the details of what happened to her >As well as some other details that should not be talked about, unless questions be asked about… circumstances >What they don’t know wont hurt them >Which does lead a question into my mind >I keep wondering about family and friends of Savia >Where are they? How are they? >Are they as worried as this family was? >The question persists even as I watch the family leave, the foxbat with them >It is a joyful thing to see a patient discharged, returning to their life healthy and restored >It is something that always makes me smile when I think about it >And yet, there is an odd outlier >I picture myself standing at this door and waving as Savia walks off >The harpy smiling and waving back to me as she heads back out into the world >I…. >I can’t say I look forward to that >It’s not like I have not had other long term patients before >Yet, the thought of their absence did not fill me with… this odd feeling >Loneliness? Is that what it is? >nonsense >I’ve been out here for a long time, and that has never been an issue before >It is something else, but I cannot quite put a finger on it >Savia’s… *offers* must be subconsciously affecting me in some way for me to be thinking that way >It is some syndrome of some sort >Nightingale, Saviour complex, or something like that >It really is the only explanation that I can think of >Regardless, I shove that from my mind >I can ask Savia about it later, especially since we will be having an extended amount of time with each other >Afterall, we need to go to the shops >The shops >A very interesting place >The name conjures in the mind a strip mall, or something akin to it >Rather than what it really is, something much more… fantastic >It is much more like a bazaar >Open air, hundreds of stands, thousands of people >One could liken it to a medieval town the way it is, and in truth, that is what it is >The bike ride there takes the better part of an hour, even zipping at top speeds through the forest >Savia seemed to enjoy the novelty of the trip though >Hugging me tight from behind with her one wing as she rode on the back of my bike >Her helmeted head resting firmly on my back, the harpy giggling occasionally for no particular reason >We make it to The Shops, and I chain my bike to a tree just on the outskirt of the town >Can’t have our only form of transportation being stolen >Lock the helmets to it so we won't have to carry them around >I feel excited >Not just because it’s been a while since i’ve been to the Shops >But rather, Savia will be able to interact with the world >I need to make sure this experience goes well for her >We can’t undo all this progress >Savia seems to be a bit hesitant as we approach >Trailing behind me, almost seemingly using me as cover >”Savia?” >”Wassup Doc?” >I pass her something from my bag that I had prepared >A small leather parcel, designed to be opened with one hand >She takes it in her hand curiously, staring at it, before using the thumb zipper to open it >It’s full of cash in different types of currencies >Obviously not all of them, but enough where she could buy something from just about anyone >Savia raises an eyebrow >”What’s… why money?” >”For your rehabilitation. That way you can purchase anything you would like while we are here. You are an adult after all, no sense in treating you like a child.” >Savia eyes the money oddly, shaking the bag, humming to herself >”So I can buy… anything?” >I nod to her >”Yes, just about anything. I will say though, no illicit substances or drugs, but yes, just about anything.” >Savia closes the bag, humming to herself >”Anything… okay then!” She chirps >I feel her arm go around me >”Thanks Doc, you really spoil me a lot. I’ll have to make up for it sometime.” >Her voice has this odd inflection to it >I put it from my head as we get closer to the Shops >And in view of actual people >Which makes Savia even slower >I can see her eyes flicking from person to person >sweat visibly beading her brow >”Doc? Is there going to be people here?” >the question gives me pause >”Well… yes, there will be people here. It is a market, many different types of people.” >I can see Savia start to tremble a little >Her hand goes to the stump of her arm, rubbing it >”I just… I just don't like people Doc. I like you, I really like you, hell I- really like you, but Doc, I don’t like people.” >She takes a step back, that wild look coming to her eyes >”Are you worried about… him? The incident?” I ask >Savia nods quickly >”Do you…” >Her voice drops to a low whisper >”... He might be here doc. He could be waiting for me. What’s to keep him from being here?” >She takes a few more steps back, shaking her head >”I don’t want to Doc, I don’t want to.” >I put my hand on her should, looking her in the eyes >The still emerald colored one is wide in panic, while the cloudy eye regards me coldly >Like the cold dead eyes of… a certain individual >”Savia, I promise, he is… not an issue. I promise, we won’t see him here.” >Savia swallows hard >”How the hell do you know that?” She whispers quietly >I give her a wink >”Just… trust me, and know that I know.” >Savias eyes go down, looking at her bird feet >I can see the feathers on her arm puff up, then slowly relax >”Alright Doc, alright. I… I’ve trusted you this far. I trust you Doc, I trust you.” >I give her the best smile I can, and squeeze her shoulder tightly >”Thank you Savia… and, one more thing.” >”Yeah Doc?” >I let out a long breath from my teeth >”I just want to let you know, that if somehow we get separated, do not panic. If you're in a safe area, just stay where you are, and I will find you.” >Savias eyes go wide >”S-seperated huh?’ She stutters out, looking at The Shops >I can see her visibly swallow hard, blinking rapidly >She nods yes rapidly >”Alrighty Doc, alright, but if that happens you better find me fast, alright?” >I pull her into a reassuring hug >The idea of the harpy having a full blown meltdown and panic attack in the shops is not a comforting one >For her sake, it is best for her to be reassured, both physically and mentally >I feel her arm wrap around my back >”I trust you Doc, I’m trusting you to keep me safe.” >Squeeze her tight, before releasing the hug >”I promise you, Savia, I will do that for as long as I can.” >we continue our walk back into the Shops >Savia is clinging to me closely, barely a pace behind my own step >I can see her head darting around in my peripheral vision >looking at every person intently in the now busy crowd >more people in one place than she’s seen in what would most likely feel like forever >it… is a bit much to take in >I’ll admit that even I’m not much for large crowds >still, it is a good idea for Savia >exposure therapy, getting her used to lots of people again >and the shops do have LOTS of people >It is very overwhelming >The crowd moving through the clustered buildings like a wave, dozens of faces and species passing through the open air stands and closed off shops >The constant drone of thousands of voices, yells, calls, laughter, the bleating of animals punctuating it >The near constant smell of dozens of bodies both washed and unwashed, mixing with the earthy smell of livestock and produce, punctuated by the smells of spices and food being cooked >Even the feeling on the skin and tongue is palatable, a warm aura of personhood, vibrating and worming in the air like a strange mist >Savias eyes are wide, taking it all in, her eyes and head darting all over the place as she clings to me >I can practically feel her heart pounding through her chest into my back >However, she does not seem to be panicking >I know her well enough to realize when that is happening >It would seem she is rather just excited >Which does make me rather happy >Now, for the business end of this >It is time to get groceries >I lead Savia to a less crowded area of the Shops, in a more open air stand >It is like a large farmers market >An odd mixture of both fantastical and mechanical >Wooden stands of vegetables with bovine pulled carts set up next to cargo trucks and plastics tables full of produce >Farmers of dozens of species and backgrounds next to each other >Shouting, hocking their wares, advertising their various farmed goods >More than enough to waste hours here exploring through all of them >However, that will be for another time >I know the exact stand I need to go to >The one that has the best organic produce, tried and true >We go to a stall further away from the others, much out of the way of the crowd >Savias hand is firmly planted on my shoulder, her fingers gripping it tightly so she does not leave me as we cut our way through >The stall is a bit run down looking >The wooden table mossy and dirty, the wood worn and old >A massive pile of what looks like a landslide next to it, birds cluttering the area >Yet the produce looks pristine and picturesque >Colors brighter than would ever be seen, so fresh you can smell it from a distance >We walk up to the empty stand >”Huh, no one here?” I hear Savia mutter >”Is it self serve Doc?” >The mountain of rubbish behind the stand begins to shift >An odd amalgamation of dirt, grass, wood, and muck >I feel Savia’s hand grip me tightly >The thing in front of us stands up with what could be seen as a yawn or a stretch >It is a mountain of wood, moss, dirt, and tree, vaguely in the shape of what could be mistaken as a large man with a bit of imagination >It’s glossy, glassy eyes regard us curiously, then what could pass for its mouth smiles >”aaahhh, yesss, Doocktor, welcome back.” The tree thing rumbles in a low, bassy tone >I can feel Savia now trembling >”Good morning Bud, a pleasure to see you.” I say as cordially as I can >The tree thing stretches, humming to itself >”Myyy myyy, been too looong since you have been to my stand. I was wooorried something had happened. What has beeeen keeping youuuuu?” He asks, leaning forward glacially slow >I take a quick glance behind me at Savia, her lips tightly shut, her eyes wide as she stares at the mass of plants >”I have been taking care of patients, busy at the clinic as usual. Getting produce has been skipping my mind as of late. I ran out the other day, and decided a jaunt to the shops would be good for me and my patient here.” >I turn and show the tree ting Savia, gesturing to her >”And, in that vein, this here is Savia. She is a patient of mine that I have been helping to recover.” >Savia flinches back a little, a very tense smile coming to her face >She waves her hand at the tree >”H-hi, g-glad to meet you.” >The tree thing does a sort of nod, humming to himself >”Greeetings Saaavia, friend of the dooooctorrrr. My name, is Glaaaaaayyyyyvrol't the buuuuudded. Hooooweeever, you may call meeee… Bud.” >With that he sticks out a long, branchy, dirty limb towards Savia >The harpy swallows hard, reaching out to take it >”N-nice to meet you… Bud.” >Savia and Bud shake hands, the tree taking his limb back slowly >”The dooocktooor is a goooood maaaan, you are lucky to beeeee in hiiiiis carrrreeee.” Bud rumbles out, a wheezing, laughing noise coming from him >”A biased opinion I’d say.” I retort with a chuckle >”Bud was an old patient in my care for a little bit. Herbicide poisoning, very tragic. Made a full recovery. Not surprising, given your reputation.” I say to both Bud and Savia. >Bud gives his best approximation of a nod that he can >”Indeeeed, indeeeeeed, thooough, I must say…” rumbles Bud, leaning back, stroking a patch of moss on his face >This raises my curiosity >”I haaaave never seen youuuu bring a patient out beforrrrrre… not in my liiife or acquaintanceship, I dooo nooot think.” >Savia raises an eyebrow >”I uh, Doc said it’s for my therapy.” Adds Savia with a dry chuckle >Bud leans back again, humming loudly and slowly, his eyes lingering over me and Savia for a long, ponderous time >Then, the tree thing wheezes >The cough echoes through him, making the timber of his body creak and crackle, like wind coursing through a forest >Savia looks at me concerned >”Is the tree dude alright?” >I… >...have no real clue >Then, I realize slowly >Bud is…. Laughing? >”Thaaaat is a fiiiine jest dooocktoooor.” >A jest? >He thinks I am joking >”I am… not joking, Bud, she is my patient.” I assure the tree >Bud takes a long look at me, then looks over at Savia >His face creaks into what could be considered a smile >”aaaaaahhhhhhh, I… I seeeeeee. HHHHMMMmm… oooffff couuurse dooocktooor, a paaatient.” >He repeats that odd laugh again, before gesturing at the table >”coooome, cooome, I wiiiill not keeeeeeep you boooooth long, take what you would liiiiiike.” >That is… rather odd >Yet, I thank Bud, and browse through Buds produce >And it is indeed the best produce >Being a natural… whatever he might be, a dryad, ent, golem, or some other thing, Bud knows plants well >He communicates with them in an odd way, one which I cannot comprehend >I tell Savia about how when he was at my clinic, Bud managed to talk some dead shrubs I had back into bloom >Something which makes Savia laugh >She asks about Dryads, and Bud of course confirms he can talk to them >”Theeeeeyyy enjoooooy the wisdoooms, of cooouurse. I shaaaaalll share one with you, haaarpy paaaatiennnt Saaaviaaa.” >He clears his throat as I examine a pristine, bright red apple >”dont grass the flowers, the Dryaaaaads enjooooy that pne. It dooooes not translate weeellllll thooough. Anotheeeer iiiiiis *Go fast; eat grass*, they find that one controveeeeersiiial, yet endeeeaaaring.” >I can hear Savia snort >”I can understand why.” She snickers >I have filled up two entire bags of produce at this point from Buds stand >I look to Savia >She really hasn't touched anything, standing several feet away >”Savia? Is there anything in particular you would like?” >Savia looks around nervously, her hand flexing indistinctly >I see her eyes flicker at something, then look away >”Nah nah, what you got is fine, promise.” >I look to where she had glanced >... >”Savia? Would you like some oranges?” >The suggestion makes her bristle >Feathers puffing >She smiles wide >Head nodding very fast >”YES! PLEASE! ORANGES!” > She says it with more enthusiasm than I thought she would >A… startlingly surprising amount of enthusiasm >As if i offered her a new car, or a piece of expensive jewelry >”....Okay then, oranges it is.” >Pick out about a dozen fresh Raspberry Oranges that Bud has grown >Savia giggling the whole time for some odd reason >Bud eyes me curiously >”Aaaaaa…. Paaatiiieeent doooocktoooor?” >I… >I will be honest, I have little idea what is going on >I feel like the subject to some odd joke which I do not know the punchline of >It is just an orange? >Is it not? >I turn to Savia >”Savia? What do the oranges mean? I… well, do they actually mean something?” >Savia opens her mouth to speak >Then stops >She looks from me, to Bud, then back at me >I can see the gears in her head turning >”They… I… just like oranges Doc, I’ll tell you later, or something like that. Yeah, nah I just uh, like them…. A lot.” She mutters, not making eye contact with me. >... >”Bud? What do they-” >”Don’t ask me, let her tell you.” >... >That was a very… quick answer >... >I am afraid now >I have no idea what I have done >However, I will worry about that later >I peel one of the oranges and hand it to Savia >She coo’s very loudly, taking it in her hand >Her face blushes a very bright red >”Th-thanks Doc.” >She takes a large bite of it, the juices trailing down her face >The cooing becomes louder, her feathers puffing >”Really Doc, thanks, thank you, thank you.” >I may not know what it means, but the harpy is very happy >Which in turn, makes me happy >I give payment to Bud, before putting the grocery bags into my own satchel >A modified bag of holding I use for grocery shopping >It was an expensive find, but rather useful >I would not want to carry around all these items with me while we spend all day here >Or on the back of my bike for that matter >We say goodbye to Bud, and I tell him that we will be sure to see him soon >He bids us farewell >”Taaaake gooood care of your paaaatient dooooocktooooor.” He tells me >Bud turns to Savia slowly, waving to her >”Aaaaand youuuuu be suuuuure to take goooood care of the doooocktoooor, haaarpy paaaaaatieeeent Saaaaavvviiaaaaa.” >Savia waves back with the orange in her hand, a bright smile on her face >”I sure will Bud! Thank you!” >The patient taking care of the Doctor… >The idea of Savia taking care of me is a funny one >However, not completely unwelcome >I wonder what would happen if I became incapacitated to a certain extent? >I’m sure Savia would try her best to take the best care of me >It would be interesting to see >perhaps I could introduce her to some of my clinics medical supplies and familiarize her with them >But, that would imply a much longer stay for her… >and she may feel obligated to stay, rather than free to… do other things >I… >I don’t want to think about that >Why does that keep coming to my mind? >I feel something cold, wet, and citrus scented poke the side of my face >”Omramge?” I hear the harpy mutter through a stuffed mouth >I nod, and open my mouth to say yes, before she shoves the fruit slice into my mouth >”Dur grabe!” She says as she chews through the citrus, wiping her mouth as she swallows >”The fucking best! I didn’t know oranges could taste so good!” >She is beaming with happiness >Yes, that is something I should focus on >The future can wait on the future >I think I will just… enjoy this moment >Yes, that is what I will do >We continue walking around the Shops >Savia seems to have calmed down a lot >In fact, she seems to be enjoying the Shops >I go to the dairy provider, and put in an order for fresh milk, cream, eggs, and cheese >I also write a note asking for ice cream >A surprise for Savia for later >After that it is now time for a different type of shopping >The browsing time >It is nice afterall to window shop and see all the oddities that pop up at a place like this >And it will give a chance for Savia to be more acquainted with the outside world and its people again >”So, Savia, where would you like to go?” >I figure it would be better to figure it out by asking rather than milling about >She may need things that I certainly wouldn't think of >Savia hums to herself as she looks around at everything >She then takes a look at herself >”Well, not to be an ungrateful shit, but are there any clothes shops? I was thinking about maybe a new outfit or two.” >I take a look at the harpy >She’s still wearing my old pair of shorts, and that old t-shirt I had >Definitely time for a new outfit or two >”Right this way Savia.” >We go to a nearby womans clothing shop >An actual building, not just a stand >I… never actually have set foot in here, I just meander on by occasionally >I hope this store is good, and not terrible >For Savias sake >An old half elf greets us >She gives us a smile and welcomes us in to the store >”Feel free to browse and try whatever you want on. Feel free to ask about our daily specials as well.” >The half elfs eyes linger on Savias empty sleeve >”..we also do alterations as well, for clothes, at low costs.” >Savia doesn't seem to notice the comment as she walks over to the clothes >She looks over them curiously, picking up outfits and studying them >The half elf turns to me >”I never thought you’d be in here, especially not with a woman.” She mentions to me >I click my teeth >That comment… sort of stings, in a way that it really should not >”Well, she is a patient of mine, and I figure, it would be good for her to get out for her recovery.” >The half elf woman chuckles and nods >”Oh sure sure, a patient, yes.” >I hear Savia giggling, drawing my attention to her >”Hey Doc? How do you think this would look?” >I turn to look at the harpy >And I feel like I was hit by a blinding ray of the sun >She’s standing there holding a set of lacy lingerie in front of her >A charcoal gray bra, panty, garters, and garterbelt set >Savia holding it in front of her body, grinning from ear to ear >I feel my breath catch in my throat >My mind filling in the gaps though she is clothed >Mentally dressing her in the revealing outfit >The gray contrasting with her feathers, making them brighter than they should be, her one emerald eye shining brightly, the other hazy eye looking at me seductively >I clear my throat loudly, shaking my head >”I… I’m not sure about that outfit Savia.” >She lowers it down, cocking her head at me >”Why not?” >I feel my words sticking in my throat, the image of Savia wearing it flooding my mind >”I… don’t think that is an appropriate outfit.” >Savia pauses, looking down at the lingerie set >A small, pouty frown grows on her face >”Well… Don’t worry Doc, I’m not getting it for you to see me in it.” >Ah, I see, well that is- >... >The words make my chest feel oddly cold >I… >She is not getting it for me to see her in >It is a simple fact, really >Of course it would not be for me >But >Why do I feel like… >I really do not like that? >”Doc? You okay?” Savia asks, raising an eyebrow at me >I shake my head >I hope I wasn’t frozen too long >I cannot let Savia think anything of… well, anything >Not making me… jealous, of course >Not at all >Just… Jarring, of course >”I’m fine Savia, don’t mind me. It’s your money, purchase what you want.” I say, the words slowly leaving my mouth >Savia glances at the lingerie, then smiles, before putting it back >”I’m just… teasing you Doc, just being funny.” She says, before turning and looking at the other outfits which are very much NOT lingerie >I can feel the old half elf looking at me >”....People don’t usually visually get visibly jealous of someone who is JUST their patient.” >... >”I don’t know what youre talking about.” >”Sure, sure.” >Savia picks out some outfits and we leave the store >Several sets of spandex shorts for ease of one handed dressing, as well as many tank tops and loose, flowy shirts >One dress as well, and a skirt, not to mention some pajamas and certain unmentionables >And, from what I saw, zero lingerie >Much to my… relief, for sure, and nothing else >Nothing at all >This harpy shall be the death of me >Savia seems very pleased with her purchases >I’m sure they do beat wearing a single hand me down outfit and a medical gown >We go further into The Shops >Pass by a bookstore, and Savia takes an interest immediately >She stops to rummage through the bins of cheap used books >Brings out several copies of some comics I don’t recognize >Half of which seem to be drawn in a very… *interesting* style >And printed… backwards? Opposite? Mirrored? >You have to read it opposite ways, which Savia does not seem to mind >Must be some form of odd harpy scripts >She also freaks out at some form of cartoon playing on a portable TV >appears to be an animated retelling of the battle of Dorfs Drift >Where hundreds of Drow lizard raiders attacked a new world medical outpost that was set up by a STALKER and Dwarf co-op group >A story which I am not embarrassed to admit did make me bar certain windows on my clinic, and up security >Savia is completely enthralled by the animation >She starts telling me that she apparently watched this as a child >Her tone distant, airy, almost half dreamlike >”I’ll tell you Doc, I had the hugest crush on Captain Tarkovsky when I was a girl. I don’t know how many times I would rewind the tapes just to see him. He was so cool. Being a medic, a captain, a soldier, and chef! Man, I really was in love with that guy.” >Savias eyes shift to me, and I see her cheeks go red from embarrassment >”H-haha, yeah, you know. I was still a kid. Th-this was definitely not a recent thing… at all.” >Something about her tone makes me doubt that >Regardless, I suggest that she could purchase the animation >Which makes her eyes light up >”OH SHIT DOC YOU'RE RIGHT.” >Seconds later, it is in her hands, as well as several editions of comic books all paid for with her money >She’s humming happily to herself, eyes flicking back and forth between me and the items >As we walk away the talk about her childhood makes me mind wander >”Savia? Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?” >The harpy looks at me oddly >”Uh, yeah Doc, sure, what’s up?” >”I was… just wondering about you. Youve been with me for a while, and… I never asked you about family, or friends. Really anyone who would be worried or panicked about you being gone. A major oversight on my end, and I apologize for that.” >Savia bites her lip pensively >Her face slowly droops >”Uh… nah Doc. You don’t gotta worry about that. No one like that.” >Her tone is suddenly cold and distant >A tight frown on her face >”Oh… I see.” Is my response >”I apologize for bringing it up, especially if it is a sore subject. I am sorry.” >Savia shrugs, giving her best forced grin >”Eh, it… it is what it is Doc. I… never knew my dad, or my mom. Probably for the best. Bitch probably knew she couldn't take care of me anyways.” >The harpy chuckles >”Besides, nothing to tie me down that means. I like wandering, going from place to place, seeing new shit. Plus, living that life allowed me to meet you.” >She laughs as she says that, gently punching me in the side of the arm >The sentiment makes me smile >Barring the fact that it was tragedy which brought her to me, however, I won’t mention that >Seeing the light in a situation, even as dark as hers >That is something I do love about… people in general >We continue our walk through The Shops >Any amount of panic Savia had beforehand is gone >Fear has been replaced with curiosity >And multiple times I have heard out her desires to stop at a place and check it over >Something which I am more than happy to oblige >It is almost unbelievable >Even her ability to make smalltalk with others is edging back >She could, and dare I say, function on her own >It is comfortable enough that I can take a step back and watch from a distance >Seeing her do this makes me feel an odd mix of emotions >Joy, of course, I am glad she is able to function >However, something else… >This… makes me feel… >I am distracted as I feel a strong hand tapping on my shoulder >”Sir! Sir!” A gruff yet cultured voice yells >I spin around and face the insistent voice >Take a step back as I come face to face with a massive, broad ork >Dark green, wearing an odd loincloth, and… >On his knees… >Crying? >”...Hello?” >”Sir! I am begging you!” He says in a voice that sounds very oddly hyped >”I’m Weeping Ork, from Weeping Ork Wandering Traders, and I see what youre looking at, and I’m BEGGING YOU, please! Buy my wares!” >... >What is even- >He suddenly stands up and gestures in a wide >And I take stock of the small group around him >Theyre all females >...very scantily clad females >”...your wares are-” >”I sell companions!” He says, his voice changing pitch as he sobs >”Look at these elves I have! Tall elves! Short elves! Thick elves and thin elves!” >His voice now sounds like one you would hear on public talk radio advertisements >”Look at these elves! It makes me sad enough to cry that such fine elves are going untouched and unsold!” He says, blowing his nose into a handkerchief that one of the elves gave him >... >”Look at this elf! She slender! She tall! She strong! She has abs! Abs! Hard enough to grate cheese on, and you can!” >Watch in absolute bewilderment as he pulls the elf over, and proceeds to grate a block of cheddar on her midriff >... >Impressive, I guess? >”Or this elf! So soft, so plump, so supple! If I didn't want to sell her I’d cry myself to sleep in her bosom!” >Sure enough, an elf fitting this voluptuous description comes to his side, a nightcap settled between her large breasts >”At Weeping Ork Wandering Traders, I sell slaves and companions at such a low price, it makes me want to cry! Please! Take a slave! I’m practically giving them away! Buy a slave, or you make weeping ork cry even more!” >All the elf girls with him step forward, and do Jazz hands >”Come to weeping orks, prices on slaves so low, it’ll make you want to cry!” >They all say it in a sing song voice, and hold their pose >”Visit us at the far end of the shops, no checks allowed, financing subject to credit approval.” Whispers the crying ork in a low voice >... >I… >Well, that is a new one >”So? Come buy slaves from Weeping Ork?” Asks the ork in a hopeful voice >I give the best polite smile I can >”I… Will have to pass, for now, thank you.” I say, forcing courtesy to my tone >The giant orks lip trembles, before he begins sobbing into his hands >The elf girl walk up to him, frowning, looking sorry, placing their hands on his shoulders >”Cheer up weepy, you’ll find a customer.” >”Yeah Weepy! Come on, lets go, you’ll find someone.” >The elves shoot me daggered glances as they lead away the sobbing Ork >I swear at least one of them calls me a “meanie” >... >I am… >VERY glad Savia did not see that >At least, I hope so >I would never hear the end of it >Of course, she will still hear about it >And she will laugh >I turn to look over to the store where she was looking at >and… >... >That is odd >I do not see the familiar emerald feathered figure >I could have sworn I just saw where she was… >Where did she go? >I walk over to the store >She is not in it >And she’s not in any of the stores near it either >That is… very puzzling >I… >I do not know where she is >Where the hell is Savia? >.... >It registers in my brain >My worst fear has been realized >I lost her >I lost Savia >She is lost at the market >Alone >... >I need to find her >I begin walking quickly >Urgency lends my steps speed I didn't know I had >My head swiveling quickly, eyes darting, searching for a glimmer of emerald >I lost her >At probably one of the busiest places to lose her >And what could be about undoubtedly one of the worst >Her absence is making my heart race >I try my best to stay out of peoples way, and move to the side, but my search path makes me collide with people frequently >Their angered words mean nothing to me >I barely hear them regardless >The only thing I can make is a constant thrumming, the buzz of blood in my head >I turn a corner, only to see more of a crowd >Completely lacking in emerald feathers, of course >I push through anyways >She may be around here >Perhaps she is panicking? >The mental image comes too quick >Savia cowering, curled up into a ball, crying, incoherent >Even people asking her if she needed help wouldn't be able to get any information >What would they do to her? >Would she be taken away? >To where even? >And how would I know where to get her back? >I need to find her >I need to find her fast >I’m not sure how long I have been searching for >It feels like hours >My shirt is heavy with sweat >I have never lost a patient before, not in this literal sense >And I definitely don’t want to lose Savia >Not if I can help it >I make a full circuit of The Shops >Still no sign of Savia >I need to pause, as much as my mind screams for me to keep up my hunt >Get a drink of water, gather my bearings, formulate a new plan, and find her >I walk to near where I encountered the Weeping Ork fella, going to a small collection of food stands >I acquire a mug of water from one of them, sipping at it >I just need to collect my thoughts >Easier said than done however >I find myself pacing back and forth around the area >Passing by all the food stands repeatedly, muttering to myself >”Hey, wait, Doc? That you? You okay?” >The voice makes me violently spin >Savia is sitting about fifteen feet away from me at a table >She has an ice cream cone in her hand, the half eaten treat slightly melted >An eyebrow is raised, as if she is confused >She gives me an up and down glance >”Doc, seriously, are you okay? You look awful.” >I don’t answer, and stumble over to the table, practically collapsing at it >”You’re… you’re okay…” I half ask, half say to her, my voice an exhausted mutter >She nods slowly, biting the ice cream cone again, eyes not leaving me >”Well, yeah silly. I did what you told me to…. Sort of.” She says >”I accidentally wandered off, and realized I couldn't see you, so I just stayed here. Of course, I walked over and got us ice cream, because I knew you’d find me soon, so I sat here and waited.” >She gestures with the cone, and I look to where she motioned >Right over there is the area where I was with the Weeping Ork >Not even 40 ft away >...the opposite direction >If I had just… turned around… >I would have saw her >... >Did I… >Panic? >”Doc? Really? Are you okay?” Savia asks, her tone taking on slight concern >I just nod my head >”I’m… I’m fine Savia, I’m fine. I’m glad I found you.” I tell her, trying to hide my exhaustion >Savia cocks her head >”Well, yeah, you did. Of course you would, you said you would. Why…” her voice trails off, her eyes widening >”...Doc? Were you… worried? About me?” >I look Savia in the eyes >There seems to be a certain amount of amusement to them, almost looking like the harpy is trying to hide a smile >I let out a long sigh and sit down >”I… I might have been. I was worried abo- for you, worried for you. Since it was your first time here. I was scared you might be lost, and worried something might happen to you.” >Savia chuckles >”Aw, Doc, it’s nice to know I make you worry.” >She says it with a little wink, a redness coming to her cheeks >”Don’t worry though, I’m safe, and I even got us ice cream!” >She says it proudly, before looking at the half eaten cone >Her eyes shift from the cone to me, then back to the cone >”Well, I *had* bought us ice cream. Two cones. Then it was weird holding two, so I ate mine, and then yours started melting so I started licking off the melted bits, then biting off the soggy cone, and then… yeah…” >She looks from me to the cone, before finishing it in a single large bite >”I’ll just get you a new one, as a thanks for being worried about me.” >I sigh, and hang my head into my hands >”I… I am okay without ice cream, thank you.” >I feel something scooch up besides me >A finger pokes at my face >an odd hum follows >”...Do you just want to go home Doc? Back to the clinic?” >”...I think that would be best.” >Our journey back to the clinic is uneventful >When we make it back I unload the produce into the kitchen, and Savia takes her clothing and books back to her patient room >As I stock the pantry and the shelves I feel exhausted >The adrenaline from earlier seems to be wearing off, which makes me want to turn in for bed early >Which, considering it is already dark, might not be the worst idea >However, I have something to do before hand >I go into one of my old storage closets and pull out a TV on a rolling cart >And of course, it has a DVD player attached to it so she can play her movie >In hindsight, I should have thought of that earlier >I have heard harpys do enjoy TV >Perhaps, the next time we go to The Shops, I can see if they have some video game systems >Assuming that Savia enjoys video games of course >... >Of course… that would make her stay more… permanent >I realize my brain refusing to accept the fact that she is going to be leaving sooner than later >She is a patient after all, and her recovery is going well >In fact, I’d argue that she is almost… completely recovered >She doesn't have any complications, no long term effects >Hell, she doesn't even need any medications >I took her off the IV’s long ago, and I’m sure there's a small layer of dust on her vitals monitors >For all senses of the words, she is… better >And after today, I realize, she is remarkably better socially >She can handle herself now >I… >I wonder if she is planning on checking out soon >All she needs to do is give me the word now >It is something I wonder about as I cook dinner for us >Just something simple >Grilled cheeses and thick stew, along with some veggies for snacking on >I even prepare Savia some popcorn as a surprise for her movie, and pair it with some Cola I had sitting around >Not very healthy to have Soda in the clinic, but, it does work in a pinch for low blood sugar on the go >I take the food to her room >Pushing it on the TV cart >As I open the door, Savia spins around, her face visibly red >Blankets fly into the air as she tosses something >”OH UH DOC… I uh… hey, how's it going?” She says >I realize I probably should have knocked on the door before coming in >Afterall, this is her room >”Sorry to bother you Savia, just wanted to bring in dinner and a surprise for you.” >Her panicked surprise slowly shifts to a pleased surprise >”Is that a TV?” >”For your movie, yes. I also brought you dinner, and of course, something for the movie.” >Savias eyes go to the popcorn and the soda, then back to me >Her eyes go wide, a sly smile coming to her face >”Are you… going to join me for the movie Doc?” >I feel my mind blank >It is an obvious suggestion >One I didnt consider >And I realize, there is only one place to watch it >On her bed >With her >The idea of sharing the bed with Savia is… tempting >Being close to her, practically hugging her >Like something out of a bad romance movie >The two soon to be lovers hugging each other >Getting close, then closer still >Exchanging impassioned kisses, then exploring each other further >I shake my head, and force a yawn >”Terribly sorry Savia, but I am rather tired. Not tonight, but thank you for the offer.” >Savia looks at the tv, then to me, and then back to the bed, her eyes lingering on it, before looking to me >”Ok, alright, that's alright Doc, really, you should get to bed, really really.” She says, almost shooing me away >There's an anxious tone to her voice >Anxious and… excited? >Either way, her reaction is interesting… >I’d expect her to ask, maybe beg even as she had before >Implore me to stay, even ask if I would join her a different night >It is almost disappointing >But, I should see it as a good thing >She doesn't need me, which is good for her >”I… alright Savia, if you need anything, you know where I am.” >Savia nods very excitedly, smiling widely, her hand going to the popcorn bowl >”Oh yep, definitely, sure Doc, I do. You just go and sleep, you look really tired. Just lay down in bed and get to sleep.” >I bid Savia a goodnight, and turn to leave her room >Just as I am about to close the door, I hear her voice speak up >”Oh, and… Doc?” >I turn back to her >”Thank you, for today, for everything, I… I can’t thank you enough Doc.” >Her smile is as wide as her eyes >Shining and bright, full of genuine joy >And her voice… >A certain tone to it >Anxious, happy, excited >I… really hope she enjoys that movie >I go back to my room and change into my nightwear >Climb into my bed, feeling my bones finally resting >I feel tired >But I don’t think it is the tired that sleep can fix >I… I know this is all caused by Savia >She has been on my mind too much >I think taking care of her this long and this intimately has afflicted me with some syndrome >I have no idea what it might be >Florence nightingale Syndrome? Something opposite to that? Savior syndrome? A different one? >It is… I have not felt like this ever >I do not like feeling like this either >I know that seeing her leave will only hurt me >But Savia has to leave >I know how she feels about me, and I would never want to let her know I feel similar >I am not the one for her, and she is not for me >Despite how badly I may want it, I can’t >it’s not right >It is against what I stand for, I cannot take advantage of her like that >She doesnt know better, and I do >Both our brains are playing tricks on ourselves >It is not a real attachment, just a psychological trick >I cannot let my brain trick me into doing something which I know is wrong >Savia is my patient, I cannot do anything with her, no matter how bad any part of me wants to >Maybe it would be better if she left sooner… >I end up reading a book to get my mind off of my patient >A history book, of course >As any fiction would only make my mind work more >Slowly, I doze off, setting my book to the side >My sleep is deep, dreamless, perfect >Until I hear something >My mind slowly drags me from my slumber >My eyes are hazy, my brain foggy >My nightlight is still on, faintly illuminating my room >I notice a vaguely humanoid silhouette at the now open door >Emerald colors accenting it as it stands there, slowly closing the door behind it >”Sorry Doc, did I wake you?” It asks, the voice familiar >I rub my eyes, clearing them, seeing Savia standing in the doorway >There's a sly, knowing smile to her face >I shake my head, grumbling >”It is fine Savia, how are you?” I say >She nods, smiling, seemingly ignoring me >”I’m… I got something I need your help with, Doc.” Savia says, giggling to herself >Sleepily, I sit up, trying to study Savia, my foggy mind keeping me from immediate action >She seems fine, at a glance >Happy even, no sense or sight of malaise >Although she is wearing her old medical gown, which has me puzzled >”I… did you lose your pajamas?” I fumble the words out of my mouth >She shakes her head no, slowly walking towards me >”I… thought I’d wear this for old time sakes, but really, I need you to help me with something Doc.” >Her tone is insistent as she walks up to the foot of my bed, her wing behind her back, harpy legs slowly strutting her towards me >She stops at the foot of my bed, staring at me >”Can you help me Doc? I uh… want you to perform a physical on me.” >She says it with a giggle, an odd smile on her face >... >A physical? At this hour? >I blink the sleep from my eyes >”I… I think I could, yes.” >What a patient needs, a patient needs, no matter the hour >Savia’s smile grows widely >”Oh, thanks Doc, really, thanks, here, let me make it easier on you.” >Before I can get up from the bed, or even ask Savia what she means, her wing moves in a flash >In a blur of emerald, her medical gown drops >Revealing under it the charcoal gray lingerie from the shops >The sight of the nightwear on the harpy in front of me makes my mind freeze >The bra perfectly cupping her breasts, pushing them up, making them appear fuller than they already were, the pale skin contrasting to the dark color of the fabric >The garters squishing into her thighs, accenting their softness, pulling the eyes towards them, the laciness of the panties their attached to practically making them translucent >I can see the gentle puff of emerald green feathery pubes under it >Savia steps onto the foot of my bed, towering over me, the smiling harpy gentle swaying her hips side to side, letting me drink in the sight of her >”Hope you're not too tired, because I want you to check over every last inch of me Doc.” >Savias tone is sultry, needy >The harpy slowly lowers herself down to her knees, her single hand going to the edge of my blankets, slowly pulling it back >I feel frozen, unable to move as Savia crawls up the bed >She leans over me on her wing and knees, bringing her face close to mine >I can feel her breath tickle my face, it smelling of strawberries and cherry >”Or maybe… should I give you a checkup Doc? Or give you a physical? I think I could… I can look you all over, get a… feel for you.” >Her eyes are hazy and smoky >The bright green one energetic, aroused, buzzing, her hazy jade eye smooth, sultry >Two sides of the same coin >Her face so close and her eyes looking into mine fill me with what feels like lighting >I look away, my face feeling flush >The only other thing I can see is her soft, smooth body >Filled out completely, the lingerie wrapping around her gentle curves >I can see down her top, through the valley of her cleavage, all the way down her midriff >Savia lowers herself onto my waist, something which draws a gasp from me >I can feel the burning wetness of her arousal pressing onto my manhood, only the sheer fabric of her panties and the single layer of my pajamas keeping our bare skins from touching >”God Doc, you're burning up down there.” Savia giggles to me >I can feel her gently wiggle her hips against me, the feeling of arousal practically painful >She sits up, her smile practically sadistic >”Come on Doc, I thought you agreed to a physical? You need to touch me to do that.” >I feel her hand go to me wrist, bringing it up to her chest >My body practically moves on its own, cupping her breast as her hand goes to my other wrist, taking my off hand to her hip, my fingers sinking into the soft flesh >Savia giggles, a pigeon-like coo escaping her throat >”Just like that Doc, you can feel me, it's okay. I want this, and I know you want this.” >I can feel myself burning up as I squeeze her soft skin, feeling her curves >She is the perfect specimen of femininity >Dragging me in, making me want to feel her more, to explore every part of her >And… Savia’s face shows she feels the same way >Her cute feature split with a grin, showing off her white, pointy, lewd harpy smile, her cheeks burning brighter red than the sun >I can hear small moans and chirps coming from her mouth, the harpy rocking her hips against my manhood >”Feel all you want Doc, don’t be shy, it’s all for you. I want all of you, just like you want all of me. And when you've had enough, we can go even further, we have all night long Doc. Just me and you, a doctor and his patient.” >the sound of her voice needy and insistent >As if this is all there is in the world >Just me and her, nothing else >A burning which only this can soothe >It feels… right >Just me and Savia >A patient and her doctor >A… >... >What am I doing? >oh no >No No NO >DOC >WHAT ARE YOU DOING >”WHAT AM I DOING?!” >The shout escapes my mouth >My breathing is harsh, fast, ragged >Panic filling my body >”D-Doc? You okay?” >I realize Savia has stopped everything >The light in her eyes is gone as she stares down at me >She seems deflated all of the sudden >My hands have left her body >Savias eyes are downcast >”D-Doc, come on, please.” >I shake my head, trying to contain myself >”Savia, please, I’m… I’m sorry, I can’t.” >Savias face turns to a disgruntled frown, the harpy swinging her leg off me >She shifts to the side of the bed, sitting on it slumped over, a dejected air about her >”I’m… Savia I’m sorry.” >She looks back at me, her face pouty, cheeks puffed >I swing myself around, sitting next to her >I feel a deep sense of shame >Shame, guilt, anger, hatred, sadness >All towards myself >Savia leans close to me, wrapping her arm around me, trying to bring me towards her >”Doc, please, why can’t we?” >I look into Savias eyes >The lusty look from earlier is gone >They’re sad, pleading, begging the question >I turn away quickly >I can’t stand to look into those eyes >”Doc? Do you hate me?” >The question is deadpan >Serious >It makes my heart feel like a lance has been ran through it >I quickly shake my head no, stuttering as I answer >”No Savia, I do not hate you. I… feel very strongly about you. I would never be able to hate you, no.” >The answer seems to do little to salve her >”Then what is it? Am I ugly? Do you think I’m… ugly because of my arm? Because I’m a harpy? Because of how I was when you first saw me?” >The practically makes me scoff >”Savia, I… you're one of the most attractive women I have ever met. It is not that.” >The answer seems to only frustrate her further >The harpys pout turning into a frustrated frown >”God damn it Doc, what the fuck is it then?!” >I grit my teeth, dread creeping its way into my mind >”Savia, it is nothing from you. I promise that. Savia, I…” >I feel the words rising in my throat painfully >”I care for you Savia, as more than a doctor, than a friend, than anything else.” >I look to Savia, her face twisted in a puzzled mask >”Do you… love me Doc? Do you love me like I love you?” >The question sends my mind into a panic >I know what I want to say, how to say, what I need to say to her >”Savia, I… I can’t.” >It hurts to say this >I expect anger from her >And it would be justified >I feel it would be, for sure >And maybe that is what makes this feel the worst >Savias face… softness >She lets out a long sigh >”Because… I’m a patient?” >The question doesn't sound frustrated, or angered >More just… a blank realization >I nod slowly >”Why? Why is it?” >The question is curious, begging for an answer >”It’s not real Savia.” >Saying it makes my chest feel like a weight has been put on it >Savia’s lip curls into a pouty frown, her eyes becoming sad >”Not… not real?” >I nod in agreement >”Not real Savia. It’s… some syndrome, some effect, some psychological trick. I.. I want to love you, it feels like I love you, but it is… it has to be something else. I cannot fall in love with a patient. Patients fall in love with their doctors, it happens, but I have to be better than that. I cannot be with a patient, not in my life.” >I try not to choke on my own words, to let the sadness get into them >I feel my head fall into my hands, being held in my lap >”I am sorry Savia.” >The words feel hollow, empty >A simple apology cannot help with this, at least, I feel it cannot >Slowly, I look to Savia >I expect sadness, crying, perhaps even anger at this seemingly final rejection >But her face seems to be lost in thought >The harpy scratching her chin, brow furrowed, humming to herself >”So… you’d… never sleep with a patient?” >I shake my head >”I never would, I cannot.” >”Like, never ever?” >”Savia…” I sigh out >She is not making this easy >She nods, humming to herself again >Then her eyes blink, a light coming to them >As if there was some grand epiphany >”Ah, I see…. I understand now.” >Savia gives me a bittersweet smile >”I’m… I’m sorry Doc… youre right. I should not have tried.” >She laughs to herself, shaking her head as she stands up >”Fucking hell Doc, I’m sorry. I… I realize it now.” >She picks up her medical gown, wrapping it back on her body, covering herself back up >”Doc, I’m sorry. And… I realize, you're right. It is wrong…” >Her tone lingers as her eyes shift back to me >”...and, I realize… I have been in your care for… a really long time. I know how it can be. I think…. Doc, I think I’m ready to move on.” >It feels like a flashbang has been set off in my mind >”...I… you want to…” >Savia nods, a sardonic smile on her face >”Yeah, I… My recovery is good. I realize I’m all good now. And you made me realize… I don’t need to be here as a patient anymore.” >Savia gives me a single laugh, shaking her head >”I’m ready to go home Doc. Tomorrow can we… work on my discharge paper?” >A numbness fills my mind and body >I can only manage a shallow nod >Savia clicks her teeth, nodding back >”Awesome, thanks Doc. Sorry to bother you, I’ll just let you rest.” She says, turning back to the door >I watch as she opens it, the harpy not giving me a single second thought >I want to call back out to her, to bring her back, but I know I cannot >This is for the best afterall >I… I knew it… >”Night Doc, sleep good.” She calls without even turning back >I open my mouth to say goodnight, but the door has already closed >And I am left in my room >Sitting there, all alone >... >I guess… I got what I wanted? >Yet why do I feel like this? >Sleep does not come to me >I can only stare at the ceiling >I… I guess it is happening >Savia being discharged >Her leaving >Her wanting to leave >Everything from last night repeatedly plays through my mind >I keep thinking of how different I could have handled that situation >Different words I could have said, different ways I could have acted >All for a different outcome, one that was not this >Instead… >My teeth feel like they might break with how much I have been grinding them >I feel hatred towards myself >My alarm goes off >Letting me know it is time to wake up >Time to get this over with >Time to say goodbye to Savia >My shower is quick and cold >I go to Savias room, the paperwork for discharge on a clipboard under my arm >She is already up and ready >Dressed in one of her new outfits, Spandex jorts and a easy slip on top >Her possessions neatly folded and prepared to be packed >”S’up Doc, morning. Are you ready?” She says curtly, a grin on her face >I nod silently, trying my best to hide my own emotions >Savia seems to be… happy about this >Well, I guess she would be >After I have rebuffed her so many times… >All the rejections of her advances and affection >She would be right to be >I walk her over the paperwork, where to sign, what to do >She takes to it easily, breezing through it >We’re done in a manner of minutes >Just like that… the paperwork is done >... >That is good, I guess >I offer Savia one of my spare adventurers packs to hold all of her belongings, and she happily takes it >I sit with Savia as she folds and packs her items into the bag, her few worldly possessions filling the sack easily >”So, do you know where you are going?” I ask, trying to put on my best friendly tone, trying to force down my own dread >Savia shrugs as best as she can >”Well, you know, might do my same old shit of going around and exploring. I forgot how that was. You made me realize I liked doing that.” >She says it offhand, dismissively >I put on my best smile >”Well, I do hope you have the best of luck with that Savia. And, if you ever need it, I am always here at my clinic for you. Stop in at any time, even to just visit.” >Adding the last part sounds like a stretch, but it does make Savia giggle >She swings the pack of her shoulder, eyeing me up and down >”I… You might see me around on occasion Doc.” She says playfully punching my shoulder >”You're my Doc after all, can’t let you get lonely.” >That affirmation does help my spirit, even if just slightly >Savia gives her room a once over, humming to herself >”I might almost miss this room, almost.” She laughs before looking to me >”Well Doc, I’m already. Care to uh… walk me out?” >I look Savia in the eyes >As much as it hurts, I have to >I nod yes >”It would be my pleasure.” >Normally, it would be >There is nothing more fulfilling for a doctor than to know a patient, especially one who was as in grim straights as Savia, has made a full recovery >I sometimes dubbed it the walk of pride >An awfully silly name >And yet, even here, it feels like a walk of sadness >Bittersweet to all hell and back >I take Savia to the front door of my clinic >Where she used to be afraid to walk out >And now, it would seem she can’t wait to >She keeps looking from the door, and then to me >”So, as soon as I step out… I’m done?” She asks, her tone distant >”Yes, as soon as you step out that door, you're no longer my patient. I will have finished my duty as a doctor.” >Savia nods, her eyes looking out the open door >”After all this… Doc, really, I can’t thank you enough.” >I open my mouth to speak, but before I can, I feel her lunge at me >The harpy wraps me in a hug, giggling to herself >”Doc… I.. Thank you for everything Doc, thank you. Thank you for sticking with me, and sticking by me. Thank you for it all.” >I wrap my arms around her, squeezing her tightly >I fight the urge to cry >A fight that I am losing >I care for this harpy so much >I love her >And if you love something, you must set it free >”Savia, I would… I would do it all over again, every last minute, all in a heartbeat.” >Savia breaks the hug, wiping a tear from her eye >She laughs as she sees me >”Don’t cry cause its over Doc, smile cause we met.” She says >I feel her wing go to my face, the feathers wiping my tears away >She turns from me, letting out a long sigh >I watch as she walks to the door, staring at the boundary on the floor >She looks back to me, and smiles widely >And with a single movement, her bird like leg hits the ground outside >It hits me like a punch >She takes another step out, and stretches, staring at the sun >I lean into the doorframe, looking at the harpy >Marveling at her >Holding it all back >Savia turns from the sun, and looks back at me >She smiles widely, giggling >”I’m… I’m no longer you're patient Doc.” >I give Savia a curt nod >”You're not. You are free to go and do whatever you want.” >Savia laughs, locking eyes with me >”Good.” >It hits me like a truck >The full impact of a harpy leaping at me >Savia knocks me back a single step as I catch her >Her single arm wraps around the back of my neck >Her lips press into mine, the harpy forcing my face onto hers >My body goes rigid as Savia mouths at my lips, the harpy moaning into my mouth >I feel myself melt into her body, my initial reaction softening as my arms wrap around her back, bringing the harpy closer into me >The kiss sends fireworks into my brain, sparks tingling up and down my spine >Savia pulls herself back from me, the harpy panting wildly, her voice half laughter, a strand of saliva linking her face to mine >”God Doc, I've wanted to do that for so long.” >My mind is full of questions, panic, wonder >”I… Savia I…” >Savia shushes me, her finger going to my lips >”Doc, please, it’s okay, don’t worry. Afterall, you said it yourself…” >She looks at me with a loving, bright eyed face >Boht her eyes full of sparks and life >”...Doc, I’m no longer your patient.” >... >The words echo in my brain >That is… >That is not how this works >There's more to it than just signing papers, and walking across a door >Some odd technicality or another doesn't change something >But… >To hell with it >She’s technically correct >And that's good enough for me >”Doc? Any response to that?” >I blink twice, then shake my head no >Which makes Savia smile widely >”Oh hell yeah, finally. I thou-” >I cut off any further retort with another kiss, bringing the harpys face to mine >Savia melts into it it, cooing loudly, her arm wrapping tighter around me, the harpy practically climbing onto me >I humor the harpy, picking her up, hooking a hand under her backside >She responds in kind, wrapping her legs around my waist, desperately clinging to my body >We break the kiss again, the harpy panting >”C-can we… pick up where we left off last night?” She asks me, her voice uneven, anxious, shaky with excitement >She looks nervous down at her top >”I uh… even…” >Her finger goes to the neck of her shirt, and she pulls it aside >Revealing the charcoal gray lingerie under it >”...dressed for the occasion, you know?” >... >I… >I love this harpy >”Savia, there's nothing else I’d rather love to do with you right now.” >Her cheeks go red, and she giggles >”Doc?” >”Yes Savia?” >”I fucking love you.” >”I… I love you too.” >I carry Savia back >Stumbling through the hallways as I hold her, taking her back to my bedroom >My steps uneven as I am half distracted by the harpy I am holding >And her flurry of kisses she pelts me with, chirping and giggling with each little peck >I respond in kind, mouthing at her cheeks, dragging my lips across the nape of her neck, nibbling at her earlobes >I practically slam into my door, fumbling for the handle >It gives way, swinging in, as we lurch inside >I step over to the bed, and toss Savia onto it >The harpy lands with a soft thump, her smile wide, giggling in a lust tone >”Don’t be too rough Doc… Just… rough enough.” Savia giggles out, before laughing more >”Fuck, sorry, that sounded lame as hell.” >I can’t help but laugh as well >”It.. It undoubtedly is, but, it… it fits you.” I say >I lean down to Savia, bringing my face close to her >”But… I will be, don’t worry.” >her face goes bright red, and she makes a sound not quite unlike a tea kettle >Her hand goes to her face >”Doc! You can’t say shit like that to me.” She squeals out, giggling >She smiles, before looking down at herself >”But uh… how about you… help me out of this?” >I feel my own face go red >I look down to Savias spats, the hem barely showing the fabric of the lingerie under them >My eyes then go up to her top, the strings of it already half off, her harpy cleavage already showing >”It’s not just for looking Doc, you can… touch.” Savia giggles quietly, her voice giddy >My hands shakily go to the hem of her spats >barerly touching it >”w-WAIT WAIT WAIT.” >I snatch back my hands >Savia has a panicky look to her face >Oh >Oh no >it is possible she’s getting cold feet >I >I don’t- >”I’m doing this.” >Savia practically throws me away from the bed >”I’ve wanted to do this for so long Doc, you're going to let me do this. I Want this as much as you do, but you’re going to let me do this.” >Her voice is firm with conviction, emerald eye burning brightly >I stare at her dumbly, blanky, at the sheer amount of authority she’s radiating >She gets up, her grin wide >”Well, come on Doc, don’t just stand there like a tree, lay down on the bed… and just… leave it to me, alright?” >... >Who am I to argue? >I lay down on the bed, Savia watching me with delight, her pointy teeth gnawing on her lip >No sooner than I lay down, she is at the foot of my bed >Staring at me, her eyes trailing over my body >She strips out of the tank top, removing the article like lighting, throwing it aside >Savia hops up onto the bed, hand hooked under the waistband of her spats, shimmying them down as she saunters to me >She kicks them off her leg, and she throws them at me >I feel the warm garment hit my face, and I quickly take it off >And standing there… is Savia >Charcoal grey lingerie clinging to her curves >It accents the emerald flash of her hair and feathers >Her eyes look at me lustily, a smokey gaze to them >One bright, brilliant emeral, the other a dull, beautiful, hazy greyish jade >I drink it all in, my eyes trailing all up and down her >It feels like the first drink of cold water after being parched in the heat all day >Rejuvenating, exciting, near intoxicating >I can enjoy it completely >No shame, no guilt >Her smile a wicked, lascavious grin of desire >She saunters across the bed slowly, looming over me >She leans down, giving me the view of her valley of her cleavage >”Come on Doc, let’s get you more comfortable.” She says, her hand going to the hem of my shirt >She quickly tugs it up, my hands going to help her as I wrestle out of the clothes >She looks at me with a hungry smile, Savia leaning down to my face >She plants a quick kiss at my lips >Then another on my cheek >And another, trailing slightly differently >And another, closer to my ear >She sucks at the skin of my necks nape, sending tingles into my brain >She plants another kiss lower on my neck, trailing them down to my collarbones >Savia plants more and more kisses across my chest, each one going lower and lower, trailing down to my waist >She stops at my pants, flicking her eyes up to me, her hand going to my belt >I reach to help her, and she shakes her head no >With one hand, she deftly undoes my belt, sliding it off >She unbuckles my pants with similar ease, undoing the zipper on them >I can see a blush entering her face >”I uh… may have been looking up how to do this one handed.” She mutters, dragging at my pants, lowering her head down >She tugs them down, planting another kiss at the elastic band of my underwear >She then giggles, before planting a kiss directly on my bulge >I jolt at the feeling, Savia’s lingering mouth blowing her all-too-hot breath on my most sensitive area >She plants another kiss on the fabric covering my manhood, her lips slowly, lingeringly leaving it >She easily grabs off whats left of my pants, tugging them away, discarding them >I am now under her in just my undergarments, functionally naked in all senses >She repositions herself to straddle my waist, slowly lowering herself down >Slowly, ever so agonizingly slowly, she seats herself down, her womanhood lined up along the line of my erection >Just like last night, she gently rubs herself along my length, cooing and giggling to herself >I can feel the warmth of Savias slit burning up against me >Rushing with hot arousal, her pulse throbbing against my member >She’s soaking through her panties, her neediness seeping damply through my own clothes >A neediness which I can actually feel myself, my manhood painfully erect as she grinds herself against it >The damp fabric rubbing against me, I can feel myself trembling >Despite myself, I squirm under the harpy, my hips moving on their own accord >Each of her movements draw a pained gasp from my mouth >One which Savia seems to take delight in >I can feel her own body trembling under my touch, shaking with excitement >Her aroused cooing, the harpy chirping in delight as my hands wander freely over her skin >She mutters lusty nothings under her breath, voice wavering with passion >I can see it in her eyes as Savia licks her teeth >Like a predator on top of its prey >Savoring the kill after a long, painful hunt >The desire to rip into it, take what she knows is rightfully hers >And yet, she doesn't >She slows her grinding down, her hand going to the bulge in my underwear which she has so slicked with her own arousal >I can hear Savia giggle as she traces the outline of it through the garment, running a single finger >A moan escapes my mouth as she runs the finger under my tip, her eyes widening >”Doc…” She says, her voice distant and lusty >”I… I really like that sound.” >She says it in a voice I’ve not heard come from her throat before >She is not like a predator, no >She IS a predator >Savia knows I am hers now, and she wants to drag this out as long as she can >Her eyes flick from my face, to my waste, going back and forth several times >Slowly, she hooks a finger under my waistband, her hand mere centimeters from my bare manhood >I can see a flicker of hesitancy on her face >”Uh… you want to… let me help you get more comfortable there Doc?” >Her voice wavers slightly >I can see her slight tremble increase >The fire in her eyes… >It’s slowly turned to panic >She swallows hard >”Y-y-you know if you want i-” >A different look comes across her face >”Oh shit nevermind Doc I-” >”Savia?” >My voice cuts her off >She looks like she’s seen a ghost >”Just… stop, here.” I say >It almost seems like theres relief >”y-yeah, youre right Doc I’m sorry I ju-” >”Let me do it for you.” >She freezes, almost flinching >Her eyes lock with mine >”Wait… you… you actually want to-” >”Yes, I do.” I cut her off, firmly nodding my head >She stares at me dumbly as my hands slide off her, trailing along her curves >They go to my waistband, and I slowly begin to slide of the only remaining garment of clothes on my body >Savia watches it as if I am performing an exotic surgery, eyes wide, practically bewildered >Then the widen for a different reason >She shifts her balance, allowing me to fully remove the garment, throwing it aside >Savia blinks rapidly, flashes of emerald and jade studying me >”Holy shit.” She mutters, looking at me, her cheeks turning red >”Doc? Youre… youre… naked” >She practically whispers the last part, voice in disbelief >I nod >”Thats… a very good observation Savia.” >Her hand shakily goes to my now exposed manhood, trembling in what I can only assume is excitement and anxiety >She wraps her fingers around my length, giving it an experimental squeeze >She flinches back as my breath hisses from my teeth, but leans in more >Savia slowly moves her hand up and down, my member already slick with a mixture of both our arousals >Slowly, her bewildered expression turns into one of joy, a smile creeping to the edges of her lips >Her eyes trail up to my face, her grin widening as she watches me, her hand picking up its pace >”Hey, Doc…. You’re… you're like this from me?” >I can only nod in return >Her hand goes quicker >Her eyes darting all around >I can see her drinking in the sight of me under her, my body shivering at her very touch, knowing that every sound I am making, every movement, every breath cut off, is all because of her >”Holy shit Doc, youre like this because of me!” She says, her voice coming in a laughing tone >She stops moving her hand, only to reposition herself, letting her fabric covered womanhood rest on top of my erection >It feels unbearably sensitive as Savia slides herself across me, the harpy giggling and cooing like a pigeon as she moves >I can feel her arousal soaking through the panties, the cusp of her lower lips kissing the skin of my manhood >She lets out a giddy moan, groaning as she gyrates herself against my member, her hands planted firmly on my body >She slides herself up to my tip, slowly working her body back down >My mind feels like it is going haywire with every movement of Savias teasing >”Feel that Doc?” She asks me, a giggle in her voice >I nod, unable to speak, my body trying its best to not lose control >”You made me feel like thuis every day. Every day for… for… fuck I have no idea how long.” She says, accenting her point by grinding against my tip >”Doc, I really really REALLY love you, but I’m not gonna let you off easy for any of that.” Savia says >She rocks her hips back and forth, a smile on her face >”Do you know how much you made me burn up Doc? How long I’ve been dreaming of this?” She asks, her grinding getting more insistent >”Too long Doc, too long.” She groans, her hips moving frantically >I feel every last ounce of her frustration being metted out in kind on my own body >Every ounce of sexual repression being magnified ten fold >”Y-you know how many times I had to make myself stay quite as I imagined myself doing this to you? Way too many. That damn heart monitor always gave it away though.” She laughs to herself, her rapid grinding reaching a crescendo >I feel myself about to lose it, to give in and climax, when Savia suddenly stops >She growls and cusses loudly, suddenly standing up >Her hand goes to the panties, quickly pulling them down, throwing them aside >She lowers herself back down, her bare womanhood on my member, her folders embracing me as she begins to rub herself against me anew >Her hand goes to her bra, savings hips moving on their own accord, humping themselves against me rapidly >She fumbles at the clip in front, needy fingers desperately trying to undo it >”Fucking piece of… fucking fuck. Just let me-” >My hands reach up, holding the clasp, undoing it immediately >The tension undoes itself, the bra dropping, no longer cupping Savias breasts >She stops still, shrugging herself out of the lingerie >Her face is red as she looks down at me, an embarrassed smile on her face >”Hah… uh… thanks.” She mutters, her blush deepening red as she looks at her own naked body >”I uh… Sorry Doc, I’m just… really fucking pent up and shit right now.” She says, her hips squirming against me >”You… don’t have to stop Savia.” I tell her, feeling my own painfully mounting impatience and arousal >Savia smiles as I shift uncomfortably under her, a devious look coming to her eyes >Her hand goes to mine, grabbing it by the wrist, taking it to her breast >She repeats the process with my other wrist, each hand cupping a handful of her breasts >I knead them gently in my grasp, Savia gritting her teeth, eyes closing gently >”Come on Doc, touch em, please. Just like with the aloe, please.” >Her skin is soft, buttery, almost supernaturally so >Harpys are the softest creatures known to man >My thumbs go to her nipples, gently playing across them >Savia winces, a pleased breath hissing from her mouth >Slowly, I roll her nipple in my graps, gently applying pressure to the knubs >Savia bites her lip, eyes going closer, the harpy nodded fast >My grasp becomes a little firmer, still being careful with the harpy >Like squeezing a delicate fruit, checking for ripeness, being sure to not bruise or injure >It’s bewildering how shes filled out since I first saw her >Her chest is not large by any metric >Yet it is perfectly sized, a wonderful handful >Just enough and thensome, a tastefully perfect amount of harpy breast >I can hear Savia snicker a little, a giggle in her voice >She’s looking down at me endearingly, eyes bright >No doubt enjoying how enraptured I am by her chest >”I… I’m glad you like em Doc, because they’re all yours, anytime you want them. All of me is all yours, any time, any place, got it?” >She leans down close to my ear, her voice breathy and needy >”And you’re mine Doc, okay? You’re all mine, and I’m all yours, and you’re really really all mine. You’re mine” She says >”Yes, Savia, I’m yours, and you're mine.” I repeat to her, the harpy leaning back up, her smiling showing her relish as she rubs against me, my hands still clinging to her chest >She pauses, looking down, licking her lips >Savia shifts herself, raising her body off my erection, her hand going to it >I freeze, my hands falling away from her chest, sliding down to her hips >She lifts up my manhood, straightening it, positioning herself above me >Savia slowly lowers herself down, her entrance resting on my tip, the burning arousal of her womanhood throbbing against the sensitive skin of my head >She lowers herself down slightly more, shivering as I feel my own gasp escape from my throat >Then, she stops, so agonizingly close >”Hey, Doc?” She asks, looking at me with a needy face >”Y-Yes Savia?” I ask, my own voice just as desperate >Her cheeks are burning red, from what or why I don’t know >”I’ve wanted this a long time Doc, a really long time. I just… Do you want this too Doc? Like really really want it?” She asks, eyes drifting around >... >After all this, and she still is worried >”Look Doc, it’s… I don’t want to rush you on this, I don’t want to make you feel forced. I want to know that you really really want this. Not just to make me happy, but that you want it. I c-could… I’d be fine stopping Doc if you don’t want this.” >I look for a semblance of nervousness on her face >And yet… >She is serious >Do I? >Do I want this? >... >Of course I do >”Yes Savia, yes.” >She smiles, lowering herself a little >I can feel myself start to part her folds >”Wait” >Savia raises herself again a little >”Not just because it's like… we're already here and it would be weird to stop, right? Or that like… a whole ‘oh might as well’ but like, you really REALLY-” >”Savia?” >I cut off the harpy >She gives me a sheepish smile >”Yes, Savia, I want this.” >... >It feels weird to say >But, I really do want this >”It… may surprise you Savia, but I have wanted this for a long while as well. So yes, I am more than fine with this.” >Savia smiles widely >”Oh thank fuck.” >She slowly lowers herself down, gently stroking her womanhood along my shaft >And I realize… I am not inside of her >She rocks herself along my mandhood more, groaning to herself as she humps my body >A devilish smile is on her face >”Well, come on Doc.” She moans out, her body trembling, “Why not you take it then?” >... >My hands fall down to their sides, limp >.... >”Doc? Just going to lay there?” >My hands slowly go to Savias thighs, caressing them gently >”Doc? Are you-” >I flip Savia onto her back >In a swift moment, I have her pinned under me >My heart is racing in my chest, pounding like a drum >Her eyes are wide, wild, darting everywhere >Her chest heaving in anticipation >”Oh fuck yeah Doc.” She says with a happy laugh >I lean down and kiss her, my hand pinning hers to the bed >Savia writhes and wiggles under me, her happy harpy cooing like music to my ears >My off hand travels to her breast, gently kneading it in my grip, Savia groaning at the touch >My fingers rubs her nipple, and Savia yelps loudly >I let her other hand go, the fingers grabbing the bedsheets >I rub my off hand along her body, tracing the curves of it down >All the way down from her midriff >And then lower past that, caressing her pubic mound >Savia moans as my finger dances across her pubes, the light, feathery fluff matted and sticky with her damp arousal >Savia moans into my mouth as I keep kissing her, my finger finding the valley of a slit >It slides into the valley with ease, her arousal lubricating the entrance, Savia groaning as I gently rub her womanhood >I trace up, and around her anatomy in my mind, my fingers searching >It bumps against something, a small nub >Savia jolts, freezing >Her eyes widen as she breaks the kiss, almost as if she is backing away >I gently press into the nub again, and Savias whole body shivers >She smiles a panicked, giddy smile >”Uh… Doc? You know what that is, right?” >I nod >”Yes, I am aware of anatomy. I know what it is.” >Savias eyes dart between my face and my precariously positioned hand >”You… you know that's.. thats super sensitive, right?” She laughs nervously >I nod again >”I VERY much know.” >Savia gives me a tight lipped smile >”Uh… you’re going to be gentle with that ri-” >I rub my finger firmly against Savias clit >The harpys legs shoot straight out, her hips bucking wildly >”FUCK” she yells loudly, throwing her head back >I rub firmly against it, taking care to not be too rough >Savia thrashes against my touch, moaning loudly, her womanhood becoming immediately soaked >I kiss and mouth at her neck, sucking on the flesh of it gently, nibbling at her collarbones >Savia is practically screaming, her face a mask of ecstasy, her eyes screwed shut >I keep rubbing, my slick finger going quicker and quicker >Savia suddenly goes quiet, her entire back arching >She lets out one last resounding squawk, her wing flailing, before her body goes limp >Her chest rises and falls rapidly, letting out a dozen rapid, shuddering breaths >She looks me in the eyes, a dopey smile on her face, a giggle and a coo coming to her tone >”I… fuck, okay. That makes up for… a lot of everything.” She whispers out. >... >”No, I’d say not. Not yet it hasn’t.” >Savias eyes go wide, a giddy smile coming to her face >”Oh fuck yeah, just give me a sec an-” >I immediately position myself over Savia >I don’t let her recover or get her bearings >I don’t want to >I don’t feel like myself >I feel… different >Because all of this is different >I feel like I belong to Savia now >Which means, she also belongs to me >This is my harpy >She can do to me what she wants >Which only means I can also do what I want to her >My hands go to her ankles, feeling the soft, smooth, scaly skin of them >In a fluid motion, I move her legs, folding them up to near her ears, above her shoulders >Her eyes widen, mouth open in disbelief, panting >I line myself back up with Savias entrance, my tip resting against it >I can still feel her womanhood trembling from her climax a minute earlier >Yet besides her trembling under me, despite the fact that she’s barely coherent >Savia nods >It’s all I need to see >I slam myself into Savia, hilting my length inside her >She chirps loudly, letting out a shuddering moan, the feathers along her arm puffing wildly >I slowly draw myself out of her, Savia throwing her head back, groaning loudly under me >I repeat the same movement, hilting myself again, Savias body jiggling from the recoil and force >She screams a loud moan, her spine curving, shooting her forward >She wraps her arm around me, burying her face in my neck >She panting loudly, each breath a pained moan >”Doc… Doc please…” >Her face is frantic, panicy >I feel the blood drain from my face >I… I hope I did not hurt her… >Maybe I am taking this too far… >”Please, Doc, Doc please…” She mutters out, her hand gripping onto my back, nails digging into my skin >”Please, I don’t care if you break me or not, keep doing that.” >... >I… >”What?” >Savia leans back >”Doc, fucking pound me into bits as hard as you want. Do it until you break me.” She says, her face serious >”I… okay Savia…” is my only response >”Seriously, Doc, just go at it. You've put me back together once, you can do it again.” >I nod >”Okay, I’ll-” >”Like really Doc, don’t leave me hanging here, I’ve been fantasizing about this for so long I can’t even remember. Fucking pound me until I’m a quivering mess and then pound me some more.” >”Okay Savia I really-” >”Doc you don’t understand, I need you to-” >I lean down and lock lips with Savia, slowly pushing myself into her further, the harpy’s body limply melting into mine >Her hand goes to the back of my head, and I can feel Savia slip her tongue into my mouth, the harpy cooing >I break the kiss, a messy line of saliva linking our mouths >Her eyes flutter rapidly, as if clearing herself from a dreamy state >”I understand Savia.” I tell her, planting another kiss on her cheek >”Just making sure Doc.” She giggles gently, the sound turning into a groan as I shift inside of her >I reposition myself, only to hilt myself again in Savia >Her hand grabs the back of my hair in a deathgrip, the harpy chirping in approval >I repeat the same action again, Savia shivering and gasping as if I doused her in ice water >I do it again, and again, and again >Falling into a rhythm of slamming as deep into the harpy as I can, each thrust bottoming out inside of her >Every singly movement met with a chirp, a moan, and squeak of pleasure >Savias body rocks underneath me, her breast bouncing back and forth with each movement >Her breathing comes in shallow pulls, not even panting, rather a quick hyperventilation with every one of her rapid heartbeats >She squirms with an electric pleasure, her body moving on its own accord >I can see her eyes going wild, her brain unable to handle anything >But I can see her mouthing something >Her eyes locked with mine, barely able to focus >She keeps mouthing the same sentence >”I love you Doc” >And I know she does >I can feel a smile creep onto my face, even as I feel sweat dripping from it >Between my own panting breathes of exertion and pleasure, I say it back to her >”I love you too Savia.” >I see her eyes go giddy, and a giggle escapes from her throat >The giggle quickly shifting into a moan and a squawk, as I feel her insides tighten around me >Savia curses loudly, her spine arching again >I feel her get slicker, practically impossibly soaking wet >Her hand shoots up to the bedsheets, white knuckling a fistful of them as she screams >I don’t take this as any sign to let up >I double down on Savia, speeding up >The sound of our bodies hitting each other wet and loud, mere fractions of a second between each slap of skin on skin >I shift my hands from her ankles, using my position to keep them anchored >One of them goes to her breast, rubbing it, pinching the nipple as I continue my assualt on her body >The other goes to her hand, squeezing it >She smiles, the expression drunken looking as her brain struggles to process all the stimuli barraging it >She locks fingers with me, her nails digging into the back of my palm >Savia trembles violently beneath me, body moving as if being electrocuted >She lets out another garbled moan, cooing my name as her body shifts and tightens again >”FUCKING HELL DOC” She yells, slamming her head back again, body shaking >She spasms, and I can feel her shift ramrod straight under me, her legs shifting and wrapping around my torso >Her hand slips out of mine, her arm clinging to me, the harpy wrapping around my body, shivering and shaking violently >Her face meets mine, Savias lips locking against my own, the harpy loudly moaning into my mouth >I keep pounding into her, Savias womanhood tightening around my member with every motion, her body shaking as if in a state of constant climax >I can feel her trying to rock her hips against me, the movements animalistic and desperate, her body meeting mine as rapidly as she can >Her hand grips onto me desperately, pawing at my back, constantly grabbing and loosening as if she is losing her grip >I can feel my own body being just as desperate for her, my thrusting trying to go deeper into Savia >It is the feeling of our bodies both becoming one, a mixture of loving passion, and carnal desire >The fine cusp between the two where everything is just about this moment before release >I hilt myself deep into Savia one last time, shoving full force into her >It feels like a hand grenade in my brain as I climax, exploding in brilliant white >For a brief second, I feel nothing >and then I feel everything as I burst inside Savia >She moans loudly, her body shaking, a groan of delight escaping her mouth, her thighs squeezing tightly against my own body >She rocks herself into me as I feel my body shudder, her every move sending bolts of lighting into my brain, the feeling being broadcast to her as pained groans of pleasure escaping my mouth >The moment feels like it stretches into eternity, Savia stroking my back, the most delicate touch of her fingertips making me shiver as i ride out my climax >FInally, I feel my body trembling >The strength leaves my muscles, and I collapse on top of the harpy >We lay there like that, Savia wrapping herself around my body, the feathers of her wing splayed and warm against the cold sweat of exertion, her legs still locked around me >Her body trembles, our soaking skin touching, it feeling electric still in the afterglow as we lay in the damp sheets >Our breathes combine together in shuddering, exhausted pulls >Finally, I feel enough strength to push myself off her, laying to Savias side >She immediately rolls and clings to me, her wing splaying itself over my chest, Savia nestling up to my face >She places several quick pecks upon my cheek, resting her head in the crook of my neck as her legs wrap around mine, the slickness of our combined fluids still wetting them >”D-dc.. Mey.. fragks…” she mutters, voice distant >My hand goes to her head, gently stroking her emerald hair, it all messed up and wild from our copulating >”Are you okay Savia?” I ask her, my tone breathless in the best of ways >I feel her nod her head, her hand raising up a single finger, asking for a moment >”Take your time.” I whisper back to her, Savia’s body feeling like jelly against mine >We lay there in the puddle of our sweat, our hearts beating the same rhythm, our breathes synching with each other >”God… Doc…” I finally hear Savia whisper, her voice airy and distant >She stretches next to me, whimpering with the movement, before giggling to herself >”Fucking… you dumb bastard. Holding out on me when you could be doing all that all the time.” She laughs >Savia pulls herself up on my chest, looking me in the eyes >”You're going to have to make up for lost time, you know that right?” >”Yes Savia, I am well aware.” I chuckle back, my hand patting her ass gently >She flops flat against me, cooing loudly >She nuzzles into my chest, her wing wrapping against me >I can feel her sniffing my chest, her breaths quick and rapid >And… wet? >She sniffles loudly, a slight sob escaping her throat >My hand goes to her back, patting it gently, reassuringly >”Are you… are you alright Savia?” >I see her nod, her tears rubbing against my chest >She looks up at my face, her eyes red, cheeks stained with tears… >And yet… >She has the brightest, widest smile on her face that I have ever seen >”I’m perfect Doc. I’m more than perfect.” She laughs, tears dripping from her eyes >And I realize… >These are not tears of pain, of sadness… >Joy >These are tears of joy >”Doc?” She asks, scooting closer to my face >Her eyes are soft, staring into mine >”Can I tell you something Doc? Please?” >I nod quietly, looking into her eyes, getting lost in the emerald and jade >She smiles, cheeks going red with blush >”Doc… I just wanted to say… thank you.” >more tears come from her eyes, Savia giggling and laughing >”Thank you for not giving up on me, after all this time. Doc, youre a miracles, youre my miracles. I love you so much, thank you for… for… just all of this.” >She buries her head into the crook of my neck, hugging me tightly >”Doc, thank you. Thank you so much for keeping me alive.” >I feel… >I don’t know what I feel >Hearing that… >I can only wrap my arms around Savia, hugging her tight >”I… Youre welcome Savia. I’m…. I’m glad I could do everything for you.” >Savia laughs, looking up at me >”I’d do it all again Doc, all of it.” She says, her voice firm >”Every last thing, I’d go through it all again, just knowing that I would be able to… to be here with you.” >I blink my eyes rapidly, and shut them tight >I use my shoulder to clear the wetness from them thats quickly forming >”And I would do the same Savia, every last moment, it was all worth it for you.” >Savia giggles, wiping her face on her wing >”God we’re both some dumb cheesebags, ain't we?” She says >I nod in response >”Very much so. But, I do mean it, all of it.” >Savia nods rapidly >”Me too Doc, me too.” she says giddily ”And I really hope you get used to having me in the bed with you Doc, because it gets really lonely in that other room.” She adds, burying her face in my chest again >”And… I hope you get used to everything else.” She mutters, her leg gently nudging my manhood >It twitches in response, half hardening at the touch >She looks down at my waist, then back up at my face, a devious smile upon her face >”Soooo… Doc, round two?” >I nod, planting a kiss on her forehead >”Might as well make it three while we're here. Have to make up for lost time, of course” I laughingly say >Savia perks up, her smile growing wider >”Thanks Doc.” >I’m not sure how much longer later it is >Could be ten minutes, or could be ten hours >We stumble out of my room into the hallway, our bodies shivering, using our weight to hold the other up >I’m barely clothed, only in my boxers and a shirt >Savia is wearing her old medical gown, giggling about it, her walk stumbling side to side >We make it to the kitchen, and I fish some orange juice out of the fridge, pouring each of us a full glass and thensome of it >We both feel… giggly >Light, airy >Savia clinging to me as she drinks the juice, cooing and chirping rapidly >She drains the glass completely, and I fill it up again for her, doing the same for my own cup >”One more glass… and… maybe we can go again…” Savia breathlessly says, leaning against the counter >”Maybe… I make dinner first…” I respond, out of breath myself >Savia nods, sipping her juice >”Something quick, then back to bed.” She says with a smile >”Very quick, of course, and then we can-” >Theres the loud sound of someone clearing their throat >”Uh… Doctor? Are you… do you have a minute?” >.... >I… >That is right, I am a doctor >And… I probably should have a minute >I limp out to the waiting room, scanning around >I see a familiar face, one of my regulars >He gives me a tight lipped smile, awkwardly holding a orange pill bottle in his hand >”Uh… Hey doctor. Just uh… here for a prescription refill.” He says, looking me up and down, “How are uh…. How are things?” He asks, a knowing sound to his voice >I nod cordially, taking the prescription bottle from him >”Things have been good, very good I’d say.” >He nods as I look at the bottle, obviously trying not to laugh >”I uh… Yeah, I could tell I guess. I’m… glad to hear that.” He says, stifling a chuckle >... >I look down at myself, suddenly very aware of my lack of clothing >”Hey Doc? You okay? Someone here?” Comes Savias voice, peaking her head around the corner >I turn back to her, feeling my cheeks redden >”Everythings fine, we’re fine, it’s all good. I’ll… just be a second.” >Savias eyes shift from me, to my other patient, her cheeks going just as red >”Oh… uh… hey dude, s’up?” She says, slinking back >”Uh… hi.” He says, waving back to her >His eyes go from Savia to me, looking me up and down warily >”Is she-” >”I SWEAR I'M NOT A PATIENT” Savia yells, a guity smile on her face >I nod rapidly >”Yes, she’s not a patient, she just likes the gown.” I add >The man nods, looking between us both >”That’s… good? I didnt even think that. Is she your…” His voice trails off, him waying the question in his mind >”Yes, that is Savia, she is my…” >my… >My what? >”I’m his mate!” She yells with a smile, “Yeah… i'm his mate!” she echoes again, a giggle coming to her voice >I nod in agreement, turning back to my patient >”Yes, she is my mate. Savia over there, she is… Savia is my mate.” I say, looking back to her >I see her eyes widen, her face going red, her practically melting on the spot >”yeah… I’m his mate. He’s my mate too.” She says quietly, a giggle in her tone >The guy looks blankly between me and Savia, humming to himself >He blinks twice, then chuckles >”Well, damn.” He says, shaking his head >.... >Not the response I was expecting, really >”Well, I guess I owe someone a fair amount of money.” He laughs, slapping me on the shoulder “I’m glad you finally found someone Doctor.” >he looks from me, back to Savia, waving at her >”Please, take care of the Doc here, alright? He really needs it.” He laughs, turning away towards the door, chuckling to himself >”I’ll let you two to uh… get at it. Glad you both are happy!” He laughs again, voice trailing off >I watch him walk away, the door closing behind him >I turn back to Savia >Her face is bright red >”Did you mean it when you said mate?” She asks >I pause, looking her up and down >And I feel the most natural answer come >”Well, yes, of course. Did you mean it when you said mate?” >I feel Savia lunge at me, wrapping herself around me, kissing my cheek rapidly >I’ll take that as a yes >She hugs me tight, laughing >”Doc, really, again, thank you for saving my ass.” >She looks me up and down, her eyes watering again >”Doc, this may be stupid, but… I want to take care of you.” >She says it with determination, with vigor >”You brought me back from the edge, spent so much time helping my sorry ass when I didn't even want it, and I’m only here because of you. I want to do that all for you too, for every last day of my life.” >I look over Savia >The harpy who once was just a ragged thing, barely holding onto life >She wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, thought everything was poison >Scrawny, skin and bones, mangled practically beyond repair >Her trust as broken as her bones >And here she is >Standing in front of me, healthy and right as day >Saying that she wants to do the same for me >All for… the rest of her life >I don’t have to worry about her going anywhere >She’s as mine as I am hers >I hold the harpy tight against me, hugging her deeply >”And, as you do that, so too will I always take care of you, no matter what, for every last day of my life as well.” >This… >This is bliss >I may be Doctor Anon Seward, healthcare specialist >But now… I am also Doc >Mate to Savia the harpy >We break the hug, Savias hand intertwined with mine >”Want to have dinner Doc? With your… mate?” She asks with a smile >I nod in response >”Nothing would make me happier.” I tell her >But that is a lie >Because only one thing will make me happier in this moment >Something I wont tell her >What will make me happier, is when I take her to town tomorrow >And I go buy her a ring >And I turn my mate, into my wife >Savia Seward, assistant to the healthcare specialist, and loving wife of Doc FIN Thanks for the memories :)
